The store looked organized. The website said open til 9:00 pm, we heard great things about the store, so we drove out of our way at 7:15 pm (arrival), the lights were on, and one customer was in the store.... the door locked.... the woman behind the counter mouthing the word. "Closed". No actual hours were posted on the door. If the site/location in google search is wrong, this is an unfair star rating. If it is bad information provided by the store, then they might consider fixing this. Before we could walk away from the door, four more cars pulled up, and the person behind the counter saw and turned these customers away as well. Going back up the road, we saw Islands Gifts (and shells) at 1609 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel Island was open and sold us close to $100 in shells and gifts. Their business hours also say they are open until 9:00pm.

This is such a fun little shop if you like everything "shell." There were all kinds of loose shells, all in beautiful condition and a lot of collector specimens, like split nautilus shells. There was home decor, jewelry, lamps, sculptures and other decorator items. Of course, there were also the usual local T-shirts, etc. My favorite part of the store was the holiday collection. There were so many really clever tree ornaments made from shells. It was a tough decision, but I finally chose a cute turtle wearing a hat. What I didnt like were seeing some sharks, that had previously been alive and happy, hanging on the wall as home decor. If youre looking for any kind of shell item, this is the place to go. The people are friendly and the prices are about average. Have fun and tell them Yelp sent you!

Nice store, very unique, but service could have been better. Honestly, their prices really arent too bad (at least by Sanibels standards). There are plenty of shells to choose from whether individually or in bulk bags. There were two employees working at the time and neither seemed happy to be there. Maybe it was just the day or time I visited, but it would have been nice to have had more interaction from them; greeted at the door, asked if they could help with anything, or even a thanks after buying from them would have earned an extra star. I would go back and would definitely recommend checking them out for their reasonable prices.

Great place to go for shells. They got a 4 star because the lady who was checking us out was in a conversation with another guy who may have been the owner about inventory. We were asking questions about the shells and she ignored us at times as she answered questions her boss was asking. Because of all this she was rather short with us, like we were bothering her. We never got all our questions answered. I would think they could have taken care of their inventory questions after we were checked out.

Love this shop. We go every year. A little over priced but they have a huge selection of shells and other things. They have taxidermy sharks as well which I thought was awesome. The staff is super nice and doesnt make you feel bad when your 3 year old knocks over a pile of shells.

What the name on the building says... They have shells, shell glue, stuff to glue shells onto, stuff to display shells on, shell shirts and hats, stuff to find shells with, and rare shells. Oh, and beer coozies.

Such a cute place! Lots of neat things from the ocean, as well as ocean themed gifts & shirts. And very reasonably priced! They give you a free shell or two with your purchase.

They have some nice souvenirs, but I will not support a shop, which kills sand dollars and sea stars. Killing animals for the purpose of souvenirs is just stupid!
