It’s quite ironic that I am writing this review in this manner. When I read the reviews before we went to Furniture Mart I thought “Can it really be as bad as some people are saying? They must be people that are never satisfied.” As it turns out, our experience sadly, mirrors several reviews. Let me start off by saying our interactions with the sales team was great! Everyone was professional and always helpful and friendly. Beyond that, everything was downhill. We purchased a bedroom set, sectional and recliner. Everything had to be shipped from other locations, some pieces were weeks later which we understood but, due to the reviews I was a bit skeptical that we would receive it when we were told it would come in. And…. it didn’t come in on the date as promised. My husband went to pick it up and was told that it didn’t make it on the truck so, it would have to wait until the next delivery. How does that happen? If you have promised a customer a delivery date, don’t you get another truck instead of saying too bad sucks for you it didn’t make the truck? Second, don’t you call the customer and let them know? The bedroom set arrived piece by piece. We got the dresser home and discovered that the rail the drawer glides on was broken. We packed it back up and took it back. The desk told us that since we had brought it back they’d take it this time but their policy is to send someone out to fix it. That is unacceptable. It’s a new piece of furniture. I want it in new furniture condition – not fixed. Next was the recliner. It was also broken. The back would not recline. We hauled that back and picked out a new one – we didn’t want to risk another broken one of the same model. Finally our sectional arrived! We had been patiently waiting for it because we fell in love with the feel and comfort of it. We got it home and it didn’t fit together. The pieces that allow it to stay together as one unit were put on incorrectly so, it’s uneven and the feet don’t touch the ground. As much as I hate fixing new furniture, I called CS to ask if they could get someone out that day and of course was told no. A tech couldn’t get out until Tuesday. I said can you order a new one, deliver it and pick this one up since it is your fault it is defective. I was told no. It is not their fault. They don’t see these pieces before they leave their warehouse so, they can’t guarantee anything. She went on to tell me that I signed something releasing them. Really? I can’t even believe it! The sections were wrapped in cardboard and plastic when they were picked up. How would we know it was defective? I said , “Well maybe we’ll just return it and go elsewhere.” She said, “OK that’s fine.” Customer Service called and the manager authorized a return! We are very pleased. Once the furniture is delivered, we will update.

Myself and my wife purchased a rocker recliner from Furniture Mart Shakopee. We were helped in the store on February 14th by Kai who was a helpful salesman. Ultimately we decided on a "hot buy" rocker recliner due to the slightly lower price. We were days away from our babys due date at the time and wanted a comfortable chair for feeding, so we inquired several times about when the chair would arrive. We were told it was on back order, so we could expect the chair to arrive for pickup by March 5th. We asked if that date was firm, we were told it was. It was very important to us that we got a chair quickly, so we felt confident at that point that we had made a smart purchase. We were fully willing to consider other options if inventory on that item was an issue, but Kai made us feel comfortable that the chair would be in the store by March 5th. We were also told we would receive a call during the last week of February to update us on the status of our order. On the 5th I called the store, the chair was not in. I spoke with Kai and was told it would be a couple weeks due to the backorder. We had a polite conversation and I was not unsatisfied at that point because I understand supply issues. I was told I would get an update in the next two weeks. On March 24th, almost 3 weeks later, I called the Furniture Mart. I spoke with Kai again. I was told that my order was not in yet and that it was scheduled to be in the next week and that I would be called when I could pick it up. I used polite, but firm language to communicate how disappointed I was with the timelines and the communication from the company. I was told in response that "Sometimes we have to make false promises". I did not receive an apology. I was not offered any sort of recompense for these "false promises" by the salesman. I did not hear back from Furniture Mart on the week of the 30th, I called on that Thursday, April 2nd. I was told that my chair was in, and that I could pick it up any time. I asked why I wasnt called when it arrived at the store, I was told that they didnt know why. I picked up the chair on April 4th, the product is so far satisfactory. The pick up area attendant was friendly and helpful loading. I am not unreasonable or rude, I am simply disappointed with how the Furniture Mart handled their supply chain, logistics, customer communication, and customer satisfaction. I would recommend a different furniture retailer if these things are important to you.

I would NOT recommend buying ANYTHING from Furniture Mart! CROOKS! I purchased over $5,000.00 worth of furniture from this place since April 2014. Several items were on back order, eventually we were notified all items were in including the Love seat that was on back order... Three days before my furniture was set to deliver we went to shop a bit more looking for some odds and ends. As we were in the store I wittnessed them taking the show room love seat that was a part of the set I purchased, (and was waiting for it to come in from back order, but was told it was in and set for delivery in three days), wheel it to the back and package it up for delivery. For some reason I questioned why they would be taking JUST the love seat off of the floor from that set... so I asked to speak with a MGR, he did some investigating and YES they were taking the USED SHOW ROOM Love Seat and going to send it to me as if it was brand new from the warehouse. If I wasnt in the store to see this, I would have never known. The Manager apologized and told me that I would then have to wait another month for the love seat to come from warehouse as new. At this point I had waited months already for all of my furniture to come in and was a bit peeved, not to mention a loss of trust. How do I know this wont happen again? How could a place of buisness be so dishonest?? I decided to not get the love seat and go with a chair. I now had to wait another month and half for the Chair to come in... I was told 6/23/14 the chair would arrive. I got a call from my sales person on 7/1/14 and was told the chair still wasnt in and it was going to be another month before it comes into the warehouse. After speaking with the same manager that again he offered me to take a chair off the show room floor and he would give me $50.00 off of the chair. UNREAL! I am just sick about all of this and will never shop here again. I will make sure any family and friends that are looking for furniture WILL NOT shop here either. I am going to post this on any social media site that I can think of. - After reviewing other comments on this site I see someone advised not to have Kari Lee as your sales person.. well she was my sales person and I agree, along with her managers, she hasnt shown ANY concern throughout this whole ordeal.
