I was considering a new car for some time but didnt think I would qualify considering I have less than perfect credit. I had been driving an 03 Acura TL for a little over a year. The car was very nice but its age showed in styling and features. Not to mention how expensive gas was, $72 every 3 days! A joke. Topping that was the engine light coming on. I needed to get out of this car before I am w out a drive-able car. Sunday July 14th, 2013 I started my search at Carmax in Buena Park, CA. Even though they offered me $3k for my old car, they told me I I would need to put almost $5k down on a 05 Altima 2.5S w 80k miles on it... A joke! Remembering I had read some reviews about Carson Nissan, I decided to call. I spoke to Lacie in Internet sales. I told her my situation and that I needed to get into another car. She said she couldnt promise anything but she said enough for me to make an hour drive to the dealership. I made it to the dealer and was immediately greeted by Rene. I told him I was looking to purchase a fuel efficient car, I have less than perfect credit and a trade in w an engine light on. He said he would grab his keys for the lot and meet us by some vehicles I was interested in. I stopped at a Versa or two and I just cant do it. Sorry Nissan, the outside is nice but the inside lacks whats on the outside. I came across a 13 Sentra w a sticker price of$18K. I asked Rene if we could test drive knowing how upside down I was w the Acura and having only $2k down I was hoping that car would be cheap enough to finance. After the drive we sat down and talked numbers. After filling out an app, David "DJ" Johnson started to walk up. I thought, "Great, here comes the manager to tell me I need X amount of dollars or a co-signer." He did just that lol. In all honesty, DJ was very professional and knowledgeable. After a few back and forth convos about the price and financing, he mentioned he would try to contact the bank and work out a deal. DJ said he would give me a call and let me know the outcome. In my head I was like thats a NO. I hopped in my car and started to back out of the parking space. Next thing I knew, Rene stopped me and said to come back inside. DJ was not too far behind him assuring me that I will leave the dealership w a car. I said are you sure. He said yes, give me 15-20mins. Before sitting down however, DJ told me that the car I test drove wouldnt work and he had to pull up another car. Knowing I cant afford more, I knew he was going to bring me a basic Versa or a used car. WRONG! He pulled up a 13 Sentra SV w ALL of the packages!!! Im talking NAVI, SUNROOF, BOSE 8-speaker system, PUSH START and other bells and whistles. This car was loaded and had a sticker of almost $22k. We sat down and basically DJ worked some magic that not even Aladdins genie could make. I was upside down on my Acura $9k and only had 2k to put down. Dont know how they did it, but I drove off in my brand new car super happy and completely satisfied. They let me put the money down and gave me another month to come up with another portion that I felt fair since I was so upside down. I know its been a long review but I cant even finish everything positive I have to say about this dealership and the people who helped me. Just know I highly recommend this dealership to those who think they dont stand a chance. Shout out to Rene and DJ for their excellent professionalism and help. Ill be back for sure.

If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would not hesitate to do so. Im 20 and shopping around for a car to put in my name. I know my credit, no blemishes, just the fact that its not as lengthy as their usual prospects. Not a problem. My mom contacted the Internet Sales Manager, Mike, who was quite helpful. I did my credit app online and informed him wed be in after 6pm to test drive and talk numbers. Unfortunately due to traffic, we didnt make it until 6:20. Mike had gone home. However, he brought another salesman up to date with all of our information. He had multiple print outs with highlights of our notes and my credit application attached. Let me be clear: Mike was not the problem. The coworker he handed our information over to, however, lost him a sale. The mans name was David, an older gentleman in his 50s, who I saw was going to be a problem from the start. As soon as he ushered my mom and I to the table, he WREAKED of alcohol. Good grief! Are you really at work liquored up? We proceeded to bring him up to date on what our situation was and what we were looking for, although I could clearly see them HIGHLIGHTED on his notes. Were looking for a 2011 Altima to LEASE. Here David goes, trying to push us into a purchase. Excuse me, but I made it clear I want a lease. Thats when he said these words, verbatim: "Youre not going to get a lease. Its harder to lease than it is to buy. You need so many qualifications. You need to own a home..." My mother and I stopped him right there. "Since when do you need to OWN a home in order to LEASE a vehicle?" He swore by it. We werent buying it. He also proceeded to "inform" us that if we leased the car, we would be responsible for the residual, even if I didnt buy the car when the lease was up. Woah, Im not dumb, and I know that is completely inaccurate. My notes clearly said 24-39 month lease. David said "so you want a 60 month lease, right?" Where are you getting this information?! My credit report that he pulled was beyond inaccurate, being almost 100 points BELOW what it is (I know because I have credit monitoring and monitor my information religiously). He then proceeded to badger me about why I had a student loan. Um, because I want an education? Who are you to judge me? He made it seem like it was a pure inconvenience to be there. I didnt even get to test drive the vehicle because he led us right into shenanigans from the start. We left while he went to speak to his manager about God knows what. We didnt bother to say goodbye, as we may have had some choice words with him about that too. All in all, a horrible experience for my first time buying a car. I will never do business with them again, nor will I refer any family or friends to their sales department. If drinking on the job is okay with them, purchasing a car from them is NOT okay with me.

To Buy or Not to Buy....... whos asking the question??? our experience at Carson Nissan was NOT what we expected. You have 2 Women ( intelligent) who have made a pact in the parking lot to only come and see the cars, NOTHING ELSE. When we arrived I thought to myself thats it these guys are sneaky, they can sell sand to an Arab,,,,, and I was that Arab!(Just a figure of speech, no disrespect intended), all I thought to myself was "DONT MAKE EYE CONTACT, DONT MAKE EYE CONTACT". So we walk up and were greeted by several gentlemen who were very polite, well groomed AND did not pounce on us trying to sell us anything that wasnt bolted down. We walked in were asked our names and asked what we were there for and someone would be right with us. Well moving along, My sister and I decided to get a little brave and ask if we could be shown a car. Mind you, WE asked, that when we looked and asked if Oscar could show us a car. He has a very honest helpful look about him and just looks like he would treat us like family. so far so good we thought. My sister and I looked at each other and reminded ourselves "WE ARE JUST LOOKING" well the night when on and we found ourselves in the office talking to Oscar and Irvin. My sister did the talking cause as she put it "this wasnt her first Rodeo" It was for me so i sat back and watch it all unfold and soaked everything in like a sponge. Irvin asked questions, they were answered, we asked questions they were answered,.......... to make a long story short, Irwin and Oscar went out of their way, and NEVER looked at their watches to see how long we had been there. we were treated with Respect, No Double Talk, No Pressure, and were given an abundance of valuable information. so after 5.5 hours, no dinner, tired from working all day, i and excited to say that i am the proud owner of a Used(new to me) Nissan Cube, exactly what I wanted. and to put the icing on the cake,,, just when some people think its Only about the sale?, Oscar pulls me to the side and asks me what music i liked, if I listened to the radio, this was strange to me but then it was clear... he went that added extra mile to make us, (me) feel not just like another sale and a commission for him, but as a valued customer. Oscar asked what music I liked to listen to because he pre set the Radio stations to my top 6. That for me was the Cherry On Top!!! I am forever grateful to Irvin and Oscar for their professionalism, knowledge, Honesty and their FRIENDLINESS. For these reasons i am giving all my coworkers Carson Nissan business cards and telling them they will be VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF. Thank you Gentlemen , and I will see you in a few years to Trade Up!!! Sincerely Martha E. Romero
