I loved Greenbrier Mall, I really did. I use to make regular trips out there even though I have a mall that is closer to where I live. However, Ive recently found that the owners of Greenbrier Mall are out of touch. Along with the arcade that that was there for years, a Jillians recently opened. Both were making a fair share of money, both were lucrative businesses, but both were arcades. Apparently, they couldnt have two arcades in the same mall because malls never have two of the same exact store (except for multiple clothing stores, department stores, and video game retailers) So they did the only reasonable thing to do in a tough economy when you have two businesses making lots of money, they kicked out the older arcade. Im just so saddened by their poor decision, not just because I loved that arcade, but because that was a terrible decision to make from a business stand point. If you have two places in your mall making a decent amount of money and paying all their rents and dues on time, you dont just kick one out because two is too many. Sorry guys, you might have a good selection of stores and a pretty nice layout, but when things like this start to happen it is usually the beginning of a series of bad decisions.

Looks like this mall is dying a slow death. Many stores are now closed and those that remain open look like they are hanging on by a thread. BTW, I think that Sears may be on its way to closing real soon. I mainly go to Greenbrier to get something at the food court otherwise I dont shop there. Its sad to see Greenbrier Mall going down like this. I can remember when it was built. I also remember the festivities surrounding the malls opening because I had to do a photo shoot of the aforementioned. Finally, all throughout the 80s, 90s and early 2000s there was always heavy traffic at this mall even on weekdays. Now its just dead...SMH.

I have nothing bad to say about Greenbrier Mall. For those in the Chesapeake and surrounding area, this is a pretty cool place to go to for your general shopping needs. They have a movie theater, food court, and plenty of good clothing stores to check out. The place is pretty clean, not too crowded, and definitely a locals place to go. Personally I prefer MacArthur Mall in Norfolk, which is about 15 minutes away, but thats because its bigger and has a better selection of stores. Overall, Greenbrier is a solid Mall with a good selection.

This mall is dead! There were people asleep at their stations in the middle of the mall mid day. I think the rule "Children Under 18 Have To Be Accompanied By An Adult Fri Sat Sun" is a killer I understand under 16 but the mall is where kids meet and hang out and kids are a major demographic for malls. Maybe hire more security, add younger stores, give more space to entertain and conversate with friends and stop treating teens like they are all criminals you might see more life here. However Retail Armageddon has struck here!

Went to Gameworks today and had a ball with the family. (Two kids and two adults) Fun for all ages. Got it on a great buy thru #Groupons. For only $20, i got an unlimited game play card (does not include games that redeem tickets) and a $25 game play card (can be used on all games). I only used the $25 card for the ticket games only. Did that for a few hours then walked upstairs and ate ($20 for the whole fam) and went back to play some more. For a family of 4, 5 hours of play and eats for $40, thats not bad.

Although showing a little age, still clean, neat, and loaded with stores, just not the ones I enjoyed 10 years ago. I age, the stores change for younger tastes, so I have to accept that. What has not changed is that my favorite hair salon, Rudy & Kelly, is still there. For that reason, I visit Greenbrier once every 5 weeks, and generally pay a visit to Dillards or Macys, Bath & Body Works, occasionally have a mani-pedi at the salon by Dillards, and do some holiday or special occasion shopping.

Overall, I think this mall is a nice family mall to take your family to on a weekend or any day of the week. I visited this past weekend for the first time in a few years. It looked like they made some improvements since my last visit! Theres a huge arcade, theyre working on a new H&M store set to open in the fall and theres a convenient Metro PCS kiosk on the first floor! I wish there was a Rue 21 inside this mall but there is one directly across the street so I guess thats close enough.

Honestly, I avoid malls whenever possible. Greenbrier is pretty typical mall. There are a few stores where "the mall" is my only real choice and thats about the only time I end up there. The food ct is typical - fast food options and nothing to write home about. There are obnoxious vendors down the middle of every through way and they will pester the crap out of you as you try to get from A to B. If you HAVE to visit a mall, Greenbrier is clean and pretty safe.

I hadnt been to this mall in a while and now I know why. It was perhaps the quickest trip to a mall I have ever taken. Other than the anchor stores there was not much variety of shopping. The overall styles sold at the majority of the stores were not classy or professional and definitely not "work wear". Many stores were disorganized and cluttered. Even the food court was terrible. With all the malls in the area to choose from this is NOT the one to visit.

This is the best mall ever!!! Its modern, beautiful and a great place to shop. its very clean. i will literally eat off the floor in there. Ive done it. the bathrooms are very clean! I dont put paper on the toilet before i poop. Thats how safe i feel in their bathrooms. The staff is very friendly. I went there a few weeks ago and I had someone say "hi" to me. This mall is Def on my top 5 Malls of all time.

Not a huge mall but its big enough and has a friendly, inviting atmosphere. And its size makes it easy to navigate around to get to where you want to go. Free, convenient parking in the front and back of the mall. New stores are opening up regularly, so its in a growth. The Food Court has a nice selection of restaurants. And theres a CinemaCafe theater thats fun for watching a movie while enjoying a meal.

One of the best places to stop in for a quick lunch. All of the food in the food court is good. Decent prices. Note this Chick-fil-A is more expensive than the one on North Battlefield but obviously the parking at the mall is much better. Charlies is a staple. Always good sandwiches made to order. Finally the brass turtle never has a wait for lunch and the food is decent. Kinda of pricey.

The mall looks great and has amazing atmosphere, but we ended up going to very few of the stores inside. There is not a very wide selection of stores, and a lot of the stores are small owned local businesses, not really what I was looking for when I went to the mall. We ended up going shopping across the street at the department stores instead.
