The staff at the Wade Ave store are terrific, helpful and obliging; I have nothing but praise for them. I like to eat there and do so often because I enjoy the company of friends there, and I trust the raw ingredients. But all too often, though, raw is just what I get—and at an exorbitant price. Many of the veggies, notably the green beans and squash, are not cooked enough: the green beans are typically nearly raw as are the squash offerings. Occasionally theyll prepare something thats quite good, like the chicken or vegetable pot pies. Theres good variety on the hot bar though the food is usually bland and flavorless. But the Indian-style offerings are too spicy. I realize that WF is not a restaurant and the kitchen must be unbelievably busy considering all they do, but I do wish the cooks paid more attention to the process: the food sometimes looks and tastes like the chefs simply dont care. I have on many occasions spoken to the cooks, buttonholed managers, written comment cards (both + and -) about the food, but nothing ever seems to change. The offerings at the hot bar at the Six Forks Road store show much more care and thought given during preparation. Undoubtedly they could do better at the Wade Ave store, but there has to be the will—and the management—to make it happen. But in all other respects, this is my top choice among all the food stores in Raleigh.

I have shopped at this Whole Foods location, as well as the Whole Foods in Cary since first moving to Raleigh almost 20 years ago. On the whole, the store has a good ambience and most of the products I like to buy regularly, such as from the Olive Bar, fresh produce, and meat and fish. However, in recent months I have complained twice previously because of products that were out-of-date and, in each case moldy. I got home Friday (Jul 21) evening, and came to open this container of fresh (or not-so-fresh) strawberries on Sunday evening. The strawberries had been refrigerated the whole time, so you can imagine my dismay to find that most of the berries were moldy, and inedible. What I find most irksome is that I have complained in the past about a batch of eggplants all of which were rotten and humus that was moldy. That is three times now, I have come home with products that should not be for sale. I havent had this experience at all in the Cary store, and I dread to think what would happen if this sort of problem occurred with seafood or meat. So what is happening is that someone at the Raleigh store is slacking on the job, and that management are not taking appropriate action even after being informed that theres a problem. For a store that charges a premium for its products, such management issues are simply unacceptable.

I give a 3 for effort. I like Whole Foods despite their higher prices because it is organic and there are lots of tasting stations which adds a little comfort. However, the Whole Foods in the Colonnade is much better (the one in Wilmington, NC even better than that). The sandwich counter is pretty friendly and accommodating. The bakery staff is helpful ( even though slightly sassy :-). I will say that the general staff has improved in the last ten years from when they were completely rude to my parents. It is crammed in the produce. The building and spacing could improve because here I feel like I am in a crammed cattle/farmers market from thirty years ago. The hot bar is slim and uninteresting. I also would appreciate it if the people in the fishing counter would not skip over you for turning around for thirty seconds, but other than that the general stuff is satisfactory.

Its ok. I go there for the Atlantic salmon and a few other things. Its generally overpriced but thats the price you pay for getting the healthy stuff. If only they would price match other grocery stores on the same items then I would buy from them instead of going to the other stores. On the plus side the people that work there are very nice. The main problem is with the yuppies and 1%ers who shop there. They love to cut you off, block an isle or nearly run into you as if they are totally oblivious to your existence. The coffee creamer and sugar area (by the recycle bins) is usually a mess. Parking kind of sucks and the bathrooms are inadequate. The chocolate filled croissants are delicious!

Well, IF YOU LIKE THE FACT that they intentionally downsize some of their products, just to charge you MORE.............then great! Case in point: They USE to carry 365 ORGANIC Canola Oil in the 33 oz. bottle. It wasnt that expensive. However, they no longer carry the 365 Organic in that size. They only have this available in the 16.9 oz. bottle and charge you almost the SAME for what the 33 oz. bottle was! ALSO, it was all over the news recently, about WF overcharging by weight on their products. BUYER BEWARE! However, IF YOU LIKE THE FACT that you can find a good selection of organic food here, then that is great too! LOL

as being rather involved with this Whole Foods I can tell you, they DID review the security cameras, and they DID catch a purse snatcher. Shahla, YOU should not have left YOUR purse unattended... in ANY store... HELLO EARTH CALLING!!! Dont be a moron, and expect Whole Foods to baby you for it. ....On another note, Whole Foods has competitive prices. They can change every week based on availability and cost. Their products are usually cheaper, and better quality as well as a good selection of hard-to find and exclusive items. Not to mention, the store treats its employees right which is why theyre always happy and helpful.

when my purse was stolen in the whole food on wade Ave. The shift manager told me that to review the security camera would take too long to review to find out who have stole my purse. He also told me that in 3 days there has been 6 purses stolen at their store on wade Ave. HELLO EARTH CALLING I want all women to be aware of this situation and know they would not be protected at the whole food as the management doesnt have time to review their security cameras. I really dont think that they even have a security cameras. I would NEVER go to ANY whole food store again.

I just called Whole Foods Market at Wade Avenue and when I googled Whole Foods I saw these reviews which I just read. Most were positive. I think the folks who had something negative to say must be negative people in general. I am a frequent shopper at Whole Foods and have been for years now. I find the staff always incredibly friendly, and helpful. The selection of healthy, organic food, hot bar, bakery, fresh vegetables and fresh sea food and so much more is so awesome.Yes, some prices are higher but, it is worth it to me and my family.
