The Mall itself is one that we have gone to for years, for shopping, dining and movies. .After this last week I will NOT be going again, and will no longer refer this mall to others. We went Sunday night to see a movie, which began at 8:20, Kingsmen. My entire family went and we were in 2 separate cars. Since the movie started late we knew the Mall would be closed and went in the 4th floor level, right in the food court. When we left to pay for parking we told the attendant we didnt get our ticket validated, but we had our movie tickets stub and from the time we entered the parking garage was just before the movie began he could see the mall wouldve been closed. He said" too bad" when we produced the movie ticket, saying he already rang it up for $2.00, and would not change it. He charged all three vehicles $2. Needless to say Im disgusted with his attitude and wont return. The Attendant had a very disrespectful attitude and should not be in a position to work for people where customer service is important. If he had even been the slightest bit kind, I wouldnt have written this review, but because he was so rude to all of us, I felt it was necessary. I have been in retail for over 30 years and would never think to have had this attitude at place of employment no matter how bad of a day I had. And to say too bad I already rang in $2, made me feel as though he was running a scam

Arguably one of the best malls in Hampton Roads. The mall is three stories tall with the food court and Regal Cinema being located on the top floor and a great variety of shops, restaurants, and kiosks on the first and second floors! It has an attached parking garage that has several stories of parking and always has available space. Ive never paid any more than $3.00 to park in the garage, which is easily one of the least expensive places to find parking in downtown Norfolk. And is located right in the center of downtown so its convenient parking for festivals, events, or if youre just looking to explore the rest of downtown! I got a little sidetracked, but in relation to the mall, it is a bit more upscale than your usual mall so some of its anchor stores are a bit pricey (Dillards, Nordstrom, etc), but there are stores for all varieties of wallets and pocket books throughout the mall. You could easily spend an hour or two in here and still not visit everything it has to offer! If you find yourself downtown and looking for some inexpensive parking, or a nice place to walk around and browse store fronts while you cool off from the summer heat, or even a place to catch a quick movie or grab a quick bite to eat; I would recommend you check out the MacArthur Center and see what it has to offer for yourself.

I love their kids summer program here! I like that they have valet parking, I love the ice skating in the winter and that they bring in the carnival rides. Its a favorite family tradition. Its a beautiful mall with lots of great shops and everyone who has worked for the mall that I have met has been very friendly and helpful, like the people putting on the events in the security guards helping during them. We also love the play area. I just wish it was a little over 42 inches to play there. I watched a family have to leave because the youngest child was under 42 inches and the oldest was several inches above, and because they could not both play they werent able to play. My son is only 5 and is on the lowest % of height actually, at all is almost too tall according to the security guard. He is actually a perfect size for that play area and could be bigger and it would be great for him. I understand they dont want big kids trampling on the little kids and damaging the play structures, but that size restriction seems a little cm extreme and will certainly keep us from visiting the mall as often because I will have nothing fun to do with my son after he is done patiently shopping with me. :(

This mall is failing and failing fast and it begins with the management and the new owners. I am an 8 year navy vet, leased a kiosk here for 12 months (Yoshis Tronics) and paid almost $7000 in rent each month for november and december. They make it so incredibly hard to succeed that it actually affects the quality of the vendors by limiting compeitition for select franchised kiosks. I had a large clientele base that admitted they never stepped foot into macarthur and never would have if it werent for us. With that said and paying that much rent youd think they would at least allow you flexibility in what your able to do, but they restricted me from being able to sell and repair electronics. This left me with only being able to buy electronics which for that rent amount is no where near worth it. I lease out a 1200sqft store now for the same price and my customers have no problem making the extra trip for the extra services we are able to offer there. This is the reason these big box malls are becoming a thing of the past.

Easy access from I-264 to 4 level parking garage (although it helps to know which garage entrance will be closest to the stores you visit. Movies on top level, go into the far right parking entrance from St. Pauls Blvd. Very pretty, clean, big restrooms, wide variety of top name stores for our area, ticket purchases for Va Arts Festival at customer service by escalators, live performances occasionally. I think limits on hours unaccompanied minors can be present, but generally Im there in the daytime. Seasonal popup stores for candy, calendars. Restaurants and easy walking access to neighborhood restaurants and entertainment. Parking rates vary according to time of day, but can look on website to verfiy. I sometimes park here to go elsewhere because its a nice garage. Can pay with debit card at kiosk, thank heavens they dont use the parking machines hidden in corners. Glad to see a person.

Great place to hang out, i feel that it is constantly changing though and the business is always shifting up and down. I frequently shop at the hot topic, gamestop, barnesandnoble, fye, bejeweled, h&m, and nordstrom café. Bejeweled always has a great selection of jewelry and knick knacks for that special someone; the owners always have or find a reason to put things on sale there. Their sales can go as far as 75% and the jewelry is extremely affordable and beautiful. All natural and hand crafted. The hot topic always has new items in every week, so if you see something you want it might not be there later. The gamestop there has excellent employees with great point of views and know how to talk about a game without spoiling it.

A very classy, upscale mall. Yeah, you have to pay to park, but it helps to keep loiterers out. I only shop at a few of the stores there (as it is 90% clothing stores, as most malls are), but i like just walking around and checking everything out. Its got a decent food court, with a couple restaurants inside as well, plus a nice movie theater and a college bookstore. There is always something to do and see at MacArthur Center, which is a huge plus. Also, between the pay-to-park, and the heavy security/police presence, its a very safe locale. The only drawback for me, is that everything is kinda pricey in a majority of the stores. Thats my only complaint. Otherwise, i highly recommend this mall.
