I am in the process of making a new headboard for my bed from scratch and was looking for guidance in finding different options for fabric. I dont live in Norfolk, but after reading some of the reviews I thought it was worth the 40 min trek in the rain. After making the drive in bad weather and rush hour traffic I was incredibly disappointed in my experience and would give 0 stars if possible. Another review I read said that no one greeted them or offered assistance and thats exactly what happened to me. Ive never done a big project like this and was walking aimlessly around for 30 minutes before I asked Lyn at the front for assistance. The store wasnt busy at all and none of the associates were busy helping anyone so I figured this would be a great time to get quality 1 on 1 help. After explaining my project to Lyn she literally pointed for me to go to the furniture section. After saying that I had already walked around the store (which she saw because you hear the bell ring when people come in) I wanted to know if she could come show me options. There were a few different types of gray fabric I was interested in but didnt know where to start and her response was "Well it depends what you want" and shrugged and looked down at whatever she was doing as if I was bothering her. Very, very poor customer service. This is a big project and I need to find a place with knowledgeable, customer service oriented associates so I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

I was going to Fabric Hut because I heard they had fabric for wedding veils. I went with my sister, future mother-in-law and future sister-in-law as we are going to make my veil. I went in expecting to have a fun experience and enjoy time with my family while shopping for this important fabric. However, what I got was a nightmare. We were having a good time and finding some fabric on our own when a lady came over and started looking at us as if we were crazy. She asked condescendingly if we needed help and said that they had more of the fabric we were looking at but in a bigger size. When we asked if we could see it she pulled our current fabric from our hands and in an annoyed manner proceeded to fold it back up. From that point on it went from bad to worse, she came back with the fabric which was covered in glitter and fuzzies and when we asked if she could cut the top part off so we could have the good stuff she just looked at us and said, its just glitter, GLITTER (while wiping it off her hand in our face)... It will fall off. The whole time she waited on us she was VERY rude and condescending. If they were not the only place in the area with specific fabric for wedding garments and accessories I would have walked out the door. I will never, ever go back.

I visited Fabric hut yesterday for my first time, I loved all the choices of fabric, staff was friendly. I liked there 4.29 wall which was mostly the plainer quilting wall. Only thing I wish was that they ran sales each week like most fabric stores do or have coupons for the prettier fabrics. I asked about sales and they said none now but will have one starting tomorrow. I lived in North Carolina and that is a bit of a trip to make to see if they have any special by chance. I did find a barrel of fabric that said 2.95 a yard but as I looked at what was in the barrel the fabric although was reduced had different prices, I asked about it and the man said well some are diffent you just have to look at tag. Why put one price on the whole sets if that is not really the true price? It was confusing especially when some was priced 0.00 I had to keep asking to many questions. Overall I think the store is great and will definetly go back if I get to Norfolk again.

I just left there about 10 minutes ago a quick run down...I called before i went i was looking for a specific kind of stretch (4way) satin material its about 95% poly and 5 spandex. I said this over the phone because i didnt want to waste time driving over there if they did not have it....the lady says "does it matter the percentage?" slightly rude im new to this whole fabric world so i did not know if it mattered or not. Anyway she said they had stretch satin material of course i go there and they didnt have it. Had ms rudeness taken her time with me and found out what i was looking for i couldve saved my time. I did get a couple of things. The lady that cut it for me was pretty nice. However, the rude slender tal old lady was not so much!! Ill order what i need online like i shouldve done from the start from now on.! VA has and continues to disappoint on many levels and good customer service is one of them.

Thank you so much for having knowledgeable staff in your store that have always gone above and beyond to be extraordinarily helpful! The fabric assortment has always been fabulous and I am hoping that the new store location will bring an even larger assortment. Looking forward to future trips for fabrics and notions! My only suggestions would be to expand into the Va Bch and Williamsburg areas, to increase the notions sections and to begin carrying the full selection of Gutterman threads. Other than that, THANK YOU and well be seeing you again soon!

Fabric Hut has always been a favorite place for me to come and get my material for quilts. Imagine my surprise when I came this time, had two carts of material and found out that you no longer do Fat Quarters and 1/8 cuts. These are two popular cuts I use all the time, and had gotten at your store before. I am very disappointed, couldnt alter my patterns to fit the requirements Fabric Hut requires now and left all that lovely fabric. That means I will go somewhere else for my two quilts.

My absolute favorite fabric store! Love the variety of cotton prints, love the fur and absolutely love the bridal section. Owning a business on line, a store that carries a large selection of cotton and other fabrics is a must and be able to come back and find the same fabric over and over is also a must. Staff is very helpful if you just ask. No long lines. Wish they had coupons thou but overall....my FAV!

Pretty good fabric shop - I love the 4.29 quilting fabric wall. They carry good brands of quilting fabric, not the crappy stuff available at joannes. the lady who cut my fabric was really nice. One other customer there were rather rude, interrupting the lady cutting my fabric and pushing my stuff out of the way to ask a question about her project. Not the shops fault, but geez people.

The staff is so nice and knowledgeable. This fabric store has the best selection in Hampton Roads. I can always find specialty fabrics for all occasions here. They have a special area of the store for bridal and special occasions. They carry apparel and upholstery fabrics and trims. Definitely worth checking out.
