I have been having truly horrific experiences lately with extremely large packs of coyotes around my property. We own 3 houses on our street. All next to eachother and its 7.5 acres so a rather large area. I am still recovering from a broken hand after a motor bike accident and the large gun I have I am simply not able to hold with one hand. I am size 2 and 51, tiny in other words. I was at the end of my tether when I bit the bullet and called Wallenpaupack Sport Shop and spoke to a gentleman named Dave. Told him of my woes and how it had completely gotten out of control with these 4 legged invaders. Wonderful pro active man who told me what I need and how to go about getting it and how it would help me. Was very nice to me and didnt treat me like some bimbo ( Which was what I was afraid of if I went there ). I dropped into the shop today, Dave was not there but Chad tended to me. Also a very nice man. Full of useful information to help me make an educated decision. Asked me about my hand ( I have it in a brace for another 3 weeks yet ) and if I were left or right handed etc etc. He showed me one gun which seemed good but just didnt grab me. Asked me a few more questions. Answered them. Then I could see his mind ticking over and he showed me another. Perfect! Nice light weight handgun which I could operate easily with one hand and just balance with my defective hand while I was loading etc. Easy to load. Easy to hold. Easy to use. Not heavy. Accurate for the distances I would need it to be. Filled out the paperwork. Paid and was a happy camper. I got to meet Mark the owner. Who explained that women were great customers. He loved dealing with them. And I truly believe he was earnest in that comment. Offered me the phone number of a professional who would help me learn to use it correctly. Told me they would happily clean it for me when it needed it. He even gave me some mealworms for my ducks. Which were the target of these 4 legged invaders. Now I have a gun which will make a lot of noise, be accurate so I can irradicate a couple of these 4 legged invaders and hopefully any 2 legged invaders that mean us harm. All in all it was a great experience. I went in and was treated wonderfully. Came out with a gun with bullets. An education on the type of gun it was and how to use it correctly. And a healthy respect for the 3 men that work there. If youre a woman and want a gun for protection from 4 legged invaders or 2 legged invaders and dont want to seem like an idiot or get treated like one, pop in to see them. I cant say enough about how lovely there were and how helpful they were. All shops should conduct business in such a manner.

I was visiting the area from out of state and walked into the shop . I saw Walther P 38 from 1944. I am a collector and have a C&R license. I liked the gun and wanted to buy it on the spot using my C&R license rather than go through the hassle of having it shipped to another FFL. I told the guy at the counter to check the laws and he said indeed this gun qulifies as a C&R but because it was imported it doesnt anymore. He even went to say that every Mossin Nagant in his store is not considered C&R. I left very confused how a someone who works in a gun shop can be so mis-informed. Well, they got 1 star from me for this.

I decided to write a review after my visit to wallenpaupack sport shop, I just have to say the staff was very courteous and very helpful.. At no time did i feel like i was being taken advantage of or disrespected ..... they spoke to me as if they new me for years , I have nothing bad to say about their service .... I would buy another firearm from them anytime in fact i do believe this will be my new place to purchase all my firearms and ammo ......Once again tho owner Mark and his staff made my experience a great one ... thank you

My family made a last minute getaway to a lakeside cabin and decided Id like to do some fishing. I walked into Wallenpaupack Sport Shop looking to get some info on shore fishing and buy a bunch of gear, but the guy behind the counter actually made me feel unwelcome in the store. I left without buying anything. I havent been into a Walmart in 12 years, but I will drive 10 miles out of my way to shop at one so I dont have to give Wallenpaupack Sport Shop any of my money.

I dont understand how anyone can write horrible things about Mark and his staff! Mark and Tim have gone out of their way to help, advise and answer all of our questions. Mark isnt out to rip anyone off! No one offers better pricing and professional knowledge on merchandise. Dont be influenced by the disgruntled people who wrote bad reviews. Some people are never happy. Bottom line, stop in and see Mark, his staff and the quality merchandise for yourself.

I bought some bait, hooks and accessories from these guys. Then at the checkout I asked him what fishing spots/advice he would have for me since I was just visiting for the weekend. His response: "I dont know, I dont fish here". You own a bait shop. You are near this lake. What kind of answer is that? If I go to my car mechanic and ask him if he knows how to fix cars, his response isnt "I dont know, I dont own a car"

Ever time i purchase a firearm, I shop, then go to this store and it always cheaper or they match it. Their service is second none. A recent example: I purchased a used pistol that i had an issue with (manufacturers issue) . they offered to warranty it or give me full credit towards another pistol (with a discount)!. These are the go to guys in the area.

mark and the guys are great people to deal with plenty of info on there firearms fair and honest prices they have always had the best prices for ammo and weapons thanks guys for putting the community first when everyone else was trying to gouge the prices mark kept it real when he ran out he ran out honest man they are an asset to this community

I have to agree with Kyle ! Ive been going to Wallenpaupack sport shop for years ,and drive out of my way to get there, because they go out of their way to take care of you. The selection is good, the prices are fair ,and the guys know their stuff. So put that Cabelas catalog back in the outhouse and stop by ,youll be glad you did.

After a ton of recommendations, finally visited this shop and I was impressed. They have awesome prices on firearms and fishing supplies. The people working there are great guys as well. Will definitely be giving them all of my business while I am living in Pike County
