Power tripping cashier. I have been going to Costco for ages with pleasant experiences. Today, however, was not that day. I guess at this Costco berating customers is their policy. I forgot my Costco card, but my dad was with me and he is on my same corporate card so no biggie...right? The first words out of the cashiers mouth wasnt hello or any greeting. It was "are you using his Costco Card?" I said yes... but we have the same corporate Costco card and we are under same corporate debit card... no biggie right? No.... she said no way... but she will let it happen this one time. Wait... what? I said... no big deal... my dad will pay with his debit card... no big deal... right? No. She continued. She began berating me that Im trying to use his card. I just kept quiet and until it was too much and told her that she will not power trip on me. Told her to stop and this is unnecessary. Save her berating for another customer. She was not happy. She needed the high or something. She definitely wasnt Costco material. But the manager I went to tell her behavior on wasnt any better. I said I wanted her apology... he said I wasnt gonna get one today and said "what do you want? A free ice cream? A free pizza? A soda? " Just disgusting... trying to gloss over a lame attempt at an apology with food. He seemed actually mad at me for some strange reason which didnt calm me down rather upset me even more. I finished by leaving my number for the cashier to call me privately to apologize. I wont hold my breath and wont go back to this Costco. Just bad unnecessary power trip here. Update: Finally received a call from Costco after 2 weeks only because I emailed Corporate... only to be told that she was sorry. But she couldnt provide paperwork that states the policy. I wanted to talk to a supervisor to no avail... I wish I never had gone into this place!

Usually, Im very happy with Costco but had a very rude interaction with Sue M at the register this past weekend. She literally raised her voice and tried to shove their policies about ringing up my grandmother on a separate receipt down my throat. I had no issue with the policy itself, but did mention that I often bring my grandma along and ring up her items on a separate receipt every time. After raising her voice she decided to call over another employee, to prove to me that this has always been the policy. She caused quite a scene and the employee she called over said that sue is just "very meticulous about policies" but in my opinion, meticulous is better suited for other positions within a company, not during checkout. Regardless of the situation, a customer should never ever leave a store feeling like they were mistreated, especially since all she had to do was say "please keep in mind that per our policy we must ring up all items in your cart on one receipt." I left very heated and even contemplated canceling my membership. Than I decided to google "Costco rude employees" and realized there are many posts out there about people having to put up with rude treatment from the frontline employees. Needless to say, I will be avoiding the commerce location from now on.

On Thursday Oct. 13-16, I went to Costco in Commerence, my mother who is handicapped was unable to go inside-they did not have a mobile cart available. I went in for her, I understand that is not policy, so if they said no I cant purchase anything, I accept that. I gathered up what she needed (a few things for myself) When I got up to the check out line, first I was told usually they allow it- so she signaled for the asst. manager wow the rudeness was ruthless- I was yelled at, demanded my id, the manager went away with my id, at that point I had the cashier, asst. manager and manager saying NO! I could not buy anything unless I pay $55.00 now. (I didnt have, and live very far up north) so I left feeling humiliated, angry. Fine, I get the rules-however they did not need to be so loud, rude, demeaning. I have been there several times, with my mother. In all those times the cashiers are just plain rude. I.e. I need your card then a sigh. Put your cart here! Not there. It is the way they say it. Quite a few brazen comments at us. In total=I love the merchandise- not the people. Last note- I think the day manager is Rob=he is very nice.

My rating is based on a single item among my purchases and the expectation that my complaint (made on a Friday) will be resolved to my satisfaction in the next business day (Monday ) ** I am disappointed in my meat purchase.** I expected great things, because of what I had heard and it looked great inside; I got some great deals on other things. ** The pork ribs (3 per pkg) we packed on the day of purchase, brought home and refrigerated. Less two days later I opened them to cook (around 1pm), and a bad odor wafted into my kitchen. They were also a bit slimy.** Considering that the item was more than 10% of my total purchase, I have to give a low rating. I called the Costco general number listed on the post card a little later (2:30)PM. I visited as a guest because of a postcard promotion. I was pleasantly overwhelmed by the size of the store, the variety of items and the cleanliness.

Checking out was a slow-mo nightmare. Apparently, this was the--undesignated, unmarked--register exclusively for membership refund checks and waiting to re-up expired memberships. Every other line around us was processing huge orders at the usual quick speeds, but I and my small order had the privilege of being made to wait 15-20 minutes with frozen items melting on their carpet, and no offer to transfer to a speedier checkout lane, watching those who had been behind me walk out the door while I waited, and waited, and waited. Management offered no constructive solution and didnt seem to care to make things right. This was THE worst checkout experience at Costco EVER. Absolutely the poorest customer service, which means my trips there will be limited from now on. If its a question of wasting time in a checkout lane, I might as well go to a place that offers self-checkout!

I have a name for this particular Costco, Rich Mans Costco. It always has the highest gas price among other Costcos in the southeast Detroit area. I also found a few in-store items I usually purchase that are higher than other Costcos in the area. Yes, different Costcos have different prices even when they are next to each other. I have tried once to have this Costco refund me the price difference I found cheaper from the next Costco. The answer I got from the store manager is Costco does not match price. Well, I was only asking for price consistence, not price match. The manager seemed to have difficulty understand the concept, a bit out of touch. Also showed that they dont understand the business. So dont shop there unless you are rich and ...,

Its alright, some things are a good deal and other things just arent worth buying in bulk for the small savings. So far Im unimpressed with the already prepared food. The mac and cheese is the worst imaginable, sandwich tray wasnt much better. Also the store is packed with people always. Usually a line waiting to get in before they open. I try to severely limit the amount i have to come here. Still do most of my shopping at Meijer since they are open 24/7. Sometimes dealing with the lines at Costco, and crowds of rude people just isnt worth saving money in general.
