I hate to give it one star since the girl who attended me and my wife was helpful and did a great job. BUT this is what happened, It was our first time as well like many other customers reviewing this place, and we were blown by the prices they offered. We were not in mood of buying anything and end up with a king size memory foam Mattress and a sectional. Everything was delivered on the day it suppose to even after a misshap which is no big of a deal. Problem started when we were communicated that if there is anything wrong with furniture it has to be addressed within in 24 hours. We got 2 different boxes springs for the Mattress, One for Twin XL (Cheap kind) and other for King(with proper support). So I called very early next day to resolve this and got attitude in return. Apparently TwinXL box springs were the right thing that goes with a foam Mattress and Box spring that is tagged with for King size mattress support is something that is delivered is by accident. Needless to say that I did paid $100 for box springs as well. To replace the one TwinXL with the right King box spring is another $200. Well, this should have been communicated when the purchase is done. It is very easy to say that this Mattress comes with cheap boxes but you can buy better boxes for another $400. Why Box springs are $400???. This is beyond me. Communication on the phone was prompt but very abrupt and rude. Right now they are taking the boxes back and giving me my $100 for it. But now I am left with a mattress on floor with no box springs. I already throw my previous one away. This is a horrible horrible customer service. This store is great, and can be even better with little training and better staff. The whole ordeal is not done yet so I will come back to this review.

I want to start by saying that this is the first time I have ever been to this store and the customer service provided my Ms. Victoria was awesome. I ordered a sectional and it was in stock... It was delivered the same day, however the reason for the 1 star is the lack of professional service and customer support on behalf of the management team of Marco and Nick. They are clearly very inexperienced and do not possess the skill set in the field of Customer Service. I was promised a cleaning kit the same day of my purchase, according to management the deliver crew forgot to bring the item with them. No problem however when I contacted the store and spoke with the team of Nick/Marco I was promised it would be delivered next day, however I still haven’t received it and was informed it would be there today. Needless to say this has taken 5 days to be delivered and I live 15 minutes away, go figure. Every time I called they were nice but clearly misleading, Im sure the problem lies with this young in experienced team of Nick/Marco, and /or they just dont give a damn. I would recommend American Freight recruit some mature experienced personnel to address customer concerns and not these young inexperienced managers. I use the word manager loosely, it is sad that they allow these guys to manage at this company. Lastly, I must add I will not be recommending this company to anyone in the Hampton Roads area, nor any of my co-workers. Considering I work for the government and encounter a multitude of people every day, I can ensure you word of mouth will go a long way and have an impact on your sells in the future. Purchased a mattress set from here in early 2015. By the end of the year, the bed had already begun to sink in. Contacted a "manager" in person back in July of this year. Was asked to send photos of the wear to submit for the warranty exchange. Did that and never heard back from anyone until I went in the store in October. I was informed the "manager" no longer worked for the company. The new manager assisted me, I forwarded the original email to him. A month goes by and I never heard anything. I finally called and spoke with the assistant manager. She called the manager and corporate who approved the exchange. I decided to pay the difference to upgrade to a better mattress last weekend and scheduled delivery for this weekend. They called yesterday to verify delivery time. I told them two today. Well after calling several times today, stating that the delivery company never called, delivery calls and tells me after 730 pm they had just received my paperwork ten minutes ago and were unaware of my delivery before then. It has been a six month nightmare from hell. I will not recommend this place to anyone ever. Great prices come at a steep price.

Im only giving them one start because it wont allow me to give them ZERO!!! I will never in a million years shop with this store again even if the gave my a free shopping spree. I paid for a sofa & loveseat set straight out in store. Waited two weeks for it to be delivered only to find out they forgot the loveseat cushions. I had to pay $80 for delivery and wait another two weeks for the loveseat to arrive and that wasnt even on time .. I find it funny how helpful they are in store when it comes to taking your money but as soon as something goes wrong they dont care to rush and help simply because they already have your money. They were so money hungry they didnt even refund me the delivery fee for the inconvenience. I will be sure to tell all my family and friends Not to support the store after their way they treated me when they messed up but had been fully paid !!!

I am beyond displeased with American Freight. I bought a couch and loveseat last May. The couch frame broke in about six weeks. It took months of phone calls and countless emails to get them replaced. It took me going into the store to make that happen. The replacement couches are just as big pieces of junk. In about four weeks this time I have springs busting through the bottom of both couches and you get swallowed up because there is no support. I am at the same place... emails and phone calls with no results. Im close to getting the local news involved. Ive never been sold such a poor quality product in my life and encountered such terrible customer service or seen a co. Not stand behind their products. In case your interested this is the store in Norfolk Va.

I got a couch and loveseat under a year ago and the couch started to get tears at the seams this last week (common thing) so I called the store and spoke with the assistant manager Ross . I informed him how Im moving in a few days so he pushed the claim through that same day not long after we spoke to try to get the couch for us before we leave and while its still under warranty. He also checked to see if there were any stores close to where i was going in case it didnt go through in time so i could still get a new one. Unfortunately there wasnt but it was nice he still checked. Super helpful and had nothing but awesome customer service. I recommend these guys, especially after this experience. Thank you!
