I have not had a great car repair experience; that is until I pulled into the Pep boys on Halsted in Homewood IL! As a woman I have trust issues with car repair shops; due to past bad experiences and the lack of care and the discrimination that occurs( Oh just tell her anything and she will pay for it!) Yes as a female I have in the recent past relied on the professionalisms of an establishment simply because the signs posted claims to provide the best services. Found out the hard way and thousands of dollars wasted! That is when I became more determined to find a shop that I can invest in rather than take my baby to this doctor that doctor and another doctor. I did not want many different mechanics working under my hood I just needed one good ASE certified mechanic so that I can allow a car/mechanic/ bond or some sort of customer trust relationship to build. Pep Boys in Homewood got my attention right off the bat starting with the outstanding customer service! The service manager was very professional and thorough with his explanations of what issues my car was having. He took his time to explain things to me in ways that I can understand. This showed the care and compassion that I needed to see; instead of feeling like there is a woman tell her anything she will pay for it! Danny(Service Manager) he is the reason that I will continue to invest in this particular Pep Boys location. He really made me feel appreciated and he put in the time and effort to make sure I was getting the services that I paid for! Danny took time away from the counter to do some repairs on my vehicle and that was very honorable in my eyes(never seen a service manager take that type of action and get his hands dirty!!)(NEVER!!!!) Charles is a great asset to the counter as well he knows how to also make my business/investments feel rewarding! I respect him for telling me the things that I should fix right away versus the things I can hold off unlike previous advice from F******* *****y! The mechanics there basically told me I should sell my car; with out knowing the attachment or the cars history! Charles told me things that I already knew about my vehicle he is also appreciated. Bob the mechanic did the work on my car and he did an amazing job he is a well seasoned mechanic and one can appreciate that! He took his time and I am satisfied with the outcome of his work! Barney first time meeting him and he was a joy. I commend him on his hospitality and light hearted humor! Overall the whole establishment is a very compassionate and admirable place a lot of other Service Centers should view this type of approachability as threating, and fix their lack of it! I truly enjoyed the friendly, caring and professional service. I have found in this pep boys a physician for my baby(car) and in return pep boys at this location has gained a customer for the duration of times thanks guys!!! See ya soon!!

I Came in at 8:40 am for a conventional oil change, i was the second customer at the loacation after waiting 10 minutes to be waited on i was finally asked the reason for my visit to Pep Boys. My car was taken into the garage after 90 minutes of patiently waiting i asked when will the car be ready its only getting a oil change. I was told by the assistant manager who wasnt there when i came in that the mechanic had to answer the phone and do mechanical at the same time! But that hes here now so the mechanic can focus on being a mechanic. This is unacceptable i explained the mechanic wasnt here alone that there was another supervisor there when i came in so the mechanic should have been able to just focus on cars from the very beginning. The assistant offered me a free oil service on my next visit which was a great gesture but at the same time i didnt get out of there until 10:44am thats 2 hours for a oil change not a engine transmission or radiator flush but a simple 30 minutes 5quart oil change. Im not sure whos fault this is but something had to change at the homewood pep boys.

I absolutely am pleased with the Homewood IL. Store the Manager Dave and all his staff in the service department made my experience with them a very memorable one. I had new tires, breaks, rotors and a front end alignment done. I left with a smile. I have had work done on cars at many establishments before and never had such a knowledgeable and welcoming experience at no other place like the Pep boys in Homewood IL. To the pep boys company please take the time to acknowledge and appreciate the service staff. To anyone needing service on your vehicle, if you live in the area make sure you visit this store first. I was greeted promptly and asked what I needed done. I was given a realistic timeline and told I would be called when my vehicle was ready to be picked up. I was called twice with status updates and questions regarding additional services that would be helpful and/or necessary to complete what needed to be done. When I informed the employee that I would not be able to afford anything additional, she was very helpful in making sure I could get what I needed at a reasonable price. Overall, it was as pleasant an experience as I think can be possible when getting a vehicle serviced.

My parents vehicle was taken to the PepBoys in Homewood. PepBoys overcharged my parents. After they figured they could not repair the vehicle they sent the car to a dealership for repair without telling them. PepBoys inconvenienced them and took advantage. They had the car for over a month and upon the first return the engine light came on a day later. A request was made that PepBoys reimburse them for a second rental for their inconvenience but they refused. BEWARE they dont care about their customers. Shame.....

Try to return starter that I had bought from matteson the same day store said I had to return to store I bought it from. When asked for the policy no one could answer. Called corporate never receive call back until 2 weeks later. The manager of this store told me that is the policy which it is not according to the policy which is online and posted in the matteson store. Will never buy anything from pep boys again. I will drive further to autozone moving forward. If I could have rated a zero I would have

Dont go here!! I went up here to get my heat fixed in the winter. They charged me 500 to do it but it was still blowing cold. So I kept coming back up there and they were spinning me. Until I got on them. Then they took it in around 3:30 pm and they never called me. I called them back and No answer and eventually they closed without letting me know it wouldnt be done that day. Ended up losing about $50 for a uber to get up there. Plus missing work the next morning

I have always gone to the auto dealer for service for years and then I wanted to keep my business local. I have been taking my auto to Pepboys in Homewood for service and I am so happy with the quality and price. Special "shot out" to Service Manger Danny Adams #514 for the running such a well organized department. The store is very clean and all of the employees are knowledgeable and very helpful.
