A generally negative experience with Albert Lee. I was assuming since they are family owned and have been in business since 1939 that the service would be good. Purchased a package of appliances from them...refigerator, range, dish washer, washer and dryer for our small kitchen re-model. One of the delivery guys was awful...he should have just not come into work that day.I purchased a refrigerator that was supposed to have a reversible door swing. They salesman made a "mistake" and thought it was reversible but it was not. When the refrigerator was delivered with the wrong door swing, I called him. He said, "sorry" but would take it back and we would have to purchase a different one at a higher price. I couldnt afford the price difference so had to accept the wrong item. Instead of saying, "Gosh, my mistake. We will take it back and match the price on a different model." His reply was that he only found out that morning and did not have enough time to get it off the delivery truck. We also purchased a small front loading energy star washer and dryer. At the time of purchase, he did not inquire as to the type of flooring we had. We received the washer and the spin speed was so high that it rattled things in an adjacent room. We called the next day immediately after installation after trying all of the different cycle options. We had a service technician come out and said that those types of machines could only operate effectively on a poured concrete floor. Our Albert Lee salesman only offered a quick fix solution of bolting down plywood on top of our existing floor or hiring a contractor to build supports in the crawlspace. After insisting that those solutions were not going to work for me, they only accepted to give me a refund with a 20% restocking fee...with turns out to be $240....so basically, it turns out that I am paying Albert Lee for their lack of service....in not making a basic inquiry when advising us on our appliance purchases. There was no mention or question asked as to type of flooring when we were trying to decide on purchasing the above appliances. I wish I did not purchase from Albert Lee but I cant go back now.

I purchased a high-end refrigerator, gas stove, and microwave from a competent salesperson. However, that is where the customer service ended. Though Albert Lee is a vendor of GE appliances, they do not competently coordinate with GE if there are difficulties. The customer service representative does not take full responsibility to assure detailed problem solving which results in a satisfactory resolution. The refrigerator door was damaged when it in arrived. After waiting approximately one month for part to be ordered and shipped, I was notified by GE that the door would be separately delivered to my home (home from work to receive shipment) and then technician from GE would install (home from work). The wrong door was shipped. I then needed to arrange for door to be picked up by subcontractor to dispose of it. After waiting another month with no contact, I called Seattle- Albert Lee customer service again. I was informed by the customer service rep that the part was in and she scheduled an installation appointment. I mentioned to her that in my limited experience, the door needed to be here for the technician. The rep reassured me that the technician would bring the door. Well, technician arrived without door and could not complete the "call". (Another day home from work). Two months out and due for third service call and another morning home from work. In calling Albert Lee customer service rep to report the debacle, she replied that it was not their responsibility that the door was not ordered. True perhaps given the GE interface, but I will not buy from Albert Lee again if they can not guarantee a seamless experience.

Ya ever buy a crappy car from a used car salesman-- like one with a bad toupe, a beer gut, and a wrinkled white dress shirt that was stained at the armpits? Imagine that experience, and thats the vibe that I get when I walk into Albert Lee. I shopped for a range, mid-priced. Nothing fancy. Burner-style. The salesman was fine, it was just the haggling part that felt very used-car-salesy. They pulled some of the same tricks-- whining about how theyre "not making any money on this deal" by showing you their "cost" on the screen. Puleeeze. Oldest trick in the book. I can make a database in 10 minutes that would show you any price I wanted. Back and forth, back and forth. I was going to buy a clearance "floor model" range. It was four-years-old and had a dent in the side-- no big deal because the dent wasnt going to be seen. Im himming-and-hawing and ready to walk out-- and suddenly-- oh wait, suddenly and magically, he clickty-clicks and sees they have a new one in the warehouse I can have-- for the same price-- without a dent. Sounds great. So I buy it. Then, just out of curiosity, I stop by Home Depot on the way to pick-up the range. Sure enough, Home Depot had the SAME unit, brand new, made in 2010, for $75 LESS and they would deliver it for free (Albert Lee wanted $50 or $75). I immediately went back to AL and asked for a refund (this is 30 minutes later). The guy grumbles, grumbles-- takes my paperwork, doesnt even look at me, just goes about his biz and hands me the receipt to sign. Nothing else. I assume they work on commission? Anyway. Not. Going. Back. Ever.

** UPDATE ** We finally got them out here to finish the work they promised after much calling and arguing. THE FIRST TIME WE TURNED ON THE OVEN IT WAS BROKEN -- sparks flying out from the back (not the element itself, but the control panel in the back of the stove) -- we had to turn it off at the circuit breaker. They are now saying its "install related" (even though they wouldnt install it properly) and say that they cant anyone to look at it for over a week. DO NOT BUY FROM ALBERT LEE Bought a washer, dryer and range. Paid for installation and haul away. Delivery team forgot the steam kit for the dryer. Was told "dispatch" would send another one out. Took 3 weeks and multiple phone calls (all initiated by me) to get the steam kit installed. Was told multiple times that I would get a call back, no one ever called me back. Additionally the stove was delivered earlier than expected. When I asked sales about it they said they would happily move it upstairs and haul away the old one when the kitchen was ready. They are now telling me there is an additional $100 charge for this (on top of the $100 I already paid) because its a "new delivery". On top of this all, no one ever apologized for the issues with the steam kit being late and people not calling me back until Mark from dispatch came out after he left work to install it himself on his own time. Do not buy from Albert Lee

Bought three complete kitchens when Junior ran the place, NOT recommended anymore, not since Albert III is in command. Wanted to upgrade a fridge, and ordered a new one from ALA. The guys delivered it but it was obviously defective (compressor), installers left saying this is a warrantee issue. Well if you know anything about replacing a compressor, the repair folks dont do it as good as the factory. The factory uses nitrogen in the lines so the brazing does not oxidize the piping, etc. The repair guys didnt even know that. Was referred by ALA to the factory rep (Fisher & Paykel) who actually argued up and down that I was nuts (actually said that!). Anyway when the repair folks have to make a repair of that magnitude, the unit is sold as "reconditioned", and at a discount. I paid for something brand new and should expect same, not reconditioned. What was aggravating is the installers just left (should have taken it back with them), the salesman referred me to the rep. who was an _hole, in other words I wa left to fend for myself. With much arguing and haggling the salesman finally went to bat for me and got F&P to give me a new one. The salesman acted like he was a hero and doing me a favor. Sorry, but should have done that from the get-go. Dont recommend F&P either, but they make some really cool stuff; dont be temped.
