This used to be the mall to go to in the 1990s. I literally grew up here. After watching Saturday morning cartoons, my family came here and watched live action shows with cartoon characters. Then we ate lunch at the Lubys cafeteria. I shopped here on the weekends. I got my ears pierced here. I had my first kiss here. Every Christmas, we shopped here and the halls were packed with people shoulder to shoulder. On the weekends, Id window shop here with my favorite person in the world, my dad (RIP). I loved Natural Wonders, Claires, Mervyns (remember that store?), Pacsun, Fast Forward, Wet Seal, Forever 21, Hot Topic. All those stores that people who grew up in the 90s would remember. The mall even seemed to be organized so that youd be shopping with your teen clique of people. I ate so many Dippin Dots, and got brain freeze from drinking Icees with my friends. There used to be a fountain system through here that resembled a creek or riverwalk. There were trees indoors. The atmosphere was much more pleasant than echoey loud malls. Youd throw pennies in the fountain and make a wish. Then the creek was replaced with kiosks and stands. It got quieter and less crowded. The outside of the buildings paint has faded. There are potholes and cracks in the mostly empty parking lots that used to be lined to the road with cars. I think, among other things of course, Stonebriar has been strangling the life from this once great mall for over a decade. But locals embraced the change. You had the posh Stonebriar crowd, and the more humble people who preferred Collin Creek because it was less crowded and you could shop at your leisure. This worked for a while, but every time I come here, more and more shops are closed. All the recognizable stores are gone, except a few. Macys put up a good fight, hanging in there after Dillards had bailed. The employee at Claires still seemed strangely optimistic that this mall has a future, and it was just slow because it wasnt the weekend. But shes too young to know what this mall used to be. If youre like me, and grew up in the Plano area, and spent your weekends here or evenings when you should have been doing homework. Or of you have any fuzzy memories of fighting crowds here during the holidays. If you used to walk these halls, and the smell of candles and popourri would fill your nose from this shop, or you spent way too many quarters at the arcade. Come and walk these halls one more time and tell this place goodbye before it is gone. It is so hard to imagine that these desolate halls used to be filled with people. Last I checked, there are still payphones by the bathrooms. And the bathrooms are still decorated with ivy and forest green that just screams the 1990s. In some ways, it is still frozen in time, but the vacant shops are telling that it wont be around much longer. Yes, its sad to see it in its current state of decay, but you may miss it when its gone.

We were here for my sons middle school function, not much to do and anchor stores seem to be all thats left. Customer service at other chain retailers...VS....could be better served to learn the meaning of true customer service. Its sad to know that if you purchase a $60 bra, and if you go back to the store the next day with the receipt and the tags still on the bra after noticing a small hole in the strap that it is your fault as the customer, that you didnt realize it was there at the time of purchase but it is now your problem, not theirs as explained by the "manager" on duty that evening as I must have put it there myself. I wasnt sure if her logic or attitude in how she said it was more off putting since all I was asking for was to see if there was any way to exchange the bra, I never once asked for my money back. I stopped going to VS at Collin Creek several years ago because of rude staff. I feel if youre going to spend $400 in a store, you deserve to be treated with a little bit of respect. Nothing special, and Im only 38, and there were other women in the store older than myself, and I really dont like seeing it when todays younger generation, especially in a supervisor position, talk down to or treat any customer with disrespect.

This mall is just dead now, every couple of months or so, I used to go here to eat at their Charleys cheese steak in the food court for lunch. Every time I go there, I notice more and more stores close down. This last time (April 2017) I went there, the food court is down to 2 places to eat and sadly my Charleys is gone. I dont know why anyone would even come to Collin Creek anymore. Theres hardly any stores left in this whole mall, just small no name brands that no one even knows. They need to either do a whole 360 degree turnaround for this mall or sell it off to someone who can demolish it and re-establish it as something more appealing for this area.

I came here with a college group fall 13 & this was back then when the mall still had Macys & Dillards was having their closing sales. The mall was starting to decline & their store selection was reminiscent of small city malls. Buckle was the only store besides the department stores I could window shop in. Youre better off going across town to stonebriar since 2 anchors closed. Update: I just checked the directory now, buckle & American eagle has since closed but many of the teen stores are still here. Store selection is very basic, but not quite declining to the level of southwest center yet.

This place needs a revival, but I dont know that theres any hope with Macys jumping ship. I actually like that its quiet, easier to park, and not crowded like Stonebriar in Frisco. Restrooms could have been cleaner. Love the Frullati in the food court. Love Amazing Jakes for the kids to play. There are still many popular shops (Bath and Body Works, JcPenney, Sears, Kay Jewelers, Claires, Victorias Secret, Hot Topic, Spencers) and a few unique places that are just so-so. I would hate to see this place fold.

Definition of death of a mall. During its glory days in the early 80s to 90s this was the mall to be at, but no more. While still very clean and shiny, 2 of 4 anchor stores gone and more empty stores then occupied/opened for business stores. This mall [as was the case of drive-ins] will be a thing of the past soon enough and thats what the most saddening! Most times change is good, but not in this case!! The internet is slowly killing this once great mall and concept. Smh

It was pretty depressing to visit what was surely once a very popular, extremely profitable social venue. Though this place was reminiscent of essentially any local shopping mall in America circa 1990s or early 2000s, it certainly feels as though this particular one was frozen before slowly transitioning into its current state of decay. Having visited on a Thursday, I cant be sure its always desolate but its no wonder so many brick-and-mortar stores are tanking.

The best place ever iS Amazing Jakes. There is enough for the entire family. Kids can go play games and ride attractions. Parents can hang out at the buffet or play mimi golf. Food is great. Rides are great. Just dont ride the go carts. THEY SUCK! The go cart track is tinier than mimi golf. The go carts are so small and hurt you. The staff are all teenagers.
