Service is good, and the coffee is great. The menu is seasonal, but the seasonal drinks are well thought out and usually delicious. Do not be afraid to ask questions if youre unsure about what to order. Food is limited to a few pastries from Porcellinos (delicious), some oatmeal options, and if youre lucky youll run into a food truck on their patio. This place is really photogenic and great for making your life look more interesting on Snapchat. Intelligentsia is served here on the regular, but the featured roaster changes sometimes and has not disappointed yet. Heart Coffee Roasters, Parlor Coffee are big names in craft coffee and are the two most recently featured. La Marzocco Strada for you gear nerds. The price might be tough to swallow considering the market for craft coffee in Memphis is in its infancy, but it is a fair price. Get there before 10AM on a weekday and get batch brewed coffee for $2.75 (an intelligentsia blend, I believe). Considering the resources necessary to get that coffee from bean to cup, coffee should be much more expensive in general.

Great staff. Incredibly friendly. I asked for a decaf latte but they had run out of decaf espresso... Instead of suggesting something similar to a latte or trying to to make something similar they just asked if I wanted a decaf black. Coffee was average ( my decaf coffee was decent and tasted worse then something I could make at home). I also tried a chai tea latte and it was so over bearingly sweet. The store is a cool set up. The walls and overall structural theme is cool but the interior design doesnt quite match with the overall architecutal design. Not a huge deal but I did notice it. Also prices are a little steep on all of the products in their store.

Memphis first third wave shop, dedicating part of the store to specialty coffee and the other half to specialty gifts and goods. Their espresso is Intelligentsia and their single brewed coffees are from a guest roaster (rotating). They have your handful of great espresso traditional drinks as well as a handful of sweetened drinks. Small selection of eats are on hand. On the gifts side, there are so many great hand made or responsibly made items which is always changing!

Great drinks, great atmosphere. Need I say more? Ok lemme give you another reason why this is one of the best places in Memphis: the events. I dont believe any other shop in Memphis hosts more events than City and State. To top it off, the owner is so down to Earth and completely fooled me when I met him. Whats even better, theres another location coming, and I cant wait.

Awesome vibe but not my cup of coffee. You may wonder, "then why the five stars?" Its because Im not a fan of light roast coffee and thats all that this place seems to carry. I do enjoy the green tea coconut latte and their toasted caramel and lavender drink. If you like bright, acidic notes in your coffee, order the lattes. If you dont, order a tea.

Great third-wave coffee in Memphis is hard to find, but you can get it here. Service could be a bit more friendly but they pull a nice shot and are knowledgeable about coffee. Plus theres a cool store ("boutique") attached with a bunch of things like jams, ceramics, clothing, jewelry, and all kinds of other great (somewhat hipster) stuff!

The shop is really cool and the coffee is great. This is one of the only places in town to get good craft coffee (pour-overs, cold brew, etc.). I think it costs too much for what you get, but 5 stars because it really is good quality.
