This is easily the best local bike shop in Puget Sound, possibly the state of Washington because: 1. Zero percent snooty! 2. The guys know their equipment! 3. GHY carries Norco, Intense, Transition, Raleigh, Giant, Devinci, GT (BMX) and can order Redline too! 4. Its the perfect blend of BMX/Mountain Bike merchandise; goggles, pads, helmets, shoes for platform and clipless pedals, standard and full face helmets, BMX number plates, etc., etc. 5. Prices are competitive with the online retailers! 6. Every bike I test rode was what you want in a pro shop; asking you your body weight to get your test ride dialed in. 7. The best personable local bike shop that every bike shop around the Sound can learn from. 8. Downtown Renton unlike Downtown Seattle, has retail parking. I have some extra cash to throw around and Im in the hunt for riding a simply fun mountain bike. The guys at GHY let me test ride (requires a credit card and govt ID) a few bikes I was interested in with zero hassle. I test rode everything from a Transition Klunker to an Intense Tracer 275c. Overall, when I decide what bike Im getting, itll be from people who know their merchandise and are totally stoked to get you out and riding. Also, a six month service plan is pretty nice too.

I would recommend Center Cycle instead (3950 Lind Ave SW, Renton, WA 98057). I went to Burien Cycle (same owner as GHY bikes, so I will post a review here as well) to do was to put some standard sized tires on my bike. They didnt have any in stock and had to special order them. I figured since they had to order them anyway, I wanted to get the same tires I had on currently. This was right before STP so I needed this done within two weeks. They said that this would not be a problem, they would have it done in 4 days, well before STP. A week went by, I called, and the tires hadnt even been ordered yet, much less put on my bike. They said that this was because the owner, AJ, has to approve any special tire orders. I said, OK, if you order the tires today, can you guarantee me that they will be on my bike before STP? They said no. At this point, I had to come get my bike and take it elsewhere. Really poor customer service. I took it to Center Cycle, they had tires on the shelf, and installed within 24 hours.

This bike shop is super helpful. My car broke down, rather than getting a new car in the congestion formerly known as Seattle, I decided to be a bus/bike commuter. Let me start by saying the staff is super nice. They didnt judge me for not knowing much about bikes and with their help Im semi competent in maintaining my own bike now. On top of that, any new bike purchased from their shop has a year of free maintenance. The first bike I bought from them ended up being destroyed in a freak occurrence (I wasnt hurt, but my bike was literally gone) and they helped me get back on the road with a great discount on another bike. 5/5 stars. Anyone who is into biking should check this place out at least once

I was looking to buy a new XC / AM frame and had a quote from a different bike store on an Intense Tracer for $1,800. I was surprised to see more than one Intense dealer in WA at all and gave GHY a call to see what they would quote me. $300 less! Ordered the frame and it came in about a week later. When I picked it up I inquired about a headset but they didnt have the right size. They said they could order me one, I declined and the guy let me have the info on the size and type for when I went to get it. They do have a good selection of mountain bike parts too. Overall; good, quick, and friendly service with decent selection and competitive prices. Id recommend.

Super Stoked by GHY! My husband and I went to the shop this week to order a new Covert frame and what an awesome shop! We have been to bike shops all over the country and we were very impressed by GHY. The service we received was great, probably one of the best experiances we have ever had. I found an Elektra Amsterdam cruiser that I have been looking at buying for over 6 years and they were willing to put it on layaway for me. Very stoked. Thank you AJ and all GHY Staff!

The best experience I have ever had. First of all, the bike selection is primo. Great quality with great prices on every type of bike. Here is where the experience becomes the best. I bought a transition mountain bike, the next day I popped my tire on my way to work. I called them up and asked them if they could come fix it, with no hesitation they drove down to my work with a tube and fixed it for free so I could ride home. Damn good customer service.

Great local bike shop, the owner and staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about all of my bikes (dh, all mountain, and dj). I know I can count on these guys to have me covered whether its a last minute item before a ride or Im putting parts together for a new bike. My all mountain bike has a habit of losing a bolt out of the rear triangle. I often stop by before I head up for an afternoon ride on Silkworm/Bermsled and they always have what I need.

This shop is located in downtown Renton. There is free on-street parking and I had no trouble finding a spot at 11AM Monday morning. Its run by some cheerful friendly guys who seem to live and breath bicycles. I came looking for rain gear and found none until I asked, then the guy went into the back room and dug some up for me. When I want some repairs or mods done to my commuting bike, I think Ill go there.

Great local mountain biking shop. I came in to buy little things here and there that I needed in a pinch. A month back I had them build me a wheel set. Their free truing for life on wheels was a great perk, and the guys have always been friendly to me and my kids who love exploring the store and honking all the bike horns. Parking downtown can sometimes be a headache but GHY is worth the hurdle.

A great group of guys work at this shop, all friendly and helpful. My son goes in there often just to look around and ask questions. Everyone is helpful even though he rarely buys anything. We did buy his BMX bike there, best selection around. Shop is easy to find and parking is always available right outside the store.

I went there multiple times to buy new parts for my bike and they always helped me. The guys that work there actually know what there talking about unlike the people at some other places. They are friendly and will help your find what you need. The parts are great quality too.

Stopped in less than 10 minutes before closing because of a flat on the way home. They were helpful and didnt seem to mind me being there so close to the end of the day. Went back today to check out a few different bikes and the person I talked to seemed very knowledgeable.
