Ive driven by this place at least a dozen times going to my kids travel soccer games. I had a day off and decided to go check this place out. It was about a twenty minute drive so I was eager to get there. First of all, it is a tiny little place, with room for 3-4 people to stand and the donuts on the other side of the counter. The owner and his wife were very sweet and friendly. I decided to try a chocolate frosted, a coffee roll, and a lovely looking Italian pastry. I ate the chocolate frosted on the spot. It was so fresh and perfectly made, it was like the dictionary definition of a donut. Amazing how much better it was than store bought or DD. The Italian pastry had a thick, custardy texture to the interior. It was very rich and very good. It wasnt overly sweet either (my kids much preferred the exquisite coffee roll with all the cinnamon and the glaze). I loved this little place, so check it out if you have a chance.

The Village Donut shop is a favorite for locals and for those traveling along Rte. 571 in Ocean County. There is a small parking lot to one side. Space is limited and there is no indoor seating. However, friendly chit chat from the locals and owner make the wait for your to-go order entertaining. The donuts, crumb cake and sandwiches are top notch. Youll want to get there early to have the best choice before things are sold out. Id recommend the "Chop Suey", which seems like a cross between a donut, cinnamon bun, and fritter that has amazing flavor and texture. A second favorite is the Cannoli donut. Enjoy!

Ive been wanting to try this shop out for a long time now, complete disappointment. The donuts were dry and tasteless. The service acted like I was bothering him and I was the only customer in the place. I will not be going back. Maybe just to give back his donuts. $7.50 for 6 btw.

DONUTS were GREAT! I went around 10:30ish and they still had a fair selection. Locals tell me to get there super early to see everything. But I do have to say they were super tasty and just so REAL! Gosh I will be a return customer.

1st timer, best glazed Ive ever had. Alongwith Boston cream! (My personal favorite) Got BEC on a fresh bagel was also good. Not the best bagel certainly not bad. Friendly owner striking up a convo while waiting for bacon to crisp.

Best homemade donuts around. Get there early the donuts and pastries sell out fast. Sal makes the best biscotti you ever had in your life. He only makes them around holiday times, and they are worth the wait.

The pork roll was great! The ladies were friendly. The guy, not so much. Selection was bad. Cost was cheap. Donuts were ok. Tiny area to order and pay. Cash only
