This mall has always been pretty crumby and I do mean that. The shops are pretty lame, nothing exciting. I love tilt even though its cheesy. Ive been going here for years and My very first experience here after having moved for 6 years, I was I think 13 and I went with a group of kids some I had never met before. We went into borders and I sat down with a book. Some of the kids were running around and playing but Im a reader. So I sat there and read, a security guard came up to me and told me that if I didnt stop messing around and quiet down Id be banned and escorted off the property. What? I told her that I hadnt been goofing around just reading, one of my friends vouched for me but the guard wasnt having it. She said she seen me and the cameras seen me, she said that isnt how you behave and if I dont get it right I was gone. Well le teenage me was furious because I really hadnt done anything, so I may have told her she was too busy sucking something to have actual seen what happened. So we all got kicked out. Which was fine by me because I had been one of the 3 people who hadnt done anything. I felt targeted because I was the only colored child and the others who had been running were very pretty non colored folks. They are now really good friends of mine and we all still talk about how that lady was atrocious to me. It wasnt the last time security picked on me either a different security guard a few years later seen me drop my eye liner and her remark when she pointed it out was "not that you need anymore" tf. Just watch the security guards with kids because there was never any reason for them to start with me a kid at the time but they did.

One star, due to MAJOR safety issues and poor working conditions of one of their main anchor stores: Target. I have brought the issues of fire exits being blocked by lines of carts and a large step ladder that frequently blocks 2 out of 3 fire exits in the back room. Management there, is by far, the most incompetant and irresponsible management team I have ever had the displeasure of working under. I only mention the fire safety code violations, because it is the most serious issue they have. What leads to this occurring, is the lack of proper payroll. When a truck comes in, they just simply fIll a whole bunch of carts, palletts, and flatbed with product, and leave them sitting all over the place in an area with already narrow aisles that pallets can barely fit through as it is. When bring this to managements attention (who already see it, as nobody is blind that works there), they just shrug their sgoulders, and tell me Im the only one with a problem. I swear to god, if a fire ever breaks out and anyone who is killed or injured due to their murderous irresponsibility, I would immediately testify in a court of law. I give the Commons 1 star, for failing to conduct routine safety inspections. No excuses whatsoever for this to occur. If Target cannot have a high enough payroll to stock all products that come in on a truck in a single day, then they should not be in business.

Horrible staff. Nickel and dime style billing. You are forced to splice water with your entire building. So, if someone who has 2 people living in one unit and another has 10, yes seriously 10 people living in one unit they will make you split the water bill equally. Move out costs are just as bad as move in costs. The buildings are old and worn-out. The floors are shared so if your neighbors have children, you will feel everything they do. Such as running, Stomping, Slamming, even screaming and crying. Avoid this place. The section 8 housing is connected to the same property. Many cars stolen. Many residential burglaries. Lots of drug trafficking. Not worth the price and not worth the discomforts.

A great selection of stores and shopping. The target is huge and has so many cool things to look at... Including a much larger selection in their dollar section than Ive ever seen in a Target. The only thing I might say that is negative about this shopping mall is that its difficult to get across the street from there. We were in a big truck and had to park across the street but it was difficult getting traffic to pay attention and let us cross. Other than that I have nothing bad to say about the Commons in Federal Way. I had fun shopping there and wish I had had more time to check out other stores

We learned of some bad news so we decided to get out and get something to eat at Jasmine Mongolian Grill. We decided to walk around a little bit before we ate. We saw that they had the little animal rides that you could ride around in the mall. Just watching their free little spirits put us in the mood as well and so we hopped on with them and just laughed and giggled like kids with no worries in the world! Everyone had Smiles on their faces grinning ear to ear! It was a very very good day! I think it was just great to have great food and great fun while youre at the Commons Mall!

This mall is the perfect size, has everything most humans need, an eating area and four major stores, it suits every budget. From low prices to your all expensive but beautiful stores, target, sears, kohls, macys, daiso, and others. Its a place where children have a play area and theres a theatre too. I personally dont like large malls so if you want to go shopping but dont care for crowded big places...this is the mall to go to. Lots of parking, near target are most of the handicap parkings.

Its a nice mall. Very comfortable and easy to get around. Lots of things for young kids to play around with, even for free. They have a huge parking lot, so do many seasonal events out there - e.g. farmers market, Funtastic fair rides, etc. Also, very diverse crowd, since that part of Federal Way is such a huge melting pot. Its nice to get my little one over there to see people of different colors and attire, and realize that were all just people, and really can get along just fine.

This place was the home of the ORIGINAL Cinnabon. They had a plaque on the wall and everything. Sadly, the Cinnabon is gone now, and the rest of the mall is struggling to make itself relevant in the new economy (Amazon is killing every mall in the country). Fortunately they have a movie theater and a Target, so when Sears finally goes belly up maybe the mall can continue to remain open instead of leaving a gaping hole in the heart of Federal Way.

Very convenient to my location. I really liked going to the theater at 10pm on Wednesday s and Thursdays until some teenager in the parking lot wanted my money (panhandling)when I came out of the theater at midnight; dark as hell and no one else around. He kept looking over my shoulder as if he was getting instruction from someone else. Safeway parking lot is also full of low lifes who just want your money. Feels very dangerous to me.
