Love these guys! Theyre insanely helpful and knowledgeable on all their equipment and apparel. I came in to purchase some mountaineering boots (which I couldnt find anyone in the bay area that knew a thing about them) and Heather at Sunrise taught me everything under the sun. Glad to know that theres a store like Sunrise in the Bay Area with the die-hard experience and expertise that outdoors people need. Would recommend to anyone!

Sunrise Mountain Sports is a rarity in the modern Internet shopping era. Friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable service(that you wont find at REI), and a huge selection of outdoor gear and kayaks to make sure you leave with an empty wallet. Make sure you head upstairs to check out the clearance racks and Western Mountaineering 2nds!

Looking for a kayak to buy for Scouting activities. Rented one to demo and staff was professional and spot on to find a set up that made a 20mile trek adventure pleasurable for a novice with no experience. Highly recommend them. Good deal on wayback 88s from last year. Nice to have a "local" shop to get dialed in on a good setup with mounting and service. I bought my last pair (tua excaliburs) from them back in 99 and they are still going!
