I joined a group of friends last week for a Girls Night Out dinner at The Potpourri House. Our waiters name is Jay, and he was fantastic! We had a few ladies in our group with special dietary needs. He was eager to help them explore their menu options and was very helpful in offering suggestions when we asked for them. He was attentive to our group and everything we ordered (drinks, salads, entree, dessert) were prepared and served very promptly. We never had to ask for refills because he was watching our waters and teas closely. There was a wide range of menu options, and we had a hard time choosing what to order. I ordered the filet mignon with new potatoes and green beans. My steak was cooked like I ordered (medium well), and the entire meal was delicious and presented well. The dessert I ordered was a chocolate-lovers dream! The atmosphere was very nice- quiet, relaxed, and classy with out being uncomfortable. I plan to go back soon, and I would certainly recommend The Potpourri House to anyone.

I have eaten at the Potpourri House numerous times, and I am never dissapointed. I do have a hard time ordering anything other than the soup, salad and potato bar. On this visit, the food was very fresh. I had a salad I havent tried before; it was black beans, bleack eyed peas, and a variety of chery tomatoes. It was fabulous! the tomatoes were very crisp, and sweet. I also tried the potato cheese soup this visit. It was scrumptious!! Very creamy, and the potatoes melted in your mouth. I usually opt for my good old standy, Ranch Dressing, on my salad. This time I decided to have something a little different and healthier. I had the tomato basil dressing and I am now a fan!!! It must be homemade because I have never tasted a tomato basil like that before! Spices perfectly blended, not too spicy, just right for my taste. The atmospher is always enjoyable, and I find myself searching for special treasures in the shop after most visits!

Potpourri is one of our favorite places to go, not only to eat, but to shop, when in Tyler. The restaurant offers a wide variety of foods from Chicken Lou Al (Dads favorite) to the amazing Salad Bar (Moms fave) to the ribeyes and beef tip tenderloins. And we always have to get some of their pimento cheese to take home! New menu as of a couple months ago with more to explore than weve had the chance to do... yet! For gifts in Tyler, theres no better selection in a wide variety of prices. Lots of brands of candles to choose from-- we like the Tyler Candles and Circle E Candles best. Our kids found some great deals for Christmas this year in the clearance gift center that seems to always have some great 50-75% off items. Cant say enough good about Potpourri and their staff who are always helpful, both in the restaurant and the store. Its a one-of-a-kind place that we havent found anything to compare to.

Im not your typical food critic, but I do love to eat. The Potpourri House is, by far, one of my favorite places to eat in all of Tyler. I almost always indulge in the salad bar. But to call Potpourri Houses salad bar a salad bar sells it short. This is not your "run of the mill" salad bar. Baked potatoes with all the trimmings and at least two delectable soups of the day make this salad bar a perfect choice for any meal. The pimento cheese and cornbread salad are two of my familys favorites. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The Potpourri House is a great place for a date night, yet its also very family friendly. My nine year old son and I almost always choose Potpourri House for our "date" nights!

My husband and I went there for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner were not from this area and this restaurant was listed as one of the top 10 in Tyler Texas its a nice place but we were disappointed when we ordered the filet mignon and found it extremely tough my husband ate it anyway I attempted to eat it but could not swallow it it was very tough I expressed that to the waiter who came back and offered me a dessert. I turned it down and thank him we will not be back Im from Houston Texas there are many fine restaurants there and the Kiepersol in Bullard is a fine restaurant they have excellent filet mignon I think the potpourri house could learn from them how to prepare a filet mignon

Waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Was determined to try something different this time and ordered the tilapia ponchatrain; not a lot of flavor but was okay. The green beans were awesome and full of flavor; would definitely opt for the mashed potatoes next time as opposed to the new potatoes. I ordered the Petit Brulee for dessert and it was fabulous!!! Presentation and dessert was amazing!! Loved the line of jewelry in the boutique called "Perch"; so many other great things. Overall my experience was wonderful and the atmosphere at The Potpourri House is always perfect for a night out with friends or family! You will not be disappointed!!

My wife and I met a group of friends at the Porpourri House for an excellent dinner tonight. I had the Standing Pork Roast with the Raspberry Chipotle Sauce. It was the most tender and tasty pork I have ever eaten. The meat just fell off the bone! I topped the meal off with a delicious piece of Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream! We had fun chatting and listening to the live musicians play throughout the evening as our waitress took great care of us. As we left, my wife picked up a pair of earrings that matched her dress in the boutique. The Potpourri House is one of the "gems" in Tyler you dont want to miss! Great food, great atmosphere, and great shopping!

I always appreciate the many entrée choices on the PPH menu. This visit, I had the special which was a chicken breast, covered with crab meat and topped with a berry sauce. It was very enjoyable and offered great depth of flavor. I was only slightly disappointed that it was not accompanied by a vegetable or starch. Finished off the meal with the “out of this world” coconut royale cake topped with pecans. The service was tremendous… I was with a medium size group and the server had no issues keeping up. The excellent food, along with the live music and dancing make this a one of a kind opportunity.

Horrible, I was a big fan of the Potpourri House for years. I dont know what happened to the management and chefs but the food was horrible. The last time I went there is was bad, this time was worse. I hope they seriously read and take steps to improve the food to the quality it used to be a few years ago. I wouldnt mind paying a little more for the same quality of food they used to serve a few years ago but this current crop of cooks and managers will drive them out of business. I am giving them tough love because I expect more from the place I used to look forward to going.

The atmosphere was very nice and quiet and made it easy to visit with our party at the table. Our server was Jay and he did a fabulous job. He was very informative about the menu, made sure our experience was perfect and very conversational. The strawberry salad, which is my favorite thing, and the turtle cheesecake were perfect. The only thing that could be better was the New York Strip. It did not have much flavor at all. The Christmas items in the store were very appealing and fun to look at. Our party had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back again.
