Im just returning home from an appalling experience at your Douglasville location! Over the past two weeks Ive spent $231.97 in your Douglasville, Georgia store #415 preparing party favors and gift bags from my nephews birthday party occurring on this coming Saturday. My purchase on 4/30/12 (Transaction # 69179) was for a number of gift bags, sewing items, 12 water bottles, ribbon, paper and 12 water spring toys (item #6470116). I returned to the store this evening to swap out the gift bags for sand buckets and to return the 12 water spring toys along with ribbon and paint - all of which I had the receipt for & was in its original packaging. I entered the store approximately at 7:30pm. Immediately upon entry, your store manager (Sherri) asked me to get in line for my return. I offered instead for her to hold my return so that I could pick up the items that I needed (sand buckets, paper, hole punch). It would save time if I grabbed the items I needed, and did an exchange at the register. I only wanted to come to the register once I informed her. Immediately I was met with an attitude. When I returned to the register 15 or so minutes later with a basket of new items to purchase, Sherri informed me that she wouldnt be able to return the water toys seeing that they appeared used. Mind you – these items have the Hobby Lobby tag in place and the sales tag attached. Just a few days earlier, I purchased ALL of the water toys that you had and even left the empty display box at the register, where it sat this evening. It would be nearly impossible for someone to use water toys without removing the tags first or getting the tags wet. When I informed her that they hadnt been used, in fact were purchased just 3 days prior & never left the trunk of my vehicle – she accused me of lying. I insisted that she return my money and she refused to do so. I demanded that she contact the district manager or corporate office. When she returned she offered to provide me with a gift card, which I refused seeing that I had paid for the items on my credit card and wanted it returned in the same manner. All of this back and forth occurred while I was planning to spend up to $60 or so dollars more on new items. I became very frustrated and upset and saw this as a purely racial issue. I felt her tension as soon as I entered the store in fact. After refusing to provide a refund I insisted she contact the police. Officer Adam Forrester arrived, documented the incident (Case # 12005496) and suggested I return in the morning. Ill be returning into the store tomorrow to not only return the $13 worth of water toys, but all of the items that I purchased from your store for this event. I find it very upsetting that I would be ridiculed and disrespected in such a way. I am a party planner and spend quite a large amount in your store for paper, paper cutters, ribbons, wedding accessories – you name it. After this incident I will NEVER support your store again and will make it my point to inform others about how you handle your guests. As stated, I will return to your store at 9am tomorrow for a refund of my entire purchase! Not just the $13 worth of water toys as I originally tried to do.

One of the employee in the fabric area was rude and angry, my sister and i, asked her where an item was located, she rudely replied with pointing and not speaking.. If you dont like your job, find something you like, no need to be angry or upset with customers that is paying that company to pay you. You may or may not had a bad day but that attitude makes me not want to spend my money in your location..

I like hobby lobby . The staff is great. But the lines are awful . The workers try to go as fast as they can but the register system sucks . The managers are slow when it comes to returns and refunds . And the store can get overwhelming with too much mess on there. I think it can improve . But now its just full of mess and crowded in the store .

Let me start by saying I love hobby lobby, but Im not a huge fan of this location. The staff up front are great-but the assistant manager is not so kind. She acted like I was bothering her when I needed assistance the other day. Also, there is NEVER anyone in the fabric department.
