I have to say first that I know Boyd personally, so this may be a bit biased, but I needed a few books for my college course and I figured I would check in with him first to see if he had the ones I needed. He gave me a full walkthrough of the store and showed me each section and what was in it. It was beautiful. So many books that not only looked good, but give it a homely vibe. You half expect to walk into the back room and find a recliner next to a wood burning fireplace. Its so relaxing to walk through the aisles and just know that youre surrounded by centuries of text. The craziest part is that Boyd has read most of them. If you ask him for a recommendation, he will ask your favorite genera and then give you his best suggestions. I asked for a sci-fi and he gave me a series of short stories that I fell in love with. I will always get my books from Boyds book store. And if you decide to get your books here too, then tell him that Alex Ross sent you!

Okay this place IS pretentious, Ill admit it. The staff isnt very friendly and it smells like cat litter sometimes. HOWEVER, this is still one of my favorite places in the city. The whole place has a charm to it and there is an endless supply of cheap books. I dont know how people got pictures on this page, as they dont allow cameras or cell phones! I always find something I like here and I like the little nooks around the store where you can take the time to read into a book before you buy it. They have extensive hours and the books are in good condition. Its better to go at the end of the night or on a weekday when its much less crowded. Also, be warned, if youre only looking to get one book, bring cash - theres a minimum.

Boyd is an excellent fellow and his prices and selection are above par. Complainers about his service should refrain from snap decisions viewed through the lens of their own discontent. Ive honestly never met a nicer guy, and this is the kind of bookstore we need to help preserve around here. With bookstores dropping like flies, we cant be petty snipers -- we should find and preserve decent people offering the community a valuable service at great hardship and risk to themselves.

Next Chapter Books is a decent sized used book store with a nice selection of used book. The store is well organized. The prices are very fair. The owner is very helpful and friendly. I definitely plan to go back as they get new books in on a weekly basis. We need to support our local independent book sellers. This is definitely one of the better ones in the valley! Highly recommended!

Great selection of used books, old and new. The important thing I found is that the older used books are in great shape. A lot of used book stores are full of old paperbacks with brown, brittle, stinky, and almost unreadable pages. I didnt find any of that here. Also had a great conversation with Boyd, the owner, my first time in. Its clear that he takes pride in his shop.

I needed a classic for my daughters english class and called Next Chapter Books. The phone was answered by Boyd, the owner and he kindly found my book and held it for me while I drove over. The book was perfect, I was surprised to find it was used and a great price! The store was clean, well kept, and had a ton of great looking books. I found my go-to used book store!

Everyone is different, but I really found that this shop had a greater number of books that I was interested in than other stores this size. I wish it were bigger, but it is still great the way it is. Oh, and theres free parking in the back, so dont feed the meters if you dont have to!

The owner knows his inventory. He is very helpful and pleasant. I found out on my visit today that he has a large selection of aviation and WW 2 books. If your looking for a used book that your having trouble finding, try here. Very pleasant place to go. And enjoyable owner. 8 May 17

Very nice little bookshop. Boyd Davis is a great help. The shop is well lighted and has thousands of books, most in excellent condition. Boyd has a nice section of autographed books and lots of first editions. He has fair prices and does trade credit too!
