My old dryer broke last week-- would run, but not heat. I called Stover Evey & Jackson to set up a service visit. Since they were booked for a couple of weeks, they suggested bringing the heating element in for testing, which would be faster (and cheaper). I booked the service visit anyway. Was reluctant to remove the part myself. However, SE&J said that if I wanted to try it, a technician would walk me through it over the phone. So thats what I did. Sure enough, it was broken. They had a used one in the shop but I wanted a new one. It was the day before the holiday weekend so the part wouldnt be in until the next week -- and I had company coming and needed to do laundry. SE&J said "no problem." I could just borrow the used one until the new one came in--no charge! I returned it the following week and picked up my new one. They were as pleasant and helpful as could be. Total cost was just the $40 for the part. This is the same business that helped me out 20 years ago when I was young and very broke (and with small children). They let me borrow tools and also walked me through another repair and charged me only some minimal fee, like $10. It sure meant a lot to me at the time! Their kindness and excellent customer service are the reasons I went back to them to buy my new dishwasher, stove, and frig back in 2004. When my old washer and dryer finally give out, Ill be back to SE&J for new ones. They treated me the same whether I was making the major purchases 6 years ago or the small one this week (or 20 years ago). Highly recommend them -- theyre the best!!!

I recently bought a used washing machine and dryer from these folks. After using the washing machine for a few months, it began to leak grease into the tub and onto some of my clothes. At first I thought it was just some of the laundry as Ive been doing home renovation and some of the clothes were getting grungy. Turned out, it was grease from the washer transmission leaking into the tub. The seal had failed, which is an indication that the transmission has failed. The machine was sold with a 90-day warranty and Id just passed that by a few weeks. I spoke with the stores staff and explained that I hadnt had the machine long before it failed, and even more frustrating was the fact that it failed just as the warranty ended. The staff understood my frustration and put me in touch with Bob in the repair shop who confirmed that the machines transmission had failed and there was no repairing it. He then went on to say that they would replace the washer with another used machine of equal or greater value which was a huge relief to me. It was a demonstration of the kind of integrity and good faith that, in my opinion, is in short supply these days. I picked out another used unit and within two days, it was delivered. This experience helped me understand why Stover, Evey and Jackson has been in business for as long as it has. They operate with integrity and strive to do the right thing for their customers. I know I will start here when it comes time to purchase new appliances.

Love this place! First week of college we bought an old washer and dryer from an older couple. Once we got them moved into the house and tried to use the washer, we found out it didnt spin. I flipped it over and found a bunch of broken rubber pieces and called Stover Evey & Jackson to get a replacement gasket. It was a late Friday afternoon and everywhere else was closing but I was able to come in and get the part and talk to a technician who walked me through the process of replacing it! It ended up costing less than $20 to get the washer fixed and they were all very helpful! So when my dryer started squeaking horribly yesterday, I knew just who to call. Called and spoke with a technician who walked me through disassembling the dryer and I found the problem to be the bearings in the motor itself. Called them back and found out a new motor will be about $75 but since its old theyre also recommending new ones to us. Great experience with these guys and great customer service! Took the stress out of broken washers and dryers and they have been very helpful with keeping it in budget!

We started looking at Home Depot, then I decided I would support a local business by going to Stover. Turns out to be a huge mistake. The washing machine we bought my wife absolutely hates, and has complained about it every time she uses it. "See, look at this" At 2 weeks into owning this dog, I went into the store and spoke with them about this, and asked if I could return it, and buy a higher priced model. I was told no. I wasnt asking for my money back (tho I could have so easily gotten a FULL refund from Home Depot had I bought there), just credit on a higher priced model. The answer was no, we dont do any returns. (read as: youre stuck with it) So I dont know how many years I get to hear how much that machine sucks, thanks to their lack of decent service. Huge mistake I made buying there. Better keep this in mind if you decide to "buy local". I dont particularly like supporting big box stores, but the above experience shows me why they are killing smaller stores.

The tech said he would call me with a quote after inspecting my dishwasher. This would determine what I would do next. Two days later and I finally call them, the tech had gone ahead and ordered it! The part and installation was practically the price of a new dishwasher and I had wanted to get a different dishwasher anyway. Now however, I didnt want to get one from them. Why would I want to pay over $300 for a motor when I can put an new machine in for the same price? They sent me a $75 bill for the 20 minutes the faulty tech was there.

Awful experience with this company. They took our dryer in for repair on Tuesday last week and said we should have it back by Friday last week, as of tomorrow it will have been a week past due and they keep making excuses as to why its taking so long to fix, each time we call its something new and keeps costing us more money, they even charged us $75.00 just to come to our home and tell us what was wrong, we live in Corvallis! Stay away from this company and find someone else.

Ive turned to Stover Evey & Jackson a few times over the past several years. I have had nothing but positive experiences. The technicians are very helpful and will help troubleshoot on the phone free of charge. They can order any individual part youd ever need. The best part is they never act like sales guys trying to push a sale. On top of that, theyll let you take parts back if you find out you dont need them. Luckily Ive never had to. Highly recommended.

A year ago, my husband and I bought a washer and dryer from Stover Evey & Jackson and have been very happy with them. We got excellent personal service and were not rushed or pressured. Now we are in the market for another appliance and we are going back for more. It was nice to do business with a home town store. Business owners tend to be more attentive to customer sevicer when they have to live in the same town as their customers.
