this place is local for me and I used to really love going here. now it is full of tourists and gets much more crowded. some of the original places have left. Lucys whey a cheese place was great for a good grilled cheese sandwich but they just closed this location this week. You can get a good vietnamese sandwich here at nam pung, the thai place is good, Amys bread has good breads, scones, sandwiches, can not go wrong with SaraBeths, I shop in the lobster place for fresh fish, sushi, and the most delish salmon burgers I cook up at home. so many places to eat in here I can not name all. the german brat place is interesting and good for a quick bite. the australian pie place is worth going to for lunch. There are 2 italian places in there. one full service and the other casual where you can find many items from Italy= they sell sandwiches and other foods right outside their store

Chelsea Market is literally the best place in the entire universe. The first time I came here, it was like a religious experience. If there is an afterlife, I hope it is just a larger version of Chelsea Market. The shear concentration of superb food here is hard comprehend, and even harder to describe, but Ill try: Picture the best restaurant you know. Now picture two even better restaurants on either side of it. Next to those are amazing bakeries, the worlds best fish market, and shops where you can find the finest imported cheeses, and a grocery store where you can get rare, exotic produce. This describes just a few of the incredible attractions at Chelsea Market. This is the best place Ive ever been. I could eat there every day of my life and never get bored. While writing this review, I gained four pounds just remembering all the amazing things Ive eaten there.

Chelsea Market is celebrating its 20th year and today its really proved its stepped up its game this year. We ordered the dry cumin lamb and the soup vegan noodles at Very Fresh Noodles and it was hands down better than XiAn Famous Sichuan and weve eaten at XiAn since it opened in the L.E.S.. The noodles at VFN is springy/chewy. The soup in the vegan soup noodles was very well balanced and the quality of the meats and vegetables are spot on. Its similar to how XiAn used to be before it changed its focus on expansion and becoming a dominant chain in NYC. Overall, VFN deserves a 5-star, but today was my first time eating their food, so lets see if they get a 5-star (not that a 5-star from me says much).

This is basically a giant foodie/tourist trap with Office Space and high-end bakeries butchers and restaurants. If you want good food, nice meat selection and dont mind paying tourist attraction prices in New York City this is the place you want to go. Its usually very crowded but if you go in there in the morning on the weekdays when they first open youll be able to have some room to breathe. If you come to this place looking for the bathroom theres always a line this dream ends rooms and one giant womens restroom. If youre a native New Yorker this is just something you do once to get it off your bucket list unless you live in or work in the area

Chelsea Market is a mall for food lovers. Youll see locals as well as tourists flocking to the market creating a Sardin can like atmosphere. The down fall of Chelsea Market is the crowd. BTW, Chelsea Market isnt a tourist trap. Like the one in Baltimore or Philadelphia. Tip: Their busiest time is between 11:45am to 5pm. So, get to the market just after market opens to avoid the lunch crowd. My favorite food stalls are Los Tacos No1, Chelsea Thai, Filaga Pizzeria, and Dizengoff which only sells Hummus. If you are going to visit Philadelphia, Dizengoffs original location is on Sansom street. Buon Italia is my favorite Italian market.

Whats not to like about this place? A must if visiting NYC or already live here. If the weather is nice then walk the Highline Park over here. This place is a cool indoor mainly food market with many different shops and food options. I also noticed some clothing shops. I always recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC. Check out Los Tacos #1 while inside and you wont be dissapointed. Delicious tacos and Mexican food at this restaurant. The Chelsea Market can get very crowded on weekends. Come check it out even if you dont buy anything a good way to kill time and window shop while in the area.

Stroll through the market which houses many unique shops for cookware, clothes, and gadgets for the house, adults and children. As you walk you can pass by many choices of delicious fresh made food. Stop in for a Lobster roll and continue on the path to get some cakes. All kinds of coffee places to sit and chat when enjoying the food. They do need more tables, I didnt like coming out and carrying my food till there was an empty spot. The ice cream line is always long and at $5 a pop it should be good-but I have yet to attempt this. A great winter spot since its all indoors.

Would not have visited the Chelsea Market if it hadnt been for the tour guides. Ending the 6-hour marathon walking your at the Markets was the best thing that happened. Inside is a plethora of food shops, market stalls, trinkets and everything far and few between. During our 8 day stay in New York, we visit Chelsea Markets 3 times for the quality food and browsing of interesting stalls that littered the market. Food, food and more food! If youre in search for variety and quality, you may find yourself noting neighbouring restaurants on the way out. Highly recommended.

This place is pretty exclusive for several reasons. The doors arent open first of all and it was hard to find the entrance. The prices are insane overall but thats to be expected. Most of the food is great but the price will leave you feeling empty. 5 dollars for a single taco, 5 for an underwhelming Sicilian "margarita" slice (they just threw in basil to a simple cheese slice) and dont get me started on the pricing for the markets. For an average New Yorker or tourist, Id say you should visit for the experience and be prepared to empty your wallet.

Chelsea Market is a neighborhood staple as it offers a multitude of food and shopping options. If you are not in the mood to shop or hungry enough to eat, just walk around. A good amount of people in the market are just walking around taking pictures with friends. If you are a big foodie, I would suggest trying out a couple restaurants, starting with Los Tacos. You may find a new personal favorite since there are all types of selections to satisfy your hunger. If you can, try to go during the week because the weekends tend to be overly crowded.

I loved my visit to Chelsea Market. Im a sucker for markets anyway, so this wasnt a hard sell, but even so this was great fun. A wide variety of stores, all types of items on sale, from what youd expect to what you really wouldnt, and just stellar quality. I just wish Id had more time, and had infinite stomach capacity (and wallet). My personal highlights: Sarabeths Bakery (I have her cookbook), Artists & Fleas, and Bowery Kitchen Supply. Bonus: Before or after your visit, you can visit the High Line, with entrances just a stones throw away.
