the service a this place sucks. let me preface by saying that i use their "1st come, 1st serve" saturday service. i took my bike in two weeks ago for inspection and before they even roll it in they tell me they are 4 tech short. cost me $45 for them to tell me it would not pass, the one and only reason listing being "headlight bucket is cracked and ready to fall off. customer has 10 days to return with repairs completed for free inspection sticker." when i left, it had been cleanly broken off the rest of the way, as if to drive home that i was really screwed. but ok, wait, what? customer to complete repairs? youre the service team at a Harley dealership. why is a customer sent off to make repairs? isnt that what im paying you for? secondly, walk over to your parts department and sell me the parts i need! in their defense, the guy did check to see if they had anything in stock. they did not, but at this point instead of offering to order me the brand-name Harley parts that they can charge me retail price for, they send me off to procure the hardware on my own. epic fail of business 101. loss of parts sale, loss of billable service hours. i ordered a headlight online and tried to get it swapped, but it turned into a bigger job than anything im capable of, so had to bite the bullet. i brought it back this morning for them to install and re-inspect (and re-charge a second inspection fee). 9am, drop bike off and im told they are two techs short and "let me find out if we can do this today". they determine they will, and i leave the bike with them. 10:15, get a call that the third party headlight assembly that i had to buy because they wouldnt sell me anything doesnt quite fit the mounting bar, the solution being they have to drill the hole bigger and needed my permission. go ahead. 12:30 - went back to the dealership. now the headlight sits too low and they have to "fabricate" a piece to raise it up. looks like they miraculously found something they can use, but when i asked for an update around 2, they said that the piece was preventing the handlebars from turning all the way. not sure how they resolved this because there are no noticeable parts or modifications to the bike, just a different bracket than the one that came with the assembly. around 3:30 they came out to tell me that the headlight was done, but that the bike fails inspection "due to left handlebar switches being broken, the control levers having flaking/sharp bits of chrome." handlebar switches and chrome. what? why was i not told about this two weeks ago, the first time they "inspected" my bike? and chrome? theyre failing me for style points now? get a wire brush and scrape the rest off! give me a wire brush, ill do it myself right now! control switches? my signals work fine, but if i need a new cover, fine, ill buy one. should we just go to the parts counter and see if you have them? essentially they tell me nope, they spent too much effort on the headlight and didnt want to spend any more time working on my bike. after 6hrs* of "fabrication and wiring" they let some chrome and a control switch stop them, and again fail to even make the attempt to sell me the necessary parts. essentially they are saying they dont want to sell me parts and they dont want to work on my bike and charged me $276.98 and sent me on my way, clearly not wanting any more of my business. congratulations guys, youre getting what you want. * only billed for half the hours and inspection fee was waived. considering i wasnt given a sticker, i dont see why i should consider the inspection a billable service. i was told that the tech doing the headlight work wasnt even licensed for inspections.

Chester Springs HD is one of the best dealerships in the Tri-State area. No other dealership has the things they offer. HD dealerships in general, only cater to the new HD enthusiasts and push only for new sales. Tracy (GM) of HD of Chester Springs, knows what makes them what they are today. Loyal customers, who return because they are treated like family. They also have special events for the people who own and enjoy antique Harley Davidsons. They even go as far as having old MC bike shows and rides. Their staff is helpful, and the service dept has some of the best mechanics in the state working for them. Including a 3rd generation HD mechanic, Steve Wensel, whose grandfather Milton P Wensel, had one of the first HD dealerships on the East Coast. Miltons son Ken, continued on with his own, where Steve learned from one of the greats. I have gone to many dealerships, but now I have found the one I choose to give my business too and enjoy my hobby with.

The absolute worst. They could not diagnose a bogging down problem. Kept telling me they couldnt get it to do what I was saying. Bull, it was perfectly obvious in all gears. Finally after a couple arguments and a couple of trips back they said they got the bike to do what i was saying. I should have taken my bike out of there then, but I didnt. Thinking that they found it they could fix it. Probably more than a 1500.00 later problem still wasnt fixed. Kept telling me it was something different each time they would make a repair or hook it up to their computer. Completely fed up with these %%(*(*&^% i took it to another dealer. Problem diagnosed and fixed. This was not a hard problem to diagnose. Bad fuel pump. Come on what are these guys doing there?? Taking advantage of people that arent motor savy. They lost me as a customer and a reference.

I want to thank the people at Chester Springs HD from the GM, to the parts people, and service people for giving me a very good first experience with some issues that I was having with my bike. I bought it at another dealership and they did not offer anything concrete to do to take care of the problem I had. Called down to Chester Springs HD. They told me to bring it down so they could see first hand the problem. They offered several suggestions and made sure I got the most bang for my buck. They did the work and the bike is a different bike. I got this feeling they will be seeing more of me in the future. Thanks a lot Chester Springs Hd. You did good!

These folks are absolutely awesome! My wife and I were on our anniversary trip traveling through Pennsylvania on our Ultra Limited and our gear shift lever broke. We were lucky to be within a mile of this dealership. The people in the service department were amazing... they repaired our bike and had us back on the road in under an hour. This H-D dealership is first-class! I highly recommend!!

My husband and I drive 45 min out of our way just to go to Smaltz HD. We have other dealers near us but nothing compares to the service, specials, friendly workers, ect. We buy all our bikes there, we have all our services dont at Smaltz, and I even got my bike custom painted there. They made it a stress free experience. An awesome HD dealer with awesome people working there!
