Hey guys! Emily here! Just wanted to post something in regards to the previous review about the Kent value village. 1. I am definitely not fired and still work at the location 2. My manager and I immediately counted my till after customer "Letitia" claimed that I pocketed her money, and my till was not a penny short or over, it would have registered as missing 5$ had I pocketed the money and 5$ over had I counted back the incorrect change. 3. The issue was taken up with corporate and resolved after further investigation on the cameras showed I indeed counted back the correct change, no pocketing :-) 4. During the transaction, Letitia purchased a 30$ coach perfume and the following day, she returned to our store and exchanged a different perfume that she had brought from home and placed our tag on. I just wanted to post this to clear up the lies in the previous review. Customer service is a priority at Kent value village and our team members do our best to make sure that everyone has a pleasant experience. It truly saddens me that some people would spread malicious lies, and I would NEVER risk my employment over 5$ dollars. Best
The staff there is so busy being suspicious of their customers that are actually trying to shop, I watched 2 people walk in and out with merchandise! One guy even Came Back with another woman! But an older woman and Myself were trying to shop on a budget... which takes some time at these places including.... Id even say, especially going in and out of the dressing rooms where there went from one fitting room person, to a fitting room greeter, a restocker, the manager (that was just making conversation) and even the eyes of the cashier! So just make sure you know what your looking for and where its at... because again after about 2 questions, the fitting room girl stopped making eye contact... and next one apparently warranted the managers icy watchful eye. (Which Ironically enough is when the hit and his friend rushed right out of the store with merchandise stuffed in their pants in a way that one walked as if he had a peg leg and the other had a buldge that would pop out from his back with every step!
DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION THE LADYS R RUDE AND WILL RIP U OFF!!! I was in there yesterday I paid for my items with $100 bill the lady checking me out named Emily who is now fired. Pocketed $5 of my change when I tried to tell the manager or who I thought was a manager it was a older Mexican lady. She told me that thats impossible and that I must have dropped it somewhere or its in my purse somewhere else. I keep all my money in my wallet theyre cashier it me off. Plain and simple she was totally rude today when I went back to try to rectify it she accused me of tampering with a tag on a pair of pants. Everything is overpriced I would rather shop at the Goodwill any day of the week beware of Value Village in Kent Washington. I had a horrible experience and feel ripped off. These are donations this is not Macys but respect is a huge issue when you are in sales!!!!
BEHIND THE TRUE LIES
They had so rude cashiers ¡¡ The cahiers acused my friend to "change" the tags of some clothes and take about 15 minutos to checking the tags hole and price of them each by each. This happens at least 3 times. The last time was a man that I suppose was the manager and I tell them why they do that??¡¡ Hey tell me if we didnt do nothing I should be angry. And he tell me. Can I ask you why does this bother you?? And I tell him .. Because this happens a lot of times to my friend and I dont you do that at the people before or after me. And with "together tell me Its because we decide to whom we inspect the Tags¡¡¿ I replied okay then tell me why you chose her, what is your choice based on He replies that only they know who and why they chose it, laughing in our face.
Just started shopping here a few months ago after moving to the area. A friend of mine suggested I go look at their selection of furniture to fill my new place. I was totally surprised at the selection of nice pieces they always have here. I come back almost every week drop off some donations, get my punch card, and find something of quality at a great price. The clothing and shoes selection is on point. The staff and management is always friendly and helpful, and greets you as you come in the door. There usually are a few shady characters in the store at any given moment but the staff handles them well and Ive never felt unsafe. Surrounding area is not very pleasant but hey its Kent.
I went to drop off some boxes for donation tonight. 12/19/16. and the woman working was very rude and short with me.. I asked for her assistance in getting some larger boxes from my van and she looked at mme like I was bothering her?? I then explained that I am pregnant and can not lift them myself but she just rolled her eyes at me and made me take them out myself... I believe if you dont like your job you shouldnt take it out on your customers...

A book end here was a two-piece, but it was marked separately so to buy the set, it wouldve costed twice as much as it was worth. We tried talking to the manager to negotiate this, seeing as they obviously went together... but the manager blew us off and simply said, they were marked separately. I usually enjoy shopping here, but I was very irked by this experience.

This Value Village seems to be more expensive than the other Value Villages we have been to. A dress with the rhinestones falling off and had a few missing was 24.99! An old xbox (dirty and without cables, who knows if it even works) was 24.99 as well. We also could not find a bathroom in there too. We have gone here twice. We wont be returning.
This V.V. has just about every thing, it would be nice if they had a scooter for those of us that have hard time getting around the store is so large. But WOW!! Crystal, C.D.s, Movies, Winter jackets, Toys, Dishs, Furniture, cords for your devices.and probably everything you would ever need in your home.
The turnover of staff is rediculous, lots to choose from, but prices are getting outrageous. The idea is for people who cant really afford new item prices. When the used price is the same or higher than new price at a department store, defeats the whole purpose of buying more affordable.
The prices are extremely low! I appreciate how friendly the customer service is, i always go to one cashier there because shes so helpful and her willingness to help is a12 out of 10 and i would shop again, also would recommend on yelp....even doe dis google lol
