I called Community Appliance in good faith based on reading reviews. I had a broken dishwasher. They said all work was guarenteed. A man named Luis, who I later came to learn was actually the owner, came out and messed around witih the dishwasher for a few minutes, then said the fault was ours. He wrote, washing dishes with cold water," on the reciept. I paid him $50, but was confused by his diagnosis. There is no cold water setting on a dishwasher. It had worked previously. The dishwasher was making a terrible noise, which he apparently cant hear. (Its a loud grinding, impossible to ignore yet he has ignored it.) My husband called their shop later and held the phone to the washer to show the noise was still there, loud as ever. When I tried to make use of their guarentee (all work guarenteed) they said there was no guarentee because they didnt fix anything. What logic! So, we paid $50 for nothing, and the owner wants to argue finer points of this scam transaction rather than either fix the machine or refund the money. I would say by all means go with a professional. This place is a joke. Dont trust them.

Bought a dishwasher from them to put into the house were renting. I asked if theyd give a discount since I was paying with cash, and they gave me $20 off. The dishwasher worked fine for about 2 months then had intermittent problems...I finally got around to looking up my receipt (remembered it had a 3 month warranty) and found that I had missed the warranty window by one day! When I called to explain our situation, I was told that "that was close enough to the warranty for them" so they had someone come out and look at the dishwasher. They then replaced the motor with a new one and its working great again. I was not charged a penny for either of the visits/labor/parts. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I had to towel up some water/clean up the floor after the repair guy left. BUT, that was not a big deal at all to me since I now have a functioning dishwasher again! Super nice people, well shop there again!

I purchased a washer and dryer back in September 2008 and had it delivered. Customer service was great, and when I noticed I wasnt charged the delivery fee (I live in Tigard) and offered to pay for it, the stylish gal said it was okay. So, I didnt have to pay the fee. Delivery went smoothly as well. I like the whole concept so much that Im going tomorrow to buy a refrigerator.

I was excited to support this local business. The fridge looked clean and in good condition. The delivery folks were very nice. The first hot day (naturally 1 week after warranty ran out) the freezer iced over. Now it freezes over every time the temperatures get above the 80s, necessitating defrosting. Lame.
