Good afternoon, Let me first begin by saying we used to love shopping at Hyvee. Its a little out of the way to come there but the service was great and everyone seemed friendly. I would have considered hyvee a cut above the rest when it came to service, cleanliness, amazing produce, fresh meats meats ect . Shopping there did not seem like a chore until recently. I thought maybe the person that was helping me in the meat department was maybe having a bad day. Not only did I stand in front of the counter for several minutes but not one person asked me if they could get me anything. It took me speaking out after about 5 minutes if I could get some help. Now I know 5 minutes doesnt seem long, but when you have workers there to work and theyre just standing there talking it can get a bit irritating to watch. I chalked it up to the fact that everyone deserves atleast one bad day once in a while. So the next time my family and I came through we stopped at the seafood department and I stood there again for over 5 minutes with no service so I walked away and began to watch. The young man had several customers waiting for service and he did not turn his back for an additional 3 minutes. From a customer standpoint if he doing something, atleast every 30 seconds to a minute he should be turning around. On this day I watched several customers go unsatisfied. One more example of poor service, my wife and son were getting trailmix from the self service containers, the pre-prepaired items on the side were stacked so high that my son on accident knocked some on the floor and one package opened and went everywhere. My wife and son cleaned up the mess and brought the opened package to a cashier and my wife explained to the cashier what happened so nobody would have eaten food off the floor. The cashier took the package and then asked my wife if she wanted to buy it. My wife has been in the medical field for a very long time and thought it was completely unsanitary to even offer to sell food that had fallen on the floor. It is no longer a joy to shop at the Brooklyn Park Hyvee as their customer service has completely gone down the drain. I might as well go shop at Walmart.

Today I came in and picked up my customized cupcakes for the baby shower. Thinking it will be all set and ready for me like one of the employees had promised me about 3-4 weeks ago, it wasnt. The cupcakes wasnt found anywhere. I had to wait 10 minutes for the employees at the sweet shoppe, who were looking for the cupcakes. Im not sure if it was misplaced with any other orders or if it wasnt just made at all, but Im really disappointed. It was a month noticed for these cupcakes and it wasnt done for me. My order of was taken through the phone and made sure itll be ready by today, August 20. It wasnt. Although the employees did offer to make quick 50 cupcakes of what I wanted and deliver it to my house and all, I was still disappointed on how this catering experience with hy-vee went. The fondant of seashells were poorly designed. The whips on top seems quite messy and on top of that, I was charge $0.70 more than the price I was told. What was even more disappointing was being told that the employees at the sweet shoppe wasnt able to find it and didnt know what to do. Ten minutes of waiting on picking up orders shouldnt take that long. Terrible customer service. Highly disappointed since hy-vee is new to my area also. Even with the two weeks noticed for my mini reception cakes, they were done on time but what happened to the cupcakes? I would have recommend this place for dessert catering cause of the price, but after this experience, I dont think Ill ever cater here again. I hope in the future the bakery and sweet shoppe will have better service and get orders done by the time. I do like the store in general but, this has definitely impact on my rating.

Hy-Vee was our grocery store when we lived in Iowa. The very first time I stepped into the Brooklyn Park store, I was greeted warmly by an employee at the door and offered the circular--you can always say no thank you. Theyre great about keeping them. The store is fully stocked, a friendly employee willing to help at a moments notice, and while the store is really, quite large (I had never seen so many selections of vinegar--especially imported!) you can start by just getting familiarized with the store. I believe they have some clothing at this store. The prices are comparable to Cub in most things--however, beware. Some things are definitely overpriced, and while you may expect it to be a busy store--the checkout lines could stand to be staffed at all times--the people are exceedingly friendly, helpful, and these people smile! I had really missed Hy-Vee. Oh, and if you like getting a nice meal during your work day? Hy-Vee is close enough and has incredible variety. Everything from a great deli, to Chinese food (which Id rather be much better seasoned, but then again, I eat Thai food rather regularly, so just about any "Americanized" version of Asian food will be a let down), to pastries, a great desserts/cakes area, I mean, you just cant go wrong. And the produce is absolutely to die for! And if you are going to pick up salt for your softener? Let your check out person know--theyll call for an employee to meet you at the side entrance to assist you in putting it in your vehicle. Why is Hy-Vee so much better? Its employee-owned. So when you own it? You care--and you deliver above and beyond.

Been there multiple times since they opened and plan to go back. Unlike most other grocery stores, this place has a full on sit-down restaurant, along with a pretty diverse food court featuring Mexican, Asian (including sushi), Italian, and American favorites. So far I have tried their Mexican Grill, I got their burrito bowl and it was very good with unique flavor and the meat (carnitas) was fresh and flavorful. Its similar to Chipotle and other Tex Mex restaurants but I think I like HyVees variation just a tad more, probably because Ive had it a lot less than Chipotle and others. Their meat department and bakery is ten-fold better than Cub Foods quality and selection. Ive gotten Muffins that were fresh and delicious and steaks and burgers from the meat department, which were some of the best I have tried, and for a reasonable price. HyVees in house brand competes with other stores generic brands, I have yet to be disappointed. Im most impressed with their meat section, that alone is worth checking out the new HyVee.

This review is for the smoothie bar and the hot foods section of the store, I always add protein to my smoothie which obviously makes it thicker and numerous times I have asked them to not throw away what is left in the blender, about 50% of the time they will pour it into two cups or into the larger cup but the other 50% they will use what I paid for as samples or dump it down the sink. I asked if I could just bring my own cup from home and they dont allow that either. It is frustrating to watch what you paid for go down the drain. The hot food section, twice my food had been sitting out for so long that it was hard as a rock and I always ask how long something has been sitting out, the answer is always I dont know maybe an hour...umm maybe you need to put a time stamp out so your staff knows. It seems like that side of the store is very poorly managed as the customer service manager has never returned my phone calls even though I left my information at the customer service desk. Get it together Brooklyn Park Hyvee
