Make no mistake here. I love Costco and I appreciate our Bellingham Costco employees, especially the Optical Department. However there is a huge BUT here. Our Costco has faced an invasion from across our border where apparently it is acceptable to drive like an idiot. Additionally it seems that the acceptable practice of pushing others around, not keeping your children under control, not using the Queens English and running in packs of 6 to 12 strong that takes over entire sections of the store as they block it off with their carts and babble on in their native tongue. Getting fuel is a process of waiting in line while they fill every conceivable container in their vehicle with gas. This of course turns every one of their cars in to rolling maltov cocktails. Dont mistake this as a universal hatred for all that is Canadian. I have met some very nice people from across the border. It is a simple matter of being polite in a country that is not yours and this seems to be lost on the majority of visitors with BC plates. When roles were reversed a few years ago and the US dollar had leverage over the Canadian dollar we took advantage of it When going in to Canada though I thought myself as representing our country. I absolutely did not want to break a traffic law and get a Canadian ticket. I made sure I and my family conducted ourselves as the guests that we were. They have not responded in kind. Bottom line, shop another Costco. Burlington is a half hour down the road, just dont tell the Canadians, they have not taken over there........yet.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. VERY rude employees. Went to this Costco around 8:00, and closing time was 8:30. It was 8:45 Exactly and I was about to get out and head toward the cashier when an employee came up to me and yelled" TIME TO CLOSE U GOTTA GET OUT" I was picking up a size medium for a jacket but they only had large. I was just looking for a size and then ANOTHER EMPLOYEE comes and YELLS THIS TIME "STORES CLOSING IN A VERY VERY RUDE WAY" she seemed like she was working in the clothes section. When this employee yelled the one that initially told me to leave was also there staring. So then there were 2 employees standing there waiting. AND THAN A THIRD EMPLOYEE!!! He comes and he knew that there are ALREADY two employees standing there and he SAID THAT THEY WERE CLOSED. I WAS VERY FURIOUS AT THIS POINT!!! I understand the store is closing and if they want to tell me the stores closing in a rude manner Im fine with that! BUT IF YOUR GUNNA HAVE FREAKING 3 EMPLOYEES COME AND TELL ME TO LEAVE THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF. thats not the end of it. When the cashier was doing the bill, I just wanted to let her no theres something at the bottom of the buggy so she doesnt forget to scan it. INSTEAD SHES LIKE" I KNOW IN A very ill mannered way. If they werent closing, I definitely wouldve been going to the supervisor.

I like Costco. I like Canadians. Lets get a few facts nice and crystal clear: the American economy is in the "toilet" because its priorities are completely insane and the wolves are guarding the sheep. Your spending here doesnt represent the windfall some of you would like to think it does. Yes, you positively impact the local economy. Canadian dollars dont represent a higher standard of living for us necessarily. The roads are still crumbling and the schools are on par with the third world, maybe worse. We have our special interest group masters to thank for ruining the nation, along with ineffectual, gutless leadership. Its crazy and everyone is getting increasingly frustrated. Look at the unemployment rate in Whatcom County. It doesnt represent the thousands whove simply quit looking for work, or the underemployed. Yes, your shopping means a few hundred people have jobs that wouldnt otherwise. Thank you on behalf of all of us. However, Americans are still crazy, still frustrated, often impatient, and the poor souls that dont have the option of moving to a better part of the country for employment--or, lets face it, many Americans regardless of circumstances--are understandably going to be angry for being inconvenienced. Its part of your experience here. Happy shopping!

Costco in Bellingham WA told me they have no room in the warehouse and need to reschedule for tomorrow....20 minutes before for my appointment time. After two hours and fifty minutes (and getting their ass chewed by my company) they took it and put it in an empty trailer in the yard. I have just finished for the day with literally two minutes left in my clock. The past few hours have been stressful as I have had to run about trying to get everything done. Those three hours I was sat waiting, I really could have done with. Another driver (with a truckload of water) was turned away for arriving after his appointment time. A convenient excuse as when I went in the warehouse, pallets of product were stacked twenty feet high. There was no room for his water was the real reason. A different driver (who owns a small company) told me that some of his drivers refuse to go to this particular Costco. Everybody else seems to suffer because the stock control and ordering in this place is beyond the pale. Come on Costco corporate - get rid of the egregiously incompetent management here! Normally, Costco is not a bad place to deliver to, but Bellingham (Store #1216) is a poorly run nightmare!

Its really funny that, when the US (along with a lot of the rest of the world) economy was in the toilet due to your own governments truly stupid and avaricious policies, I didnt hear Washingtonians whining about Canadians spending millions in your state. How soon the song changes! Its Canadians who have helped, in large part, to pull this state out of the mire. Yes, Ive seen the Canadians being crazy at the milk counter, but to make disparaging remarks about all Canadians shows a high degree of ignorance. I think its time to start a movement in our country to keep Canadian shoppers from spending their dollars in a state that is willing (even eager, according to the newspaper that gets dropped at my Canadian door extolling the virtues of shopping in Washington) to accept their cash, but turns around and says disparaging things about those same shoppers. Lets start a KEEP YOUR CANADIAN DOLLARS AT HOME movement! I have rated this store with a Fair appeal rating because I read this kind of derogatory s**t over and over again. It makes me feel like I just dont want to put money into the American economy. What a bunch of arrogant jerks!

The parking lot design is idiotic. Lets put the countrys largest Costco gas station RIGHT IN THE FRONT of the store, so customers trying to park to go shopping have to fight w/ the hundreds of people trying to get gas - and everyone enters and exits on the SAME LOCATION. I saw several drivers throwing their hands up and yelling at other drivers inside their cars. 1 car hesitates and EVERYONE has to wait. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. The inside is sterile and boring. The BIGGEST downfall is the food court. The only way you are going to get me in a Costco is if Im eating / feeding the fam and getting a frozen yogurt. The layout of the food court is awful and there is no "flow". People are walking over people, lids are hidden.. napkins are absurdly hidden... after 100s if not 1000s of Costco design and construction - how can this food court be such a huge fail? Why is the ketchup and mustard cart practically in the waiting line? Seriously - you guys really screwed the pooch on the food court / eating area.
