I love this place. The layout is unique and helpful (they have displays based on occassion and need). They have a good selection, but their best attribute would have to be the staff. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and eager to help. One of the first time I visited, I wanted to learn about which whiskies were approachable. The guy helping me out took the time to speak with me and discuss all the different types of whiskies, how theyre made, and their flavor profiles. The next time I went to Bottlerocket, I needed a small amount of white wine to use for cooking and a staff member knew exactly what would be right for the job. The receipt even detailed the wines flavor profile and potential food pairings. Bottlerocket also hosts lots of great tasting events in their store which you can find out about from their mailing list. Wow, that last part sounded like an ad, but I really do love this place!

Clever store organization and good wine in all price ranges. They group wines by region, but also by what theyre best paired with. The whole meat/fish pairing isnt new, but they also had a genius "takeout" pairing set. I got a dessert wine, champagne, and red wine there, and was happy with all of them. The staff is chatty but not pushy, and when you pay they give you a sheet with info on the wines you bought - their rating/review, other ratings/reviews and some general background. They know their stuff, but they arent stuffy.

Used to go here occasionally, ok selection, different way of breaking down the products. Dont accept their invites to the tasting events unless you are white - they are SUPER awkward about people outside their average (mid 20s white) customer demographic showing up, and will patronizingly explain to you that its not free and you have to pay for it (guess they think we cant read).

Never bought from them, but visited the store multiple times due to the various events going on, specifically wine tastings. I really like how the place looks. Well-organized with many helpful staff. Wines are arranged according to theme (ie this section for red meats, that section for wines to pair with fish) and they feature many local spirits as well.

This store is cool - a different concept from your standard wine store. I really like how its laid out around themes - the way you really might buy a wine if youre not an uber expert. i.e. For a barbecue or for takeout. They have an active mailing list, an interesting wine club, and theyre always very engaged and friendly at the checkout.

In my opinion, the very best wine and liquor store in Manhattan. Amazing range of artisan spirits, with knowledgable staff who can talk you through the 20 types of gin, for example, with many made by NY microdistilleries and breweries. Excellent range of wine, too.

Super nice store! Good wine selection, very good and well organised information about each wine and consumer friendly organisation of the wines, helping and reducing the burden of the wine choosing for a specific moment.

The store clerks are really great people who know a lot about wine. I really enjoy all the information cards that the store displays along with the products. Their events are also a lot of fun.

Awesome wine store. Besides the friendly staff they offer many events and wine classes in the store. Prices are average and they will order something for you that is not on the shelf.

Good store for begginers with a decent selection. Pairings and ideas are fun for people who know nothing about wine.
