This is going to be long, but I want it to be useful to others. We have been loyal customers since the first day Royal Pets opened. We have boarded, use the vet center, doggy daycare, grooming and do all the shopping for the dogs here. They really are a one stop shop for all your pets needs. We always been told, you arent just a customer you are family and we did feel that way. We had no concerns at all about leaving the dogs with them. In addition, they had and still have some really wonderful staff here. Over time, especially this last year, we noticed things are the Northdale store changing. We would go in on Saturday, ( we have gone in almost every Saturday since they opened to get food etc) and would see at times the people working doggy day care did not seem to be interacting with the dogs and looked bored and uninterested. A few times it seemed they would rather be anyplace else other than out with the pets. One of the first issues we had was after boarding for a few nights, we picked the dogs up and when our female was getting into the car, we noticed she had a hole on her backside. As it was the 4th of July, the vet center had already closed so we brought her home and treated it. We took her in the next day to the vet only to find out, one of the workers had noticed that something was going on back there, but no one bothered to check or have her checked by the vet. Her anal gland had exploded. This was dealt with and we were told changes were taking place that would help to make sure things like this didnt go un-noticed in the future. The last two stays the dogs were either not fed at all for two meals, and then not fed according to the instructions that were left. At this point its hard to trust the care of the dogs to them. They dont seem to mind losing a loyal customer over this since no attempt has been made to refund or offer another stay at no cost to prove to us they can really care for our pets.

This place is amazing!! Okay so I bought my puppy 5 months ago and he is the light of my life. We had never been apart for a full day before I had to go out of town on Friday. My flight was at six am so I had to find someone to take care of my loving pup as o do. I live in Carrollwood and had gone into Royal pets market and resort many times. Each time I had gone in there I had gotten amazing service and it was always very clean. I took my puppy in there on Tuesday and had him do the all day daycare just to see how he would like it. I drove by a couple times to check on him and he was loving it . So I made the decision to board him there for Thursday Friday and Saturday while I would be out of town. I chose the deluxe suite where I could see my puppy on WebCam and where he could go outside and play during the day. The first night my puppy was having some anxiety as this was his first time being away from home. I couldnt sleep and neither can he. I could see you on the WebCam that he was very uneasy. However my fears of him being alone or put aside when I noticed an employee hand feeding my puppy because he wouldnt eat. I then noticed a few hours later that another employee was comforting my puppy because he couldnt sleep. I never expected such good service after reading all the reviews. This place is nothing short of amazing! I also had my puppy groomed and he looks the best that he is never locked . When I brought him home on Saturday evening yes he was very tired because you have been playing a lot however he is in great health. If you love your dog and you want your dog to be taking half as good as you would then this is the place that you need to go! -Iris

A friend of mine recommended this place to me. Ive heard some bad things so I wanted to check it out first. Where do I start? For one, they have 1 person watching what looks like at least 40 dogs by themself. So, while the girl was outside breaking up a fight between 2 dogs, another one was eating poop while 3 more were humping each other. Not to mention that the yard is way too small for the amount of dogs that they allow. Plus, the dogs are outside for 8 hours a day. Unless it rains, then they bring the big dogs into the indoor park while the little dogs have to spend that time in their kennels. For a place that says they treat your pets like royalty, it seems like the pets are treated like a burden. Inside isnt much better. The staff seems more interested in gossiping, flirting, and throwing each other under the bus, rather than running a business. Without going into detail, there were 2 girls talking about another customer. It looked like one guy was trying to get with one of the girls at the desk. Another girl (who mightve been a manager or at least someone in charge) just blaming someone else for something not getting done. And while all this is going on, the man who seemed to be the manager just stood around and did nothing except bark orders at everyone. Im so glad I checked this place out before I brought my dogs there. I mentioned this to me friend and she said she will no longer bring her dog there as well. I guess the place used to be much better but I guess a lot of people have left over the last few months.

This place used to be great. But, earlier this year, they replaced the manager with a gentleman named Cristian, who is a friend of someone in corporate. Because of his connections, he rose up the ladder to obtain the position of store manager without having actually earned the position. The entire staff knows this. Also, this man is more like a spoiled child and treats the employees like his own personal servants. I can say that the staff does care about the dogs. The problem is that theyre not given the time, the tools or the man power to do a good job in taking care of them. There are so many things that are broken or misplaced that the staff has to figure out others ways to make things work. Also, on extremely busy days, they will not bring in extra employees to help, but, will also not turn away customers. Always putting money over safety. So, you end up having 1 person watching over 50+ dogs for hours. Finally, if anyone has gone there for the last year or so, you will notice a dramatic change in personnel. The manager, Cristian, doesnt like it if you call him out and will never admit to making a mistake. Since hes taken over, several employees have gotten fired over things that werent entirely theyre fault. And they were fired without any warning. Things like being short staffed but still required to get everything done in the same amount of time. Because of this hostile work environment, a lot of employees have decided to quit. And the ones that are still there, feel like they could be fired at anytime.
