Hertz car sales was an easy way to buy a used vehicle. I would rather have a root canal than buy a vehicle at a dealership; our salesperson, Thaddeus Bland, Jr., changed my perceptions of car buying with his easy-going manner. I had researched lots of cars, and decided I wanted a Hyundai Elantra. My husband and I wanted to buy a vehicle on 2/23/17. My mistake was in not asking Thaddeus what payment options they could take for the downpayment. We planned to use a debit card: Hertz is not equipped to process cards on their sales side. I test drove two cars, had Thaddeus rearrange cars on the lot so we could test drive another- at no point did he ever seem put out or upset by my requests. When we declined to make a deal that night, Thaddeus thanked us for our time and gave us his card. Unlike other dealerships, Thaddeus was respectful of our time, and he did not barrage us with a bunch of phone calls to push us into a purchase. On the morning of 3/1/17, I texted Thaddeus to make sure he would be at the dealership that evening, as well as what payment methods Hertz required. He quickly remembered the vehicle I was most interested in, letting me know the car had sold. This confirmed for me that Thaddeus wanted to help me make the right decision for me; giving me that information could have risked him losing a sale! I appreciated his honesty, as well as his staying at the delearship late to accommodate us finding another car. We bought an awesome 2016 Elantra. Again, Thaddeus made the process simple for us...we picked out a car we researched, test drove it, used our pre-qualification letter for our financing, and prepared the car for us to take it home. All of this took place in less than 2.5 hours. I can appreciate Hertzs no-haggle pricing model. We paid a fair price for our new car, a price much lower than any other dealerships were offering in town. If you want a great car buying experience, go see Thaddeus Bland at Hertz. Youll get great service in a low-pressure atmosphere!

While the sales staff is courteous and professional, the management can only be described as incompetent. I had been pursuing a deal for several weeks, explaining from the outset that I wanted to trade 2 vehicles (a car and a motorcycle) for 1 vehicle. I had finally settled on a vehicle, when I noticed that the figures on the paperwork were wrong and did not reflect the payoff on the bike. I pointed this out to the salesman, and I asked him if the figures were correct. He reassured me that everything was fine, but I still hesitated. It looked to me that I would be walking out the door with a sweet deal, but the dealership would be out almost $3000. The salesman then revisited the deal, and thats when everything fell apart. Instead of re-working the deal to account for the missing $3000, the manager decided that he needed to seek approval from his supervisor. Suddenly the Hertz Car Sales dealership couldnt take motorbikes on trade. Furthermore, it took the manager 2 1/2 days to get back to me to tell me that the deal was a no-go. If I hadnt pointed out the discrepancy to the sales staff, the deal would have gone through, but as it is, Im now left with no deal. I recommend that future customers refrain from making a purchase at this particular dealership until there is a change of management. Furthermore, I recommend that Hertz revisits its training program for their retail store managers.

I purchased a 2015 Ford Focus from Hertz in great condition with 30k miles. It was actually cheaper than a 2013 Ford Focus with 30k miles at Phil Long, albeit only by a few hundred dollars, but Im impressed with the price. Everyone at Hertz was very kind, however several employees had issues with communication. There were a couple times where an employee said they would call back with relatively basic information, and they never called me. Also, I made plans with an employee to have an small issue with my newly purchased car looked at. We agreed on meeting at between noon and 1 to get it looked at, so I drive 30 minutes to be there at noon, only for them to tell me that the tech guy wouldnt be ready for another hour. A phone call would have been nice. Thats all.

The finance manager for this Hertz Car sales branch, is very unprofessional and ignorant. He would not take the check sent to me by my bank for the car payment, because it had both his dealerships name and my name on it, even when I explained it to him that was a normal way for purchasing a car thru the buyers bank. Even the Hertz Denver branch confirmed to me that it was ok to pay with a check in that manner. That explains his ignorance. Regarding his unprofessionalism, he would not nor could not give me a reason why he would not take the check, and just said thats just the way they do things and they dont want the bank dictating how they do their business.

I had been to a couple of dealers before going to Hertz in Motor City. By the time I got there I had it with the hard sell. Brian Brunner was laid back, no pressure salesman that I really appreciated at that moment. We went on a test drive, no pressure to "get the paperwork started" or "you really need to put a deposit down on that today!" He got our business because hes down to earth, easy going and honest. He even followed up on getting another remote for us the next day. Brian and Idris were awesome to deal with. (He probably gave my kids too much chocolate though)

I drove all the way from Bennett to look at a car. As soon as I arrived on the lot to check out a car I had been emailing them about I was told that I had to hurry because somebody else was calling about it... Well the car was a piece, so whoever else called can have it. I looked at two others and they all seemed a little shady. We left and went right across the street to OneSource auto.. I ended up buying the second car I tested there. No haggling, no hassling and no shady sales tactics.

These people ran my credit ELEVEN TIMES!!!! I get they want to sell cars - but no one I know would be ok with this. And my credit wasnt even bad - but now it is!!!!! Sure they have cheap cars..... but that is beyond unprofessional. AVOID if you ever want to use credit for anything every again!!!!

This is the ONLY way to buy a car. After looking for a car and dealing with "car salesmen and lemon lots" for months, Hertz was so refreshing. It feels like I stumbled on a secret I dont want share. Brian is the man to see for awesome customer service!

I went car shopping with my mom and was assisted by Brian Brunner. He was very kind and patient. He was not pushy and listened to any concerns we had. It was very good customer service and I would recommend him if asked.
