Such a beautiful grocery store! Flowers are kept near the entrance making it look really pretty. A florist is located in a separate room to the right of the main door pick flowers and the florist will wrap them for you, or buy a bouquet that has already been made. As soon as you enter the main store you will be hit by the smell of fresh cookies. These chocolate chip cookies are constantly being made so you can always get one fresh out of the oven.....be warned! The deli has great food to take home either in their case to heat up for you or in their refrigerator. Need cheese? This is the place to find it. Produce is always great and they have an amazing wine selection. Need a gift or a kitchen item? You can find them on shelves located near the wine. If you cant wait to eat all the food you just bought, there is heated and covered seating right outside. High chairs and microwave are available to use.

I live very close by the Tacoma Proctor store so I go here about 3 times a week. Definitely overpriced on almost everything. Very disappointed on a recent purchase of their own labeled brand of "Posh party Mix" , the label is misleading in my opinion, inside is mostly peanuts. The hot food selection for a quick got meal is very good. They have unique but again, overpriced, fresh seasonal fruits and veggies. "THE COOKIE" has to be their top seller, if you go make sure to get one. They carry a decent selection of products but several times I found they didnt have what I needed. One item I couldnt get was available at Fred Meyers. Went to whole foods to get the other. Bottom line. You will like the store for the outdoor seating, the specialty items and the employees are great (love them all).

A+ for the staff, C for the clientele - provincial and rude to other customers and staff alike. Excellent quality in all departments with a bit of an exception in the bakery; pretty good on desserts, weak in breads. Dont try to get a great bagel here. The deli is very good - we spend as much as we would eating out at a restaurant when picking up food. Poke station, carved meats, charcuterie, pressed sandwiches, soups etc... everyone will find something. Most gourmet, pop ethnic and trendy items are available. Youll find things like sumac, preserved lemons or duck mousse paté. Prepare for a nutty parking lot...

The market is clean and nice. Extremely overpriced. Its even more expensive than whole foods. I understand local is more expensive but this is an obviously huge mark up. Their selection is moderate. I found so many items I can get at a regular market but doubled in price. The only non dairy yogurts I could find were the mainstream same stuff youd find at a regular grocer but also twice the price. Nice concept but obviously money and their "proctor street" status is more important to them than the average person being able to afford quality, local grown, healthy food groceries. Truly disappointing.

Mediocre selection and high prices but the monthly coupon mailers and selection of non traditional products and high end foods makes this a good place to find a few certain items that you just cant at other grocery stores. Recommended if you have high end tastes and lots of money, or an eye for deals and a few specific things you want that you just cant find elsewhere. Definitely a niche shopping experience for me but an excellent market and somewhere I definitely enjoy shopping more than more "downscale" supermarkets even if I cant afford to pay the markup on all of Metro Markets products.

I just needed a greeting card. I went to the SW across the street and at the West entrance greeted by the evening locked doors notice. Went in. An associate walked past me. Seconds later I mumbled to myself.....I so dislike this store. I went to my car and to your store. The cart person let me walk in first. I was greeted....yes theyre down here. At checkout there was sincere conversation vs the deadly Hi how are you? The store has a personality vs the disconnect at SW. Its worth paying a little more to be treated with value. I left having spent $18......thanks!

Been shopping here for years and Ive made many friends who are employees here. I appreciate how conscious they are, not only of where they source their perishable products from, but also their customer service. They do not hesitate to go the extra mile in customer service. This market s vibe reminds me of many public areas and markets I visit in Tuscany. Its sort of the living room of Italians where they visit and catch up with good friends. Yes, some things are expensive, but smart shoppers can leave happy with no reservations about returning.

Excellent for produce and meats but I agree with other reviewers that the mainstream items are overpriced. Most staff are extremely friendly except for this nasty lady Ive encountered a few times in checkout. Shes very impatient and does not try to hide it (sighing, rolling her eyes at you). Perhaps general retraining of checkout staff would resolve this; however, like I said everyone else is excellent. Recommend eating the crazy amazing cookie freshly baking when you walk in at least once in your life.

Pricey Deliciousness. If you can afford this market, it is mega tasty stuff. The prepared foods are amazing and they have a huge selection of stuff- even a make-your-own poke bowl bar. The cafe is fantastic, the produce is crisp and flavorful- everything is so so good and its a nice once-in-a-while treat for my husband and I to get sandwiches and coffee here. They have enclosed outdoor seating with heat lamps in the cold months, and more outside tables in the warm months. Beautiful flowers too.

One AWESOME store! I have special diet needs...Met Market is definitely the place. Yes, a little on the spendy side. However, you get fresh, locally grown produce and fresh...I mean fresh meat, eggs and wonderful organic produce. They have a great selection of specialty foods, great kitchen gadgets and home decor ideas. Its the local county store...great products and great staff. Its always a pleasure to come shop. Thanks Met Market! You always add that special touch! ALWAYS warm and inviting.

I have been a loyal Metro Market customer for many years. Come visit the newly remodeled store on Proctor Street in Tacoma. It is a must stop for your special meals or entertaining. New features include fresh baked warm cookies, hot pizza oven, made to order pasta, and a gelato espresso bar with 18 choices of the best gelato I have ever eaten. Only wish they still offered the grilled salmon sliders they used to offer here - I would eat them every week!

Wow!! Let me just start by saying this. From the moment I walked in the staff at the metropolitan market couldnt be more helpful and courteous. I was looking for the "right bread" which I couldnt find. So they hooked me up with a few loafs they do not carry in the store. But they do use to make their sandwichs in their deli. Who does that anymore?! They do!! Also this store carries so many great things throughout. I will return again and again.

I always enjoy going here but yesterday i was completely blown away. Shout-out to Danny in the mat department! We purchased an entire salmon and informed Danny that we were driving all the way to Spokane so he packed the fish for our journey. When we opened the box 7 hours later, the ice and fish were still in perfect condition despite the heat outside. Thank you!
