I stopped by at 3:30 PM on a Sunday to pick up a floral arrangement for my Moms birthday and was extremely dissatisfied with the purchase. I didnt realize this when I grabbed them since they were bunched up tightly, but half of them were already dead! I was very embarrassed when my mom opened the bouquet and leaves were falling all over the place. The purple flowers that were in the arrangement were already withered and slumped over. I called and asked to speak to the manager and after a short hold Chasity picked up. I explained that it was my moms birthday and that I bought the flowers for her, but that I was really embarrassed about the condition of the arrangement and wanted to know what my options were to make this right. Not that she had to, but she didnt apologize and seemed a little cold, not the warm and friendly type of response that Im used to like the staff at the Publix at Curry Ford Square, where I always go. She said I could return the flowers and get a refund or exchange, so I thanked her and hung up... After I hung up I thought about what she said and realized that while I was on the phone with her, my mom had already cut the stems, discarded the withered parts and was making the best of her "walking dead bouqet". So I called back and saw that the receipt had the managers name on it, "Steven Cawley" so this time I asked for him by name. He answered and seemed very nice, I explained the call I just had with Chasity and the condition of the flowers and also asked if it was common practice to have to return them because my mom had already put them in a vase... He asked me, "So, your mom likes the flowers?" I told him, "Well, shes making the best out of them and she didnt even want me to call about them."... my mom is a devout Catholic and doesnt like to make an issue out of things... regardless, I paid for a bouquet of Premium flowers that have a 7 day guarantee and they didnt even last 7 minutes... In the middle of my explanation to Steven, he cut me off and said, "Just come back and we will give you a refund."... but his tone was a little different, which completely threw me off and prompted this review. Now, I am appreciative of the refund I was offered without having to return the flowers, but I did not feel like a valued customer. I did not like this experience and I have ALWAYS spoken very highly of Publix supermarkets, but this one will not get my business again. Some might say, "This review isnt fare and at least your getting a refund!", but I go to Publix for the friendly service and their standards, which in my opinion is the reason I pay a little more for certain goods. For this type of customer service, Id go to Walmart across the street. Never again Rio Pinar Plaza... never again.

Let me tell you about this store and its poor management. Before I do.. a little bit about me. The first time I walked into a Publix was in 1987 and Ive been shopping there ever since. I shopped exclusively at one Publix for 15 years and another for 10 before coming to the store for the past four years. I have more bad experiences than good experiences at this Publix. Particularly with the deli department. They are some of the most unhappy employees Ive ever seen and they are more than willing to vocalize their displeasure with their jobs right in front of customers. Another common sight at this Publix is groups of managers standing around talking. I believe the word perception is not in their vocabulary. Perception is reality and when most people walk into this store they will notice a class system between the managers and employees. Today I saw a line of seven people at the deli and 4 at the sub line with one employee working each. Then at checkout I saw three managers standing in a circle doing nothing and completely unaware of the poor customer service going on 20 ft to their right. The only reason I come here is because of the obnoxious high prices at Whole Foods and Fresh Market and the fact that the neighborhood Walmart across the street makes you feel like youre in a third world country. I have many more topics to discuss as to why this Publix is below subpar performance that Ill save that for another day.

Quality of stuff awesome. DELI IS THE WORSE! Most of them are lazy, they dont EVER do the online orders correctly. I ordered an hour before pickup and ordered a whole sub, went to pick up they gave me a half AND was about to charge me for a whole. And when i told them, they got mad at ME as if I did something wrong. I complained to the manager and of course they feed you manager lines, saying they have already dealt with it and sorry again. BULL because if it was dealt with, I wouldnt have the same problems just about every time. The deli department should already be prepared that people are going to come and order multiple subs. Nobody likes subway anymore. So they need to be ready if not go to the back and bake some bread. Its just so frustrating!

Shopping was truly a pleasure...that is until I went to the deli! I am starting to notice the deli department is really lazy and unresponsive. All I wanted was a sub and the staff completely blew me off as though I was not there. Even after a worker assisting another customer with cold cuts called twice for help. One guy stood purposely on the far end acting as though he was busy. There were two other staff just standing around in the back doing nothing. I finally left. I will be contacting somebody in the chain of command. It is the same people time after time.

This is the best Publix ever! I recently ordered prime rib for a holiday dinner and worked with the meat department. They were awesome trying to please us and get the order just right and it was! I have also ordered from the bakery even special requests like ordering a single undecorated cake. Seems they can do most anything to accommodate your needs. When I am in the store, all Publix employees are very helpful and will take you to what you are looking for, with a smile. This had been my Publix for over 13 years and will be for years to come. Thank you!!

Recently moved to the area. I am not impressed by the delivery. Ive gotten subs more than once and everytime they seemed overwhelmed and it took forever to get through the line. Ive even come to get chicken tenders and no one was able to help me since they were all at the sub stations. When someone came from the front to help, it was the deli assistant manager and he sure didnt seem happy to help the growing line of patrons. Otherwise Ive had nothing but great service from all the other departments. Especially the bakery and meat.

The meat department should use latex gloves like the bakery does. The bakery department is excellent. But the Meat department dont use latex gloves and sometimes the steak kabobs are brown /old. Also they dont know how to make something simple like hamburger patties. We pay such high Publix price and would expect better out of the meat department. The Deli and bakery use gloves when handling food, the meat department does not. I seen this on more than one occasion.
