Im giving Sears Auto Center in Annapolis 3 stars for these reasons: PRO - the end result of any work Ive had done here is always satisfactory and the pricing and selection for tires - which is mostly what Ive come here for - is even better than that "other" tire chain shop. CON - their "scheduling" and the time it actually takes to get work done is severely lacking. This seems to be echoed in other reviews here. The latest visit occurred yesterday. I set up an appointment for my girlfriends car to get the tires rotated at 3 pm. This was on a Wednesday afternoon and it was a free rotation since she had the tires installed there. I originally tried to get an appointment for Saturday morning, but that was already booked when I called nearly a week prior. Thats just how busy this place apparently gets. Anyway...we show up at 3 and get checked in and the gentleman tells us it would be an hour and a half before the car was finished. I was a bit shocked because it should only take half an hour to rotate tires...Ive done it before in about 30 minutes in my driveway, with nothing more than a floor jack and a set of jack stands. He tells us there were other appointments they were finishing up, and walk-ins, and the old "short staffed" line that seems to be rather repetitive each time I have been in (and others too, judging from other comments). He did say theyd "do their best to get it done earlier." We went and killed time in the mall and by the time we were finished window-shopping it was well past the hour-and-a-half window we were quoted. By the time we made our way back to the auto center, it was about 5:15 and we saw her car sitting back out in the lot, seemingly ready. She never received any call stating as such. We went in and picked up the car since it was ready. On a side note, while we were waiting to be checked out, there was another customer there waiting to pick his vehicle up. He said he had dropped it off at 2:30 for a battery change and was told it would be a 3 hour wait...for a 10-minute battery change. His vehicle still hadnt been looked at. Thats absurd. If I had my tools with me I wouldve taken care of it for him right there. In summary...they do reasonably good work, Ive had tires installed here that beat competitors pricing and selection. Just dont expect to get work done quickly or at the drop of a hat. Youre gonna be waiting a while, even if you schedule an appointment.

I know that I cannot give them a million negative stars, yet I believe that I can protect innocent people from taking their cars to this service by explaining my story. I purchased a Groupon ticket for oil change from Sears. First, I took my car to this place, yet I was declined because I did not have an appointment. Yes, it was a reasonable reason. Then, I got an appointment from the Crofton Sears. I took my car on Friday to the service in Crofton. They said that we cannot get oil change done in 2 hours. I told them that I got an appointment. They said that even you had an appointment, we cannot do it. I, then. got an appointment this place today. I arrived there 2 40 pm for 3 pm appointment. I left my car for oil change, and came back 4 pm to the service. They did not even touch my car. They did nothing. I left my car 1 30 hour with an appointment for only OIL Change. They did nothing within 1 30 hours. I have high blood pressure. They devastated my tension and made me crazy. No responsibility, no business ethic in this place. I am hoping that people can read my message and rethink before taking their cars to the store.

My car had been shaky and noisy for about two weeks. My dad told me it was the hub bearing on the passenger side and to take it to get fixed. I stopped into Sears Auto Center about 2 hours before I had to work, just to get an estimate. The older gentleman was very impatient and short tempered and would strike up conversations with other employees while trying to "help" me. They finally got my car back into the shop and the same guy came out and told me the driver side bearing needed to be replaced and it would be $450-$500. I told him that was outrageous, I wasnt going to pay that, just take my car out. Then they took me into the shop where the mechanic showed me the driver side wheel, and said it was going to fall off if I drove it, I told him that was a risk I would take. They tried to take advantage of me since I am a young female and assumed I was a moron. I took it to a shop a week later (my wheel never fell off) and it was the front RIGHT hub bearing that needed to be replaced and cost $100!! Save your time and money and go somewhere else!

I am highly disappointed by the service at Sears Auto in Annapolis. At first I had a great experience. I was having some alignment issues and the gentleman really helped me out with the issues, so I bought a years alignment. I was still having some alignment issues, so I brought it back and Joe the mechanic found a serious issue with my car, which he fixed for me at no charge. They have great mechanics, but its a shame that the people at the front desk have such poor customer service. When Ive tried to call I have been hung up on, cut off and been put on hold for long periods of time. The last time I had my car here a gentleman called me to tell me that my car was ready to be picked up, but wouldnt tell me what they had done on my car and told me that I could drop it off again if it wasnt fixed. As most know, not having a car is a huge inconvenience and their lack of willingness to solve the problem is wrong. The lack of quality customer service is the reason why I wont be returning to get my car serviced.

Im sad to even write this review because I had a lot of faith in Sears. I brought my car here a few times for simple things and didnt have any issues. Even recently my water belt broke and I was broken down in the middle of the road and I had my car towed to Sears and they did the work fine. However in addition to the belt being an issue, my check engine light was on and my car was having a hard time starting in the morning and it wasnt the battery. Mentioned this when I took my car back about 3 more times after the belt and they couldnt fix the problem. Every time they thought they fixed it I would pick up my car and the issue would still be there. It was very frustrating. Finally took it up to Pep Boys and the cost and service was much better. The customer service at Sears is ok, but the technicians must not be too knowledgable. Overall Im done with Sears, they got enough of my money and my car is not much better.

The service is ok, the customer service is terrible, took us 45 mins just to pay for the work we had done and one of the workers just walked away from a line of people ready to check out just because her day was up. They will promise you one thing over the phone and say something totally different once you get there. They say they will call you when the work is done yet i have had to call back each time just to find out the car was finished. One time i waited on hold for over 15 mins just for the employee to come back and tell me my vehicle was done. I can say they do work hard to earn your business, but once they got it, they could care less about you. Overall we only use them because I have a sears credit card, otherwise we would go some where else. This Sears use to be on spot with there work and customer service but they are slacking big time now days.
