I have been using this business for many years and have always been pleased with their service. They order parts accurately, they usually can beat MSRP by more than a bit, they offer free advice, the counter help is knowlegeable about what they sell, they have a lot of commonly-sold stuff, and for the vintage enthusiasts, because they have been in business in Dania Beach FL for over 37 years, they have vintage parts too. Hey, they dont stock side covers for your Bridgestone 175 Hurricane Scrambler, but they can fit you with tubes and tirres, as well as a quality helmet from a display of probably a half-dozen manufacturers that runs for about 45 ft. They sell lots of clothing and have a good stock of boots and gloves for both road and off-road riding. Simply-put, having been a rider in south FL for over 3 dozen years, I havent seen or found another store with their selection and pricing. Motorcycle stores selling accessories come and go (anyone recall The Outrider owned by Carl Shipman, on NE 163 St. in N. Miami Beach? Dade House of Hot Shoes? ) but Steve St. Clair has outlasted them all. I tried going to the Ft. Lauderdale H-D store for a leather jacket once, they offered a trade-in if you brought your old jacket, but when I got there, they said that only applies to Official H-D merchandise, which was marked-up about 30% above their other offerings not-Official H-D merchandise! Of course, their ad said nothing of the sort, and not wanting to spend $300 for a $200 leather jacket, I left w/my $$ still in my pocket. Recently Competition Cycle have been increasing their internet presence, because Steve has been able to purchase the leftover stock of out-of-business shops. He passes the cost savings along to customers both in the store and for the merchandise sold online. They use buy-it-now pricing set realistically-low. They arent gouging as some businesses seem to try to do. One of their recent acquisitions was most of "Scooter Superstore of America," which was about 10 outlets mostly in FL whose owner died & the family liquidated the business. Steve bought about 900 tires, hundreds of items of clothing, bike bags and trunks, and some really-expensive Moto Guzzi accessories as the SSOA was a M-G dealer. They are still sorting it out, and selling it for good prices. So if you want chains/sprockets, motorcycle-specific oils, spray cans of lubricants, fluids for both road and off-road bikes, electric bulbs, batteries, and the usual stuff which wears-out on your bike, this is a good source. They carry Tucker-Rocky, Parts Unlimited, Western Power Sports, Lockhart-Phillips, and more. Whenever I have special-ordered items, staff has been quick to call me to inform me that the items have arrived. If there has been a problem with getting items from the parts wholesalers, I have been told of the delay, and the expected date of delivery. Plus, rarely have I paid MSRP for this stuff, which is a big + in my accounting! Try to get service from the Yamaha shop in Davie like that, they want to rip you for shipping, "do you want that Blue Label?" No, I dont want to pay extra for what should already be included in the high cost of your parts, since you get shipments nearly every workday from the manufacturer! I will continue to do business there and can count on the staff to either have the items I need in-stock or to be able to order the items in for me with no extra "b.s." shipping charges. If you want a great selection of clothing, helmets, motorcycle replacement items like tires, batteries, brake pads, bulbs, oils and fluids, then be sure to make it over to Old Griffin Rd. east of I-95 (Griffin Rd. exit and bear to the right at the first traffic light onto Old Griffin Rd, then about 2/3 of a mile on your right) located just south of Ft. Lauderdale International Airport just west of US-1/Federal Hwy. and see for yourself how much stock they have at reasonable prices. And if you like dogs and Formula 1 racing, you and Steve (the owner) will have plenty to talk about.

My first experience on the store a couple of weeks ago was okay, since I got everything that I needed and went straight to pay for my stuff so no interaction with anybody except for paying. That day I had spend around 800 dollars because Im "new" in Florida motorcycling. So I came back around three weeks later and this happen to me: Worse customer service. I never wrote any review before but for this people I decide to "loose" some of my time to write a review. The store is nice, good inventory and concept. The pool table is great. Go to this store knowing exactly what you want and pray to be on the floor because if you need help from someone there, forget about it. People there it seems they are too busy to help you. I asked one of the guys to see a tire catalog and the guy replied: Tire catalog? And I said yes, tire catalog! The guy: we dont have tire catalog. And I said: do you have something for me to look at some tires? The guy: No! And I said: Okay, thank you. So I looked on the counter top and I see what? A huge tire catalog so I stared to look at some tires and I asked a different person if they had in stock one tire and he asked me what size and I told him the size and in less than one second without checking on the computer he said that he didnt have it. So in a very polite way I asked if he could check on the computer just to make sure so he gave me a bad look like he was doing me the biggest favor in the world. And for my surprise what happen? They had in stock the tire that I was looking for. At this point I just wanted to leave this store... That day I was planning to spend around 500 dollars but I just left. So stared to check prices on the internet and I found the tire I was looking for so I decide to call the Competition Cycle Center just for curiosity in how much was that tire and one guy answer the phone like he was running a marathon and really pushing me to speak fast what i wanted because it seems he had something better to do. And again, he said in a few seconds he didnt have the tire I was looking for. Amazing!!! I own my business and I do know that you cant make everybody happy but you have to at least try and these people they are not even trying. Im not going to advertise for another company here because it wouldnt be ethical from me but I went to the competitor and I received a much better costumer experience and Im only shopping from them now. We need to support our local stores thats why Im not buying from the Internet I go to the store and I show the prices on the internet and sometimes they can beat the price and other times they cant but they do what they can do and as a customer I appreciate a lot the effort, very different from this guys at Competition Cycle Center. Im not saying to not buy from them but maybe they need to reevaluate in how they do business so they can improve and be a better business.

Hands down one of the worst mechanics Ive ever been too. Brought in a used bike I bought because I noticed the fork seals were leaking and it needed a new rear tire. Repair took a little long but it was over new years so no fault there. Shipped the bike and moved. The forks were leaking again after the first ride, Competition Cycle told me "To bad" unless I could bring them back to Florida to be repaired, which I was ok with until I tore down the front end on my own. Upon inspection one of the forks was completely bend up at the tipple clamp, this was extremely easy to notice and should have been noticed by any competent mechanic as soon as the forks were out of the triples. So either the mechanics here are extremely inept and did not notice this or they noticed and chose to do the repair anyway when they knew it would fail. Not only this but they only replaced the dust and oil seals not any of the bushings. when they repaired the forks, something I should have noticed on the parts list but if you ask any mechanic they will usually replace the bushings as well while doing a fork job and the bushings on my bike defiantly needed to be replaced as they were extremely worn on one side, due to the bent tubes. Now onto the other small issues, when I got the bike back the front tire was 15psi low on air. I know this isnt something that I paid to get "fixed" but almost all mechanic shops would have done a basic check and filled the tire up for me. Also the bike had its oil extremely overfilled, again not a fault of competition cycle but it is something any other mechanic would have seen and pointed out in a basic check when they returned the bike to me. On the upside they installed the rear tire correctly, so I guess they did earn 1 star. In summary either the mechanics here are simply inept or do not care and I would not trust any repairs done by them.
