Theres just no excuse for the ridiculously high prices in this store. I understand they cant compete with places like Petco on price, but they are much more expensive than the other locally owned pet shops in the area. Its just a total rip-off. When they opened the store years ago, I asked about a discount on cases of food. They replied that they dont offer case discounts because they give free delivery. Well, all the shops in the area give free delivery! I just hate being dealt with in this way. The staff are nice enough, but they know nothing about animals. When I returned something for store credit, they gave me a hard time for waiting a WEEK to bring it back, and made me feel they were doing me a huge favor to accept it. Just lousy treatment of customers all round.

Are these people for real? Who is buying from this place. I just called to ask about a 27lb bag of dog food, for which i normally pay $40 at my pet store downtown, but with having moved to a new neighborhood, i need something local, the woman on the phone quoted me $79.99!!!!!! What???? Thats actually what I said to her. I was dumbfounded and horrified that people can just get away with highway robbery and annoyed with the idiots who shop here whereby letting the owners believe its perfectly ok to charge this much! In the era of the internet dont they understand that people are now savvier than ever and WE KNOW HOW MUCH THIS STUFF COSTS!!!!! I was hoping for something local but with those prices Id sooner walk to Ohio!

I live around the corner and have been going to Pet Market for years, and felt the need to respond to the bizarrely negative reviews below. Dont let these fool you. Pet Market is well-stocked with both premium and lower-quality pet foods, toys, and sundry accoutrements, and the service ranges from decent to very pleasant. The prices arent low, but seem in line with the other neighborhood stores Ive visited in NYC. All in all, a perfectly reasonable place to shop -- and entirely undeserving of the negative press seen here.

I went to Petland Discounts and got my dog some boots for the winter months. They were 17.99 at Petland Discounts. The SAME EXACT package of dog boots were 49.99 at this place!!! I cant believe they have such ridiculous markups o their products! I would avoid this place

The other person who wrote a review is sooo on the mark. I just came back from the store and the raised their prices up $3 more for a bag of treats. Shop on line and buy from the retailer if need be. This place is such a freaking rip off

I am thrilled to have this small but reliably well-stocked and nice pet food and supply store in the neighborhood. My dog loves visiting for treats and it is always a pleasure to interact with the stores cat and staff.

nothing here has a price which would be fine if everything wasnt way overpriced. a 4.5 lb bag of dog food is being sold for half of what the 30 lb bag goes for. not even online: at a store across morningside.

I like this place. Cute little boutique sized store that is way too overpriced, but super convenient, and the people are friendly.

Good selection but high prices on natural pet food. 5% discount on cases.
