Where do I start? CROSSROADS MANAGER: CM Customer(Myself): Me NOTE THAT THE CM OF THIS INCIDENT IS TAYLOR COLLINS I live in Lincoln Park and used to love checking out this store on walks down Clark St. But I was in yesterday and it will be my LAST time shopping at this HELL HOLE. 1st of all, the cashiers here are extremely rude. I purchased a dress and a pair of shoes. The cashier left BOTH items with SENSOR TAGS on them. Clearly this individual was careless and needed to get it together. (Stop smoking weed before you come into work, perhaps?) I then made a phone call at 7:02pm (Same day, this was 15 minutes later on a Sunday) They closed at 7pm. However the woman over the phone was VERY polite and apologetic and offerd to remove the sensors if I came back that evening. I returned with the sensored items to have the sensors removed before I headed to my dinner. (All of a sudden the woman helping thought it was appropriate to refer to me as "girlfriend" which I didnt think was appropriate) I brought the items out of the bag and wanted to ask if they ever did returns (General question) To which she responded: " GIRLFRIEND, I CAN"T HELP YOU WITH THAT! IM DOING YOU A FAVOR BY HELPING YOU WITH THIS!" Me: A favor? Im asking a general question. CM: GIRLFRIEND I CANT HELP YOU WITH THAT RIGHT NOW. MY CASH REGISTER IS CLOSED!!!! Me: (silent and stunned for a moment) Again, I wasnt planning on returning anything. I am asking a general question. After she was done taking the sensor off of my shoes, I then hand her the dress. Im just ready to dismiss myself from her negative energy and presense at this point. CM: OH SORRY - I CANT HELP YOU WITH THIS. THIS SENSOR IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ONES WE CARRY. Me: So you sold me an item with a sensor you cant remove? CM: She begins to shout.. yes, literally shout at me. "GIRL, I CANT HELP YOU!!! THIS IS NOT OUR SENSOR!!! GET OUT OF THE STORE!!!! THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO!!!!!! GET OUT!!!!" Me: Are you serious? Can I have a refund? What am I supposed to do with a sensor on my dress I just purchased from you all 20 minutes ago? CM: MAAM GO AND GET A WIRE CUTTER AND CUT IT OFF YOURSELF!! I DONT KNOW!! I CANNOT HELP YOU!! GET OUT OF THE STORE.. Me: (Again, just stunned in silence and disgust) CM: IM CALLING THE POLICE!! GET OUT!! WE ARE CLOSED!! (Still shouting) Me: You told me you would assist me. Please tell me what I am supposed to do. My boyfriend then gets out of the cab.. comes in and tells her to write a note so that I can come in the next day to return it or get the sensor removed. She hesitantly does that I and leave that disgusting place never to return. This was on 5/17/15 and the Manager was TAYLOR COLLINS! Shes hideous and extremely rude.

I went to this location to sell some items. The person who was at the buy counter had some questions for the manager about some of my items, and instead of discussing it quietly the manager was very loud about how ugly the items were. Most of my items were brands new, and I was told they were too "vintage" for the store. I shrugged it off, maybe they didnt like my styles? Anyway, they still took a couple items. I didnt enjoy my selling experience, but I wanted to keep it in mind to shop at instead of selling. I went about a week later to shop. I was starting a new job that required me to wear all black. I am a size M-L, keep that in mind. I couldnt find a single item that was black that didnt have some sort of damage (stain, missing button, tear, hole, broken zipper). This was a shame since they lacked a decent selection of black items anyway; I searched every size rack (Even small) looking for black, hoping there was a L or M mixed in. I was also looking for shoes. Black heels, so simple! Yet I could not find anything. After looking at every shoe in the store, I went up to the counter to ask. There were 4 girls behind the counter just talking. This is was a little bit intimidating because they were all huddled in a circle and clearly didnt care to be on the floor helping customers (I felt bad for the girl in the fitting room who had a full rack of go-backs and no one to help her out!). Anyway, I asked them if they had any black heels in my size in the designer section. One girl just shrugged and said, "No, we dont." I asked if she could check, and she said, "Im sure we dont." I understand that she may have had the inventory knowledge that, no, they didnt have what I was looking for, but at least humor me a bit. As a customer, it DOES look like you dont care at all whenever I clearly dont see anyone attempting to work (except that poor fitting room girl), laughing behind the counter, and making literally no gesture to help me out. Probably wont go back, or at least will seek out a different location in the Chicago area; clearly the management at this store doesnt care.

To give some context, Im a male, average built/weight, and 6 foot. If youre selling preppy clothes, I wouldnt recommend this place. Anything more formal that a t-shirt is likely to get rejected. I had some polos, some not in tip top shape but some were, all rejected. Plain blue chino shorts, plaid shorts (good condition) - rejected. Any sort of "formal wear" is rejected as well, meaning nice chinos and cotton sport coats. The clerk told me that blue and black denim sells the best. Kind of strange considering the store isnt exactly in wicker park. Not sure where else youre supposed to sell the above other than ebay as elliot consignment seems to be high end (they told me they wouldnt accept suit supply).

I had a few high end "Authentic" items with receipts from Neiman Marcus & Gucci.Bags "only 1 season old" Bags of value over $1500 each. I was offered $75 "A total insulting jester" I was helped by this unprofessional"ANNOYING" Nappy headed "wanna be girl" "Their are 2 nappy heads "they arent hard 2 miss" They both have the same attitude"Hair like tumble weed" .A voice soooo, annoying!I would rather listen too a thousand people run their nails up & down a chalk board

If you are trying to sell your things dont expect them to be nice to you. I browsed the store while they were looking at my clothes and they tagged my bags (with price tags intenting to sell them) even though I told them the bags were not for sale when I came in. They didnt fold my clothes or put them back in the bag when they finished. They put my items on a shelf (since they didnt put them back in the bag) and when I got them back there was hair and marks on my previously clean clothes. Needless to say, I wont be buying or selling to them again in the future.

For a second hand store, their clothes are much more expensive. Often they will sell unworn clothing with the label still attached at near retail prices. They have a more curated collection than Platos up the street (walking distance), which means that they have a more limited selection of mens clothing. I usually find one thing that I ultimately buy, mostly because it seems to be a bit too expensive for a thrift shop.
