tl;dr: Do not purchase from this merchant. Thursday: I come in to check out a sofa. The salesman tells me I dont want the $200 couch because its flimsy; he wants to show me other sofas. I see two $300 that he strongly recommends. I decide to come back as im on my lunch break and want to look at more things when I have more time. He confirms that delivery & set up is $40 flat. Friday: I come back. The price quoted to me is different from the prior day. I request that the couch I order not be the floor model that everyone has been sitting on. I am told by the saleswoman in the office that I will receive a new one (not the floor model). I start to fill out the delivery paperwork and the salesman discovers that I live on the 5th floor with no elevator. He then tells me its $50 extra for delivery. I ask him why he told me it was $40 flat the day before. He apologizes for his error but still says itll be $50 more dollars. I agree and decide that I want a Saturday delivery (I was given a Saturday or Monday option). I was told the items would be delivered between 3pm and 8pm and that I would receive a call an hour before the truck was on its way. Saturday: 7:30pm approaches and no call has been received. I call the store several times and only get a busy signal. Eventually I have my parent go to the store at 7:45pm to ask if the items are still coming or to provide an update. They rush her out of the store and say "We cant contact the delivery people right now. You have to come back tomorrow." Sunday: I go into the store and request to speak to the manager. I am told the manager is not present. I ask why my furniture wasnt delivered as promised and am told that "delivery stopped at 5pm. Some customers were notified and others were not. I dont know why some werent." After asking if I could get the delivery fee reduced as I had incurred costs to have people present for the delivery and set up, I am told I need to come back on Monday. I asked the salesman why we cant discuss it today and he says "its Sunday. I cant do anything about it." I ask if my business and money are less valuable on a Sunday and if he can call his manager. He tells me "I know what my manager is going to say already" as a reason for why he wont call his manager. Eventually, I get him to call his manager and he asks which couch I had ordered. As we go back to the office for him to place his call, i see the floor model couch wrapped up (and presumably ready for delivery). I ask him if thats my couch and he gets defensive saying "You dont know if thats the couch you ordered." So I ask him why is it in the same spot it was on Thursday and Friday. He eventually calls his manager who is not willing to make any concessions on the delivery fee or any reduction, and says I need to come in on Monday to discuss. I inform the salesman that I wish to cancel my purchase as I cant arrange for a Monday delivery because of my work schedule. He tells me there are no cancellations or refunds. I had already contacted my credit card company on Saturday after the delivery never arrived and was told I could dispute the charge if I didnt receive my goods as promised. I informed the salesman Id like to cancel and if he didnt oblige I would request a refund through my credit card company. Monday: I receive a call at work from the delivery people asking when they could deliver the furniture. I call the furniture store back and ask them again if I can have an adjustment made for the costs I incurred in having people at my apt on Saturday. The salesman is not willing to make an adjustment and tells me to "stop being so technical" with him as I state why I think I should have some of the delivery fee waived for not receiving services as promised. Further, the saleswoman in the background on the phone tells me that we never promised you it would be on Saturday (they did) so that my claim didnt hold. I told them I would be writing a review and they said "go ahead"

Although the initial trip to El Moda to purchase a new couch went well all that followed has been unprofessional, inconvient and a huge disappointment. The inital issue was the delivery of my couch. I took off from work and stayed home awaiting the delivery and received a call very late in the afternoon telling me that the delivery truck had broken down and there was no one else to deliver my couch. The driver reassured me that he would work around my schedule since the problem occured on his end and that my couch would be delivered to me in two days in the evening when I am home. Three days past and I did not receive my couch or even a phone call. I called the numer that the driver game me and left several messages, no reply. I then reached out to the store and my original sales associate, Alex and he set up another delivery date with another delivery truck. A few days later I received a call from the new delivery guy who told me that he had a lot of deliveries that day and my location, which is in New Jersey, was out of the way but if I could leave my job early and get home early he would still deliver it. Under direst and much aggivation, I did just that and called the furniture store while I was in transit to my home to complain about the service I recieved. Needless to say I still did not receive my couch that night. I had to take another day off from work to wait for the couch the next day. When the delivery guys set my couch up after all of the drama of delivery, it was DAMAGED!! I called the furniture store and was told to accept the couch and a brand new couch would be delivered to me under the warranty. It is now an entire month later and I still do not have my new undamaged couch and I have called and emailed several times. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! They get all of their furniture from Ashley Furniture anyway!! Youre better off going and buying it directly from the source. The customer service is much better and you get way better quality!

I bought a complete bed set here in 2015, I paid the 1 year warranty along with it. I order a certain mattress and the lady wrote something else down on the recipet because she said in the warehouse its known by a different name but I will be getting the mattress I want. Welllllllllllll, they sent me a completely different mattress. After so many calls and emails, they blocked my email and number! They said that the mattress I got is the one I "wanted" because its clearly written out. I mean if the mattress wasnt bad I wouldnt complain but I cant sit on it without the other side bouncing up. It feels like its a blown up air mattress inside. Horrible HORRRRIBLEEE STOREE!!!! Do NOT waist your money and time here!!!

The one star goes to the sales staff I feel sorry for them working for a company that conducts such horrible service. Every thing you read on the reviews are true down to the lies they tell you the truck broke the shipment is coming from queens or bad weather then oh no its a new delivery company its in New Jersey.if the item is not in the store and you can take it at that moment dont waste your time they wont deliver the day the promise they will try and make it for another day just to scam you for another delivery charge as stated on the receipt hopefully you will even get the item you asked for if not you have to send it back then do the process over again and guess what another delivery charge !
