Im a coffee snob - not to the point where I can tell you exactly what beans are in a brew, or even identify they type of roast, but I do know, love, and appreciate a well made cup of coffee. Thousand Hills provides a well made cup of coffee! I was diverted by traffic into Roswell, GA this morning and craving a good cup of coffee. I passed all of the usual suspects (some of them a number of times), and suddenly, while slowed down in the morning throng, I smelled actual coffee beans being roasted. I followed my nose - almost literally - and found Thousand Hills. This was a proverbial and perfect coffee "shop". The interior was comfortable, decorated elegantly but not at all fancy or froofy. The young woman behind the counter smiled, said good morning, and welcomed me with genuine warmth - not the well-trained pet greeting you might receive at other coffee shops. The place smelled like fresh roasted coffee beans, and I could even see the roaster through the glass doors. I asked for a plain simple cup of coffee. No "grande skinny decaf no foam" crap. Just plain coffee. She smiled and said, "That will be $1." What?? $1? Yes, folks, a plain simple no frills nothing fancy cup of coffee is just $1. It isnt a monster sized cup, to be sure, but a comforting warm cup of coffee - for $1. The best part? The coffee was excellent. The dark roast (my favorite) was not "burned". It was not bitter. It was not scalding hot. It had richness, flavor, and a nice warmth. The young lady (next time Ill get her name) thanked me and said, "Have a great day." I told her that I already was having a great day, and it was thanks to Thousand Hills. It is out of my way. It easily added 15-20 minutes to my drive in to work, but I think Im going to become a regular. Yes, it really is worth it.

I was completely impressed with this place. When I saw it on my Yelp and pulled up and I was really worried since it is in a church. Boy was I wrong! The place They have a really nice lobby with a few couches and tables with a nice atmosphere to chill or do some work. They even have a small stage where I am guessing they bring bands into play. It was very clean. The coffee I had a Caramel/Vanilla latte mix and my sister had a Peanut butter latte. I was so impressed with how smooth the lattes where. Most places make them too sweet or not enough. They did a great job of a nice balance of coffee and flavoring. Then to find out a 16 ounce was 3.90!! Starbucks is about 5.25 for the same thing and not even close to as good!! The Verdict If you live near by you can save a ton of money getting your lattes here and getting much better coffee I wish I lived near by!!! Special Note This coffee is a big part of helping the poor people of Rwanda! I love supporting them! Land of a Thousand Hills, recognized a simple and tangible opportunity to make a difference in the reconciliation of the Rwandan people. This realization led Golden to start a coffee company that pays a fair wage to the farmers of Rwanda, helps them with their basic needs, and brings a quality product to coffee lovers. My mom read about this place in her AAA magazine and had to come here. We spent probably at least $25 on coffee and croissants, etc. The coffee was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Im not sure what the baristas problem was, but he was not helpful at all. My 70+ year old dad ordered a bagel and then asked if he could get it toasted, the guy just said yea, theres the toaster. He proceeded to put the wrapped up bagel on the plate and make my dad, unwrap, cut in half, and toast his own bagel. Ive been to lots of places that serve bagels, and they always cut your bagel and toast it for you. My mom asked for napkins, and the guy said "theyre over there." Like, get your own blank blank napkins. Then while we were talking, my coffee got kinda cold so I asked if they could reheat it, when they brought it back to me, it didnt even taste any hotter. I ordered one of the pricey large cookies, which was not good at all, it was like 90% chocolate, and 10% cookie, not fresh or homeade tasting at all. I was very disappointed in the service. I like the fact that it is "coffee for a cause", thats admirable, but the cold reception, didnt endear me to want to come back.

Great place to go when looking for a fine coffee of some sort. From French presses and lattes to fine shots of espresso, this is by far the best coffee Ive found around town. The staff is always very friendly. The service is usually great, but being such a great place they tend to get very busy at times throughout the day. Its worth the wait if youre not in a hurry. For those of you wondering about the WiFi, it used to be rather slow, but they have done some upgrades because as of lately it has been much better. If youre over in the Cumberland area, I highly recommend visiting the other shop off of Akers Mill for a great cup of coffee coupled with the best view Ive found of the Chattahoochie. That shop is a little harder to find, but it makes it that much more unique since its so secluded behind one of the Walton communities. Enjoy!

Coffee was very good and absolutely filled the hole in me and my gfs pallet that we missed from our local coffee roasters Bold Bean back in Jax FL. Very cool little house conversion and lots of seating if weather permits (a lot of patio space). Food was great. Gfs drink was sweeter than she would prefer but shes famous for taking only a few sips of anything and never finishing it regardless of if she likes it or not. We also love that the coffee is fair trade and therefore helps look out for the real heroes harvesting in Rwanda. Very important to us. Overall we liked it and will make it our coffee home away from home when we need a drink. Thanks LTH!

This is a GREAT little coffee house. Really good coffee also. I had the half-caff this morning with a shot of vanilla flavor and I wouldnt even know it was only half-caff. I moved here form Athens and I was searching for something that could compare to Two Story Coffee there and I found it. Its a neat little house thats been converted into a coffee shop just like Two Story. I cant wait to try the other flavors. Its a little pricey for a cup but then again its Atlanta, not Athens, so guess its expected. I also got a great ham and gruyere croissant which was delicious. Ill be spending a lot of weekend morning hours here for sure.

You wont expect to see so many young people hanging out in a slow southern suburb town of Roswell. This place is hippy, cozy, artistic, and with a cause. Check on the wooden bicycles from Rwanda place at its shop front. Blue hairs, aviator shades, piercings, live musics, iced coffee drinks,Generation Y, top-down beetle, and a patio, what else can you find to brighten your heart in an old town. Have a drink made of coffee from Rwanda, Land of a Thousand Hills, and try a bite of Muffins, Pastries, Desserts, and Specialty Cakes. Worth to come back again.
