An absolutely incredibly rude owner. Had his earphones in the entire time and lambasted me for not having an American bank card (as Im an Australian traveller who was using an international card). Like what gives? Youd think hed want the business? He rudely points the ATM machine out but makes a snarky remark that those cards dont work around (but apparently it does in literally every other store in the country Id been too). Pretty funny way to run a business but I guess theyre not banking on customer service to, well, get the customers. Maybe the stock they had? Well what little they had was collecting dust. Wouldnt touch any of the Reds as Im sure theyve been sitting there since before Arnie was thinking about being the Governor.

A Private User

I live 2 doors away from this store so I find myself shopping there rather frequently. They impose a $10 minimum credit card transaction (which is prohibited by their contracts with Visa/Mastercard although that rule is rarely enforced by the CC companies) It is really just a sign of poor customer service. The prices are inflated but that is to be expected for the area. There is parking which is nice for those who dont live in the area, but I cant imagine why anybody would drive to this store.. if you are driving go somewhere less expensive.

If you need an iconic liquor store with great selection, a beach close by and a watery locker to be buried in if you drown, this is the place. LOL, about any post complaining about spending a $10 ATM min. First, if you dont have $10 dont go to Venice. 2nd Davey Jones provides an "ATM MACHINE" for god sakes. Try using it rather then crying about nothing and giving bad reviews off of said aforementioned ridiculous complaint.

Im a local in here every week. Cant help but leave that place with a worse vibe I had going in. Super rude. Get what I go there for though and they have a pretty solid selection. Just get your game face on and go in with a meaner vibe than they have

10$ illegal DEBIT card minimum. Rude, rude owner. Expensive prices. I used to drop by here now and then because they were the only liquor store in the area that carried ouzo but never again.

Easy in and out parking, simple lay out and none of the touristy nonsense. Right around the corner from the beach, so easy access. Love the "local" vibe...

First time into Davey Jones Liquor Locker, staff was friendly and helpful. Great selection of drinks. Few steps from the beach. In and out easily.

Still has the ILLEGAL $10 debit transaction minimum. This isnt something that can be a private business policy like with credit transactions.

Good old Davey Jones. They were open when Venice was very dodgy after dark. I still shop there as a friend lives around the corner
