This place can easily be summed up in a few short words; it has so much potential! But, with that said, unfortunately is currently falls short of that mark. It isnt a bad mall, it has some stuff going for it; for example, it has some nice staple stores such as a Target, Burlington Coat Factory, and JC Penney. However, do to its recent bankruptcy issues its lost a couple other favorable staple stores such as the Sears (might have left earlier) and Macys. The food court is okay, and the stores throughout are pretty diverse and interesting. There is quite a mixture of stores Ive never heard of combined with the usuals such as Hallmark, Yankee Candle, etc. There is a nice movie theater here too. The mall never is overcrowded and it always pretty clean. The mall security and cleaning staff are friendly as well. Overall, this is not a bad mall, but there is so much more that somebody with a vision could do with the property. Hopefully, it can turn itself around, because right now it looks like its heading towards the same fate as so many other malls in the U.S. are going.

This mall has seriously gone downhill over the past few years. I only gave it 2 stars, because it used to be a great mall when i was growing up. Now, its practically a ghost town. About half of the stores are vacant, and now all of its main anchor stores have finally closed and moved out as well. Its a shame to see the mall in the state that its currently in, when compared to how it was in its prime. I dont recommend this mall at all.

The mall was nice when it first opened; however, shoppers have moved to newer malls now and many stores have closed. Some stores still remain - JCP, New York and Company, Bath and Body Works, Burlington, Target, lots of shoe stores and a few private (mom and pop kind of places) owned stores. My family still goes to the mall to walk around and do some shopping but sad to see more and more stores closing.

I went into store and was looking around already told one sales associate I was okay. Gentleman walks up to me and ask "what size do you wear" I respond saying "2XL" says "we only have small sizes" then he walks past a 2xl shirt and goes "heres one" I will never go back because he was just trying to get me to leave the store so they must not want my business or my money!!

I knew malls in the US were struggling and this one can be on the cover page. Probably half of the storefront space is vacant and the shops that are in there are fairly low end... that is to say, no big brand names and some local retailers trying to get started. The main attraction here would be the Target and the food court. Otherwise avoid for shopping needs.

Sadly, Im not impressed with this mall! I meet my friend here for dinner once a month, because she works close by. If we didnt have a reason to meet here, I probably wouldnt see myself going here again. Several stores are closed down indefinitely... its a little depressing to walk through when darkened store signs are polka dotted throughout the entire mall.

Alot of emptied stores, but what is there is average. Safe feel to this mall, not alot of shady people, security is present. Overall, not a bad facility. Noticed some stores moving away from this facility but the big hit was Sears leaving, yet then they reinstalled the Movie theater and it is awesome, with 3D and XD options.

Then a resident of Western Branch all my life and this place has really gone down. Simon or any developer needs to Come Back Inn and make this an open-concept to draw more of a crowd to Chesapeake again. I like how there are two new German grocery stores that are bringing affordable groceries to Western Branch!

Unfortunately, this mall is pretty much empty now. It used to be a pretty good mall, but there are two empty anchor stores and most of the stores inside have closed now. I only go to this mall when I want to go to Target or get my eyebrows done The girls at Sarvarna always go a great job threading my brows.

This is my childhood mall, but theres just nothing here anymore. A shame, this is the easiest mall for me to get to, but with better malls so close by, not much of a reason to come here anymore unless its to walk around before a movie starts. BUT you gotta love Nori Japan and the "yummy yummy" guy. Classic.

Nearly dead. Not very safe. Food court is almost reminiscent of a food desert. Nothing of quality anywhere. Target is the only thing holding this place down. Everything else is useless.even the bars have people wish bad attitudes... Sad to see it change from a lively, safe, and fun place to shop.

Whats not to love, great mall...Has a little bit of everything inside and the food court offers great food. I highly recommend yummy yummy...Just go to the food court and when you get asked if you want yummy yummy, say yes please...procede to the counter and order...Its that simple

The little kiddie rides took my dollar but didnt turn on and the change machines dont work. Asked a place at the food court if they would change a 5 for some ones and quarters and they said they couldnt do that. Not a big deal is just my son was soooo excited when he saw the rides

Nice little mall considering all the closures and foreclosure thats going on. Along with the shops and fast food eats, they have two good restaurants and a kiddie play area. Theres also a really nice movie theater practically attached to the mall that doesnt get very busy.

Sadly, this mall is lacking in a great deal. They have lost several anchor stores in the last few years and have seen a decline in patrons. There are some cool places but if youre looking for a mall experience, you may choose to go elsewhere for better store selection.

There are a very poor selection of stores, many of which are obscure. A large amount of the stores are unoccupied. I have heard this mall was recently bought off of the original owner and there are plans for a renovation in the works. Until the dont waste your time.

This mall use to be a hidden gem. Twenty years ago this was a mall full of stores. Now it lies mostly barren. JC Penney, Target, Burlington, are still there as far as the larger stores. Check the directory online for a full listing of stores. Quiet place to shop

The mall was declining the past few years but what I was told with new management it seems to be picking up in customers and theyre actually doing some maintenance now but the food court Personnel still need to clean they like disappear you never see them

Its topsy turvy, could use a lot of work but Simon Malls is holding onto it hoping for a boost in the region that may not ever come. For now its 4 stars because they got the nice theater and are trying. This could easily go down tho in the coming months,

Its near my home and has a few good stores left. Sure wish a Belk or store similar to this type store would move into the mall. The Mall is kept clean and fairly maintained. For some reason stores moving to Harbourview area and we are just as populated.
