Ive been using Virgin Mobile as a service since 2011. Ive never had any problems that I would consider extraordinary or strange. There are some places in New York City where the signal could be better, but I think thats true of most providers, especially in lower Manhattan where the tall buildings leave almost everyone with only 1 or 2 bars. Im a little confused about other peoples comments here. Ive never had to talk to Virgin Mobile customer service because the website is self-explanatory. There are step-by-step walk throughs for switching your phone out on the website. Getting a new iPhone (a problem someone mentioned here) is as simple as ordering one through the website. They have all the newest models. When it arrives, swapping your service to the new handset through the website takes about 10 minutes if youre being really slow and methodical about it. If I had a portable charger with me, I feel confident that I could pick up a VM phone and swap my service to it on the street in about 15 minutes. I feel like these peoples reviews are based on negative experiences that result directly from their failure to pay attention and read instructions. I pay $32 and some change per month for unlimited text, talk and data. Unless some new company with a mind-blowing business model shows up on the scene, or I move outside VMs service area, I dont see myself ever changing providers. Why pay 4-5 times more for the same service I can get with VM?

RIPOFF: Virgin Mobile has low monthly rates, but non-existent CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you are ever in trouble, you will NOT get help from Virgin Mobile. When I lost my new VM phone and suspended service to protect the account, I tried calling Customer Service using my old phone, hoping to use it temporarily until the new phone arrived. The recording said it didnt recognize the phone as being connected to my account (it was also a branded Virgin Mobile cell phone) ; the recording would pick up saying, "We dont recognize this account. Please call Customer Services" and hang up. An Infinite loop of badness. Virgin Mobile doesnt offer web chat support and franchised shops on the street wont do anything, so if your phone is down for ANY REASON, they dont know you and THEY WONT HELP YOU. Perhaps if you pay the extra for their "insurance plan", theyd be more helpful, but that would be a modern insurance racket. Boost Mobile is part of the same company and has factory stores on the street, but was equally disinterested regarding VM customer problems.

The worst phone company I have ever dealt with. The customer service is non-existent. I called yesterday evening to inquire about a different plan. I was placed on hold and transferred to several different departments all of which for some reason could not help me. The people I talked with could not speak a word of English and were not understanding me. 35 minutes later, I then was transferred to a lady who when I inquired about a different plan replied "you want to cancel your plan"? No I replied and then "click" she cut of my service and ended my account. Helpless for 14 hours with no service for which I am paying for I had to wait til they opened at 9am today and call from a pay phone. I called them back and another lady from the service department said I needed to make a payment that was due in a few days before she could re-activate my account even though i did not want it cancelled in the first place. I do not recommend this cell phone company and will NEVER deal with them again!!

Virgin mobile is a rip off! I had purchased a iPhone 5s over 2 years ago, and while paying the monthly fee I also paid for the insurance. After the 2 years, I have reported my phone lost. When I called Virgin Mobile I was told to pay $175 to get a new phone. When I called multiple times a day within the week, I was told to do same which was call the insurance or pay the $175. However, on one of the days I had called I was told that if I am paying insurance for the past 2 years every month it is true that I should get my phone replaced. They had also said that I would have to purchase a phone through Apple since my previous phone was an apple product, but if I purchased the iPhone 5s through the Virgin Mobile company why do I have to purchase a new phone through Apple? I continued to call for over a week and still havent received my phone. I recommend that Virgin Mobile should not be a company to sign up for! They steal your account money and dont want to return it!

On Nov 26th I purchase a phone with this company which supposed to be deliver to me within 3-5 Business days, today is Dec 12th and havent received any phone. I called Virginmobile for the past week and every call that was made they told me they have to build a case and someone will get back to me, no one never did, my card was charge. I decided to call everyday to ck the status. And everyday I get the same BS answers from this company. I think this company is a rip off. Please be aware. Theyre displaying phones for sale and the moment you make the purchase your card will be charged and you will never receive what you order. Horrible Customer Service!

This company sucks! You cant believe anything they tell you over the phone if you even get to talk to someone. I tried to make sure that if I bought a new iPhone from their website, I would still get the discounted price and NOT have my plan changed and I get conflicting stories. They want to charge me more if I do it directly with a sales rep instead of going online so that caused me to waste another 20 minutes, but if you go online to do it they will change your plan from $35 per month to $50 per month eventually. Scam artists!!!!!!!!

You get all same services talk text wifi like other companies but monthly is way cheaper. I have been with them for many years. Have brought many friends to switch to virgin mobile. But you will hate their online customer service. They are not English speakers. I hate it and so frustrating Whenever I try to buy phone from them ( gifts for friends) . Impossible, no live people talk to u. I have to pay someone to buy for me.

I think Virgin mobile is a great company. They have the flexibility to change plans every month. Also they have some great phones. Customer service is great also great. Never had any problems with them. Been with them for 10 years. Love their $35 plan, it has unlimited text and web. They also have other plans that will fit your budget, like the Paylo plan.

Ive been using their (the stores) services for a few months now, buying a phone, paying my bill (with Virgin Mobile). Ive never had an issue, service is standard, not stellar but it does what it does: what I need, when I need it. It is also the only VM store in the city. I wish it werent the case.

i love this stores service and they always have better offers than virgin mobile onine last week i bought my galaxy s3 here and they gave me a great deal plus a free case as part of their in store program they always tend to helpme out a bit more than required and today im a happy customer
