I shopped many times at this Big Lots when I was already in the area to pick up quality basics for less: organic cereals and cereal bars, teas and baby food, Pop Tarts, Nutella, cookies, all natural hand soap, paper towels, potting soil, a few toys and seasonal decor. A few foods items I almost bought over the course of different visits to the Shipyard Boulevard store were sitting on the shelves expired, including baby food jars with popped lids (!) Overall, I like Big Lots for the savings; however, Im not coming back to the Shipyard Boulevard store. Noticed at the car that an item I bought today was defective and turned around to exchange it, was asked to stand and wait at the end of the line with my toddler behind folks checking out with carts full. They opened another register and when I tried there (BTW, I did not have a poor attitude about this) was told again, by a different cashier, that I would have to be the last even though other customers motioned me to go ahead. At that point, I just set the item on the counter, told the cashier we are leaving and walked out. I was actually approached in the parking lot by one of the customers who encouraged me to call customer service about this. I understand Big Lots policy and the need to process an exchange at the register, my issue is with the lack of COMMON SENSE and courtesy on the behalf of the checkout personnel. Ultimately, its not worth a few dollars to me to patronize a store with dim and bitter employees among the staff.

Decent prices. However you better be prepared to wait in line. It was a Saturday evening picking up a few items. A line formed when Kimberly was checking people out in front. The line begin to get longer with several people standing and waiting. Then up comes 2 other employees from the around the store. No, they were not checking anyone out, just asking where another employee was at. Our check out was a good 10 mins with many others behind us waiting as well. I hope someone sees this review like "Larue" District Manager. Hope he fires certain managers or employees, and starts with a brand new fresh team. 11/7/2015 18:00-18:30 time frame store Shipyard and College Rd.

The big lots in Ogden is better, but if you dont want to travel that far this big lots will do. Big lots is great I always find things cheaper then at other stores. Every once in a while items can actually be cheaper at walmart. Sometimes if you get in there at the wrong time there can be a long line and only one employee checking customers out, it can be annoying

I went to this location today and stood in line for 10 mins and didnt get helped... it was only one person in front of me which was an employee of the store with 2 bull baskets of stuff. The other register wasnt opened so only On my way! Register was open with a slow ass cashier... I am not happy with this location ...

I bought my mattress here it was priced at a decent price a comprable price and when the mattress I bought started to fail and sag they took it back and replace it with a new one A different one buy different manufacturer since they no longer carry the one I had but they took care of it quickly and without any fuss.

Weird and wonderful mixes of different things. They even have a refrigerated section ! Sometimes checkout process is quite slow but otherwise a great place for random, affordable home goods.

Staff are always great! Anytime I need to find something they are accessible. Lines normally low and you can get in and get out. Quick, fast stop!

Shop here a few times a month since its convenient. Always fast friendly service with better than average prices on most name brand staple items
