I ordered a shower installation on Nov. 16th. The sales person that came to my house was excellent (obviously because by the time he left I had ordered a $7500 shower installation). I was told to expect my new shower by mid January. January came and went...no email....no phone call....no updates and no shower. I called for an update and was told my install was actually going to be mid February. Mid February came and went....no email...no phone call.....no shower. I called home depot and got no answers. I went to the store to inquire and was told they would have to look into it and call me later. When I finally received a phone call I told them that I would like to cancel my installation because it has been months and I was tired of waiting. I had opened a home depot credit account for this install and had already paid over a thousand dollars for the shower that never came. It is now March.....no cancellation has processed and no money refunded. I still have an open install order on my home depot account and a balance showing on the credit card. You would think that there would be at least a little attempt at some customer service but there has been zero effort. It is nearing four months since I ordered my shower and I have nothing to show for it except a new credit card and $1000 dollars missing from my checking account.

We bought a washer and dryer with pedestals from Home Depot. It took 5 separate appointments before every piece was delivered and put properly into its place. The employees at the store had no idea what was going on and I was passed from rep to rep trying to figure out why my pedestals werent arriving and where they were. Pam was especially useless, as she promised me that my pedestal would arrive with dryer on the second attempt. She guaranteed it and promised shed hang up with me and call the delivery company right away to be sure of it. Well, guess what? It didnt come. Our experience was a nightmare. Seriously, 5 separate appointments to get two machines and pedestals installed. And my washer was installed by two random Home Depot employees who showed up in their personal vehicle to install it after HD failed to deliver my pedestal with the washer. What an unholy nightmare it was. And when Ive tried to complain to the company, Ive been passed around and around and nobody seems to be responsible for admitting fault and making amends. I will never buy another thing from Home Depot. Costco all the way.

Two terrible experiences within one month with a water heater and a dishwasher for home delivery and installation. They did not follow through with either order, completely messed up the delivery and installation times, and, in the case of the dishwasher, botched it so badly that I finally cancelled the order. This was after I took a day off work for an 11:00 -- 1:00 delivery that never happened. At 2:30 pm they told me that they would get it to me sometime that evening (couldnt say when) and the installers would get there sometime but "not tomorrow." One bad experience can be written off to unfortunate circumstances. Two in 30 days with remarkably similar problems reflects a serious problem with management and training. I cant comment on other Home Depot stores as this is the only one where I have purchased appliances for home installation. The floor employees are great. If you need a tape measure youll do fine shopping there. If you need an appliance delivered and installed, I would avoid this store completely.

Shocking service #HomeDepot in Vancouver WA at the Walmart Superceter. Its NOT a problem when something goes awry and you get delivered less than you ordered. But it becomes a problem when you have to spend hours and hours on the phone because everyone who is "checking into it and going to get back to you" never actually does so. And it becomes a REAL problem when someone starts says YOURE the difficult customer when on your 5th phonecall you ask (admittedly rather annoyed by now) whats been done to solve the problem. No Home Depot - we are not difficult customers....we are customers who happen to spend an enormous amount of money at your store. So weve now sent away the team wed arranged to lay the pavers, wasted an entire afternoon simply trying to get someone to actually tell us when the rest of our pavers will actually be delivered so that we can arrange to get the job done...and despite that we still have NO answer. You would get ZERO stars if I could figure out how to do that.

I came to Home Depot on 192nd in Vancouver to purchase doors and found that the only person in the door department was at lunch and I would have to wait for them to come back to get assistance. Really? One door person in the entire store on a Saturday in July? With that I went straight to Lowes and they sent the manager of the department to meet me exactly where I needed them within less that 2-minutes. I found exactly what I was looking for and spent $400 that day wand was EXTREMELY satisfied with my experience. I will now always go to Lowes first and will only go to Home Depot when there is not other option. If you would simply spend more time taking care of your customer and less time thinking about how to make more money you would actually make more money. Ever think about that? Signed, One Satisfied Lowes Customer.

We will never do business with Home depot again. Our "72 hour" carpet installation was 3-4 weeks out for installation and we were not told that at the time of purchase. I ended up changing the type of carpet so we could have it installed within a week and the sales associate JANICE knew what our situation was and that we needed it right away and still did not tell me. We ended up going to a competitor for a higher grade carpet with a week installation and cheaper price. The awesome customer service compared to the Home Depot was a bonus!! JANICE in carpet also made a remark about my twin girls and how if I wanted a boy I could just raise one of the girls as a boy instead of a girl. Unbelievable and not appropriate at all!! Again... I will never do any business with the Home depot. I am going local from now on!

I had purchased several fruit trees earlier in the year (2007) and was advised that they came with a 1 year warranty which included a full refund as long as I kept my receipt. About 6 months later 2 of the trees never blossomed and died. I returned the dead trees with the receipt and was advised they would issue a store credit, not a refund. I spoke with the Asst Manager and he advised that a store credit was the same thing as a refund. When a store breaks their word, they lose me as a customer. I also end up sharing my experience with others which results in additional customers being lost. Lowes is in the process of moving in across the street. I, and the people I share my story with will begin shopping at Lowes once it opens. HD needs to stand by their word and more importantly their customers.

Great store, great service. Once in a while i get an employee who doesnt know what theyre talking about or just plain doesnt have an answer. Otherwise, Im happy. I purchased a refrigerator and had it delivered, purchased several garden plants and items, lots of lumber, random hardware pieces. No problems with quality or returns. Its not a big store so it doesnt have great selection, but it rarely doesnt have what I need. We moved further away and I still use this store. Odd that there are so many one star reviews...
