Upon visiting Pepboys a few times for a oil and car wash items, on Dec. 23rd, I decided to have my front suspension and rear breaks done. I was well received by Manager Randy, Andrew Service Manager and Tyrell in Service. They were very professional in their demeanor. I own a 2005 Nissan Murano. I purchased the struts in house but according to the mechanic working on it said I instead needed the axles done. I returned the struts and purchased both axles at a competitors store because unavailable at Pep. The brakes were done by another tech while I waited. The front end was finally installed by original tech, I squared up and went home. I stayed in until late Xmas eve. I decided to make a run to the supermarket when I felt a jerk and immediately lost power and steering function. It was rolling forward in park and even while off. I parked it on a flat surface and placed cinderblocks in front of tires to stabilize. On Monday Dec 26, upon inspecting the underside myself and buddy, we noticed the axle on driver side was popped out and leaking oil. Wed I spoke with Andrew and he had my car towed & had drivers side axle removed, replaced, re-installed including seal. Andrew reassured me that it would be ready same day. No charge of course. Thurs took it to work and noticed a wobble, tug to right, and clunk and click noises on bumps and turns. I contacted Andrew once again had the car inspected by another tech and was determined that the axles werent the problem, it was the struts all along. Anyone in my position can understand the frustration I felt with the major safety issue at hand with axle coming apart (life & death even), but also as a consumer spending $500 of unneeded work, & time lost from work (bleeding $ from both ends). Andrew apologized for the trouble, assured me that he was going to make things right and have the struts installed while monitoring the job closely. He also made sure that the parts directly connected to the struts were complete and/or working properly. He also had his tech adj my e-brake (since the rear rotors and pads were done at same time), along with a re-alignment of 4 tires. The bottom line, he said, is that I leave Pepboys knowing the problem was completely rectified and any problems or questions that arise due to this issue will be re-addressed to my satisfaction. Again, I am putting my trust in Pep and Andrew. Although going through this was quite the learning experience, I do appreciate the timeliness & professionalism that management addressed this problem.

Worst experience ever. I had called to have a wheel stud replaced. Spoke with someone on the phone gave them the year, make, model of car and they quoted me for $58.. That was already a lot but as I had prior engagement and was short on time I chose to let them do it. They said it was buys and could get me in at 4pm(I called around10am). When arriving I spoke with guy behind desk which took 20 minutes for someone to get there. I explained to him the issue and he said it would cost me $202. WTF. I told him what a waste of a day it was waiting for the appointment. Luckily, Im a little familiar with cars and knew this was a total scam job. I went home took the tire off and removed the wheel stud myself. Picked up the parts from Autozone for a total of $1.99 and fixed it in under 1 1/2 hours with travel. Im sure this was a 30 min job for them given they have better equipment. I will never even call them again for anything..either they dont know mechanics or are trying to get over on people.

Had an Audi Q5 that I needed brake and rotar replacement. I brought in bright and early at 8AM on a saturday morning knowing it would be a long process. I was first one there and last to leave by 3PM. I bought EDC brakes and rotors myself. So i just needed the labor. The rotors were particularly difficult to remove myself. Audi had electronic lock brakes, so it complicated the process even further. The whole process shouldnt have taken to 3pm. When i saw the mechanic putting on the front set of rotors, i told another mechanic they mixed up the left and right rotors. The other mechanic told me he knew what he was doing. But luckily the mechanic caught his mistake after putting on the rear rotors. Overall, they could have done better. It shouldnt take to 3pm to change all the rotors and brakes. But the mechanic done a good job. No squeaks of any kind and brakes perfectly. Overall cost for just the labor came out to $506.

Drew and his team (Tyrell, Henry, Taylor and repair tech Carson) have been patient, thoroughly explaining what is wrong with the car, the parts/labor it will need; they are prompt in notifying me when parts will be in (when parts needed to be ordered to repair my car) and even provided a ride to/from work when a repair required that they keep my car for more than a day. The only reason why I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is because I have several rewards/coupons that expire way too quickly, before I am able to use them towards larger costs (like brakes, tires, etc). Otherwise, the service staff and repairs completed have been very good!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO SERVICE AT PEP BOYS!!! I went there today for an OIL CHANGE and it was the worst experience Ive ever had. The customer service (or the lack of it) was really unpersonal. They do not follow what they promise on their Website including the price for the service! After the service was done, and I went to get my car I notice that my car had oil stains all over the dashboard, the steering, the seat and the door! Why using gloves, right? Overall a very unpleasant experience!

Driving back from Brooklyn back to Boston, I had two tires blowout on me. The tow truck was expected to get to Pep Boys after closing. Andrew and Taylor kept the store open for me and were very accommodating to my situation. I cant thank them enough and hope that this review can help them in some way because they didnt treat me like a customer. They treated me as a fellow human that was in need. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Five stars.

Ive taken my van here a few times for routine maintenance. The staff are friendly and dont push anything extra on you. The work is always completed efficiently, but I havent had anything major done. The quotes for bigger things always seem fair, though. I just cant speak to my satisfaction of them. As an auto parts store its also s great place to go.

After a slight miscommunication, the service manager Andrew along with Tyrell and Henry worked together and went above and beyond to make sure I got my new tires in a timely manner. I was very impressed with the service I received and know that if I ever need anything itll get done right. Thanks so much if you guys see this!!

Drove to 4 different tire retailers and got uneeded upsells before the techs looked at the car. Called Pep Boys and got a compitent tech, Eric, who told me everything I needed to outfit my Jeep with the right tire. PB was having a great buy 3 get 1 free sale and I was in and out in no time. Recommend.
