Came here one evening with a group of 2. We were easily seated even though there were some people ahead of us. They just had a bigger party. In terms of getting a seat here, I would recommend no more than a group of 4, that way you dont have to wait that long. For food, we got the korean donut (Ho-Dduk) and the royal milk tea with boba (selected the almond milk option). I thought the donut was really good. Not overly fried and had a nice soft texture to it. It was served warm with a scoop of ice cream on the side. The melted brown sugar and cinnamon really rounded off the dish. I would have preferred more chopped walnuts. Thats my only recommendation in improving the dish. The apples in it gave added texture. The ice cream was not overly sweet and did not have a heavy milk taste to it. Overall, I thought this dish was mildly sweet despite having tons of sugary components. After trying this, the royal milk tea is not sweet at all. I would definitely try the drink first before eating the donut. The boba was soft and chewy but relatively flavorless. They definitely did not let it soak in the sugar from the "broth". The tea was very good though. Didnt skimp out on getting the tea flavor infused into the drink. Only concern is that they do charge extra for the almond milk which was not listed on the menu and was not informed by the wait staff. They could also make the donut cheaper. As of 12/2014 it costs 5.99 and the way our economy is doing, it can only get pricier. Service is alright. Its a very busy place and the staff is just running around because of the fast turnover. The decor is contemporary and feels like an upscale Asian coffee shop. We didnt get a chance to try other things but I would recommend this place for the two items aforementioned and I would definitely come back here again.

Cool place to hang out on a hot day. Even as a group of seven, it wasnt hard to find a table since this place is huge (at least double the seating as your average Starbucks or similar coffee shop. We tried two different types of bingsu (shaved ice). First was the "OG", black sesame shaved ice with strawberries, red bean, and mochi. It was good, but I liked the honey and boba one even better. Not as fancy looking but had the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Overall, both were good. The shaved ice itself was smooth and not crunchy or overly icey like places Ive been to in the past. Edit 6/18/17: went back a few days ago at night to grab a bubble tea. During the day its self seating (with buzzers for your orders) but in the evening theres table service. You can still order out. I got the Ying Yang bubble tea (half coffee half milk tea) which was delicious but on the smaller side compared to other places. Also their honey boba are like next level, a bit sweeter than Im used to but so amazingly chewy.

Grace Street specializes in ho-dduk, a Korean doughnut-type dessert that is served with vanilla ice cream and a walnut brown sugar syrup. The relative simplicity of this desserts construction is a good decision - the individual component flavors and textures really get a chance to shine. There are other pretty good desserts available here, but I think theyre largely superfluous - the ho-dduk completely outclasses everything else and is hard to find one of this quality anywhere else in the city. It also pairs well with their well-crafted espresso drinks, in case you want something to cut through the rich sweetness of the ice cream and syrup. The dark-stained wood and halogen lights are surrounded by an intriguing gallery of photographs, and create a warm, trendy environment to relax and chat over dessert. The mix of standing tables, benches, and sofas allow for whatever level of intimacy youd like - Id highly recommend adding this to your date night rotation!

My friend who lives in NY brought me here to try their shaved ice because apparently it was "The Best". I agree, this place has the best shaved ice Ive had since visiting Taiwan. I love their menu options, which includes coffee, tea, Boba/bubble tea, and soju. And you have the option of creating your own shaved ice combination (but its extra). The staff were very attentive, they were there when we needed anything but didnt hover which I like. And they were always smiling. Also, the establishment itself is very brightly lit with modern simplistic decor. Its like a lovely little cafe. My friend had the "O.G" and I tried the "Cookie Monster"! Both were really good in my opinion! And the presentation was awesome, the strawberries were thinly sliced and fanned out to look like flowers, and the shaved ice portions looked like mountains. A reasonable dessert for the price range (~10 USD)

I came here for dessert on a Thursday night after dinner. It quite busy surprisingly. We were seated at a table with benches that we shared with the other table next to us. The bench itself was wobbly and there was a plank was broken so it wasnt that comfortable. It was fine since we werent staying that long. We ordered the mochi waffle which came with strawberries, bananas, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream. The strawberries seemed a bit old since they were mushy. The service was a bit slow until they wanted us to leave. It took a while to get our water glasses to be filled but the check came quite fast. I probably would not come back since the dessert didnt taste that great and the service was slow.

All though this place is full of miso couples dating, you cant take this away from this place: it offers the best shaved ice (papbingsu) in Manhattan. Most places require you to get sweet red beans as part of the dish. Here you can customize your shaved ice. My favorite: milk shaved ice with misugaru powder, strawberry slices and lychee jelly. It is also affordable (around $9) and the portion is just right. They also offer a selection of unusual drinks and desserts: Vietnamese French toast & Thai iced coffee with Anise. Its a highly recommended place and I would give it 5 stars but for the fact that half of their tables are long communal tables that require you to share your table with miso couples.

Go for the snow fluff aka shaved ice milk! Its very light and not too sweet. We had the OD sundae with black Sesame ice milk, red beans , condensed milk and mochi. We also had a custom sundae of green tea ice milk with mochi, bananas, condensed milk, and what were written on the menu as mango chunks. They were $2.00 extra and not fresh, but cooked or possibly canned. Not good. There are lots of other choices in terms of desserts and a large selection of hot and cold beverages. They are a little pricey, but not outrageous considering the location and high rent. The place is big and buzzing, but we were not rushed at all.

5 stars for atmosphere. Lots of tables and seating. I can see myself studying here with headphones on if I was still in school. 5 stars for their shaved ice. Shared the Elixir which was green tea shaved ice with red beans and honey boba, and taro chunks. Ive had plenty of shaved ice growing up as a Filipino, but this was definitely the best because of its unique flavor. While it was $9, it was enough between the three of us. We also got 4 mochi ice cream for $7: black sesame, mango, coffee, and green tea. They were all so so good. Would definitely come back if I lived in NY.
