So I went there around 2:30pm on a sunday looking to buy myself a new pair of turf soccer boots. Didnt have much selection, but it was turf I was looking for anyways, so that wasnt the bad part of my experience, I figured turf selection would be minimal anyway. I pick two pairs and ask an employee to see each in a pair my usual size + one half up just in case they run small. So they were busy and full of tourists ok I get that, but 40 minutes later and after two requests of the staff to see whats going on, I still didnt have anything to try on!!!!! To add insult, two sets of other people who requested boots after I did, got theirs to try on! The salesperson on the floor said its the style I chose and that their backed up? Look I get that your busy, but 40 minutes just to try a pair of shoes on!?!? Never acceptable, no matter the style. Just bs from him to buy time, for what I dunno? I have a feeling they realized they never put a request in the first place. But I was very cleer I wanted to try them on. In fact the salesperson is the one who said I should get one half size up too. So screw it, I told the salespersons forget it and I just left, I wanted to get my pair of turf boots I needed, but at that point with the 40 minutes I waited and the chaos going on around me with tourists I said forget it. Last ditch effort I went to the Adidas flagship store on Houston instead. Took the 6 train down in 15 min. There was far less tourist activity, and less of a mob, but found a pair that fit me happily in about ten minutes. Although granted service in general wasnt so attentive their either. What really pissed me off was that at Nike after a 15 min wait, no salesperson at Nike made an effort to follow up with who ever it was in charge of running up the shoes. And when I said I was leaving I wouldve expected them to follow up one more time or at least get a manager involved. Instead they did nothing and said ok goodbye. I was thinking of buying a jersey and some socks along with my boots at nike, but the whole 40 minute wait just to try on boots turned me off from everything. Not sure I want to go back to that store, Ill buy Nike products as needed still, just not from this tourist trap location.

I have made 2 trips to the Nike store on 57th St in NYC and am am disappointed with this store. Being a flagship Nike store, one would expect them to carry most items or have heard of specific Nike items. On both visits to the store, I was told that the item I was seeking they did not carry and was no longer available and the second item they had never seen. I even pulled up a pic of the item on my phone and the rep looked confused as to what I was showing her (mens running singlet). (This is very worrying as this rep, I later found out from our ongoing dialogue, is a track runner and has been running sprints since she was in junior school). This was either not true or they were not able to assist me any further for finding either of these items (running singlet, Lunaracer+3 sneakers). I was also given a hard time when trying to use my gift card, which I wanted to us to purchase a pair of sneakers. I was initially told that I could not do this over the phone or online but had to come into the store to do that transaction, hence my trip to the store. I was then told they did not have my color in stock but they could place my order for me and ship it to me, but in doing so I would not be able to use my gift card. I was then told I had to make another 2 further purchases as only one gift card can be used per transaction. I was told this was store policy, but there was no mention of this nor was I shown any details about this policy when I asked at that moment. Very dissatisfied by this whole experience. My experience at the Nike Flatiron store was completely different. The staff in the Flatiron are thoroughbreds by comparison and really know their product line very well and have a lot of knowledge. If you want my advice, do not bother with the 57th St branch... go straight to the Flatiron branch to do your Nike shopping.

Being a former employee of the store, I will say that Nike [as a brand] goes above and beyond to create a unique shopping experience for consumers. The store is always well kept and stocked to standard. The displays are always shopable and there is always a sick initiative to greet you on the first floor. Ive read a lot of negative reviews on here. I am by no means an advocate for the company, I left for a reason, but the store experience is great. Events are held nearly daily on site. The Nike community is large and everyday is a new and exciting experience. The drawbacks of such a massive space will, of course, be a large crowd. Service is limited to the number of people working the floor, which in contrast to the traffic on a busy day is nominal. In a flagship location, you must expect some kind of wait. The stock rooms are rarely located on the same selling floor as a shoe. The shoe you try on may pass through 3 other employees hands before reaching you after being requested by a store worker. Be patient. Sizes at the flagship sell as fast as they come in. If a shoe is popular, there WILL be limited sizing based on demand. As far as specific styles and items go, Niketown does not have everything. There are never sale items. Only what is new and current "premium" product is stocked. Nike Lab product and Gyoksou is sold downtown on mercer street and rarely spoken about at Niketown, as it is its own product line exclusive to that store. As much good as I can say about Niketown, the experience is not for everybody. If you want to be wowed by amazing displays and new product, this is for you. If you desire to pick up a product on the fly, you are looking for sale product, or you are looking for a specific item, I suggest shopping elsewhere. There are tons of other stores that carry Nike product in the city of New York.

Well now. If youre looking to get ANYTHING Nike, then youve arrived at the right spot. What better way to put a Nike flagship store than right in the heart of 5th Avenue on 57th St. If you can navigate through the sea of tourists, which Ive gotten pretty damn good at, then you might actually find your way to Niketown. If youve been to any other Niketown across the country, then you know what to expect. From top to bottom, Niketown has everything youd possibly want by Nike. The store itself is divided into categories such as: womens, sportswear, etc, so it makes it really easy to find what youre looking for. Right when you enter, youre engulfed in a huge display right near the front entrance. Depending on what Nike is featuring, this display consistently changes, but for the most part, youll find all the Nike+ gear as well as the featured stuff. This floor does get pretty packed from all the tourists taking pictures and standing idly like sheep, but just walk around them to the escalator to head to the other goodies. If youre looking to come here to get some exclusive NSW or Jordan releases, you might want to think again. Nike now does a Twitter RSVP for these exclusive releases, so dont really bother lining up because for the most part, theyll be already spoken for. If for some reason theyre magically in stock, youll find all the Jordan and sportswear stuff on the top floor. Customer service is pretty hit or miss here because of the enormous foot traffic. Youre not going to get the personal attention that youd get at 21 Mercer, but then again Niketown has pretty much the whole Nike catalogue for you to pick and choose from. From shoes to clothing, if you want anything that is Nike, you know that if you come here, youll most likely find it.
