Wine Chateau Matawan is one of the cleanest and most organized liquor/beer/wine store that I have had shopped in. The prices are the best in the area and they even do a price match guarantee! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was asked a few times for help. I was able to try a new bottle of wine on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The large craft beer selection makes me feel like a kid in a candy store since I am avid beer drinker. I enjoyed seeing all the new craft beers and hearing about the new ones that are coming in the next month. The new conversion of this store was the best thing that happened. Great Service, Unbeatable prices (literally), and great selection. I will be returning frequently.

Oh wow! Whats that smell? As soon as we walked in it hit us like a brick to the dome. There is an overwhelming smell that permeates the entire store. It smells like the owners are trying to cover up another smell (like cooking) with an air freshener but it ends up smelling 10x worse. Its so bad that our clothes smelled on the ride home and needed to be washed after 10 minutes in the store. To make matters worse, as if thats possible, the actual bottles we purchased still smell days later just sitting on our counter! We even wiped them with alcohol and scrubbed them with soap and water and they still smell! I hope the owners see this and make a change because its a nice local spot with great prices.

I just walked in to get a 40 oz before getting on the train to have a good night with my friends and a lady who wasnt wearing a name tag and wouldnt disclose her name told me my id wasnt valid and when I asked "why? My birthday clearly states 1994" she told me about i looked intoxicated and I hadnt had a sip of alchahol, nor was I slurring or showing any signs of intoxication. Then she got really snotty with me and said "oh well" Ive been there multiple times and its a great estableshment but I will not be going there anymore because of her. She was very rude and judgmental.

Called in Advance an specifically requested a wine that they assured me they had in stock. Drove 20 minutes out of my way to go there only to find they in fact DID NOT HAVE THE WINE the answer I got from the manager who completely disrespected my time was "Gee, its not the end of the world buddy" Obviously the idea is to get you in the store with the assumption you will settle for something. I will never shop there again

Wine Chateau has set a standard in how you shop for your bottle of liquor. No matter which location Ive purchase my bottles from, each and every wine chateau is laid out similar and gives you the same experience. Friendly staff, best prices, clean stores and bright lights. I hope they keep expanding their locations for years to come. Great job!

They carry a large, and good selection of domestic & imported wines, and beers. The wines do tend to be on the expensive end, and unless you know much about wines you will not have heard of many (possibly most). The people who work there are friendly, and most are knowledgeable and helpful.
