Went in to pick up an online order after i received an email stating it was ready. So not only did it take an hour for them to get it to me but the people at customer service are a mess. I signed for it with one lady but she never printed out a receipt. She said that I should have an email. I left to walk around to kill time and when I returned my order was there. The lady that helped me was no longer there so I began out the door with my order. They wouldnt let me leave with it because I had no proof it was mine. I completely realized they were right and that the lady screwed up. What ticked me off was when I said that I signed for it the guy in customer service said that there was no way I signed for because he was there the whole time and didnt see me do it. Rude! I asked him of was calling me a liar and he said no, lol. Anyway, of coarse he couldnt find the signed document and no where on the computer that out was signed for so I had to wait until the lady got back from her break. 10 minutes later she arrived and quickly found the signed copy. I looked at the rude guy and said "see, I wasnt lying". The whole experience was really upsetting especially since Im there so often. Oh, and the guy with the corn roles in plumbing is incredibly rude and should not be working with customers.

Im usually a VERY patient person but these people were just all over the place! I went in to get carpet and a door installed. The carpet associate had to keep going to the back to talk to whoever he needed to because he said, "Im sorry I usually dont work in this department." It took about an hour just to get a quote for my room measurements because the measure numbers were all mixed up and he didnt know what he was doing! I also had paid for my door choice and installation. The next day this lady calls saying they didnt show that I had picked a door handle so she said to come in and I did but after she messed around with the computer a bit, she came back with "and your total with taxes is $363..." I had to tell her that I came in yesterday and paid for all this already (actually less because the door she showed that was quoted was $150 more than the one I even wanted), so she calls the associate that was there the day before and turns out she hadnt saved or printed out my order so there was no proof of it being done. She just remembered me from the day before. She finally came back with "sorry for calling you in, we finally found your order and the door handle was included. Youre good to go" what the heck is going on over there?!

It isnt very often that I comment on great customer service. However, when I find that someone takes the time to provide the time and patience to assist someone in the way that Ms. Fatima Malick did when I visited your store several times this month, I feel it my duty to make a big deal of it. I came into the Newport News, VA location after my home was severely ruined. Although she was assisting other customers, she acknowledged my presence while still being attentive to the needs of her current customers. She was friendly, yet professional. When it was time for her to assist me, I was all over the place and quite indecisive about the flooring I wanted to choose and not very knowledgeable about materials, installation, etc. To make a long story short, after Id literally asked every question I think a customer could ask, she never seemed annoyed or bothered. Let me not forget to mention that it was near closing time. I just wanted to acknowledge her for being patient, polite, understanding, & HONEST. These characteristics are truly hard to find, especially in individuals who work for a company that doesnt need to work hard to please customers due to a pretty solid reputation. We rented a pressure washer to clean our deck before putting a deck sealer. My wife went to this store and to pick up a pressure washer and brought it home. We hooked everything up and the pressure washer didnt work. We then took the pressure washer back to the store to get a new one. Once we got back to the house, hooked it all up, and tried to knock this out we found out that the second one was broken. By this time it was 8 PM. We took the pressure washer back the next day to return it and get a refund. We were met with nothing but attitude and complaints from the staff. They were complaining about how we handled the situation, they complained about their system, and they complained about their management (we would have asked for a manager but they said he was on vacation). What ever happened to costumer service? I am a costumer; Im not bothering you by being in your store. I will never shop here again.

I normaly love going into home depot but going into this one is a nightmare. No one is trying help you, all they want to do is stand around and have conversations with one another. So i called and needed help finding an air filter (no promps say air filters) so i picked the first department I might think might have them (I was wrong) but the girl says that she will transfer me and she hung up on me, but she did say that it would be in pluming so i knew were to go when I called back. So I get to the right department and the guy tells me to hold on (he might have been with someone) but hangs up on me, now this is the second time Ive been hung up on in less then 5 minutes. So I call back again and he tells me we got disconnected but he sounded mad that I called back, but the kicker is after all that, he tells me they dont have my size. What a waste of time and minutes.

Using the Home Depot app I was able to place items in my cart and once entered in the store I was able to navigate the items with ease. The staff here is very friendly and if they cannot help you, they wont leave your side until they find someone who can. Although they are all not knowledgeable they have some idea of where to go. I go here more than others for the sales and the customer service. They are not the cheapest by far as your local stores would give you better pricing. A great store hands down

Online reviews on the whole are one sided and people who have had a bad experience more likely to write a review. I have shopped Home Depot for the year I have been down here and have had mixed experiences, but overall the service is pretty good. It should be closer to four stars than three so for my two cents worth Im going to give it five stars to balance the other one sided reviews. I dont love it but most employees try to please. Big box stores are what they are and will never be perfect.
