My younger sister of 19 bought a used bmx bike from here . When I hopped On it I noticed that there where bolts sticking out where the cranks are bolted to the spindle they hit you on your ankle bones when you pedal . These bolts are supposed to be flush .i was upset I felt my sister had been taken advantage of ! So I took the bike back to the shop .I showed them the problem and explained that those bolts did not belong on any bike anywhere. they put it on there clamp for inspection and insisted there was nothing wrong. I was being stonewalled . At this point I told them that they were hacks and I was leaving. As I head for the door he says if you leave the bike we can order the parts !!! I couldnt believe my ears he just admitted there was something wrong after all his lying and stone walling what a little weasel .I told him Noo I DONT TRUST YOUR CRAPPY WORK . THESES GUYS ARE RIP OFF ARTIST !!!

This shop is incredible! Everybody in there works hard and is incredibly welcoming. I expected then to be elitist bike people and was pleasantly surprised with how amazing and helpful they are. I brought in two vintage bikes to have fixed up, one was a keeper the other had a bent frame but Dave worked super hard to try and find another frame we could use. In the end he helped me figure out through various test rides that I should just get a new one. I got a new Manhattan for the second bike and I couldnt be happier. Alex got me all kitted out with the accessories I needed for both and even installed them for me. I cant say enough nice things about everybody there and would strongly recommend you shop here!

Just went in 5/4 around 6pm. I have been look at bikes for a year or so and now even more serious. I went in to Recovery after noticing a Surly fat tire bike in the window. Not one if the guys there said hello or asked if I had any questions. One of them was riding around on a bike testing it I assume but the other two at the counter were talking about one of their yogurt he was going to eat. I just really disappointed in how you can walk in to a place and not even get a hello. I will most likely be heading to Hopkins as I was treated great at Jonny Rocks Bike or Erics as I can walk in and have my questions answered.

Cool place with fixed up used bikes and new ones as well. Staff is all really nice and helpful. Selection isnt very extensive, but its definitely worth checking out if youre in the market for a bike, prices are too high, though. Also, warning: the tuning that this shop does is just dreadful. Ive had two bikes from here tuned up three times and the chains are constantly derailing on all of them. Its like having two fewer gears on your bike, because going to the top or bottom gears will derail half the time. Its a great place to get a tune up if you love being on the side of the road fixing your bike all the time.

went there largely because i liked their story...and i might try giving them maintenance work. BUT i left very disappointed in their prices for used bikes. they may be helping employ people, etc. but as someone with a disabled kids 13000 per year medical bills, they were of little help to me. from what i saw, they want at least twice as much as what you can get from craigslist for models of similar quality, so even with 2 or 3 hours of attention they may give an incoming bike and the possibility of one-stop time saving, it wasnt worth the trip. i might try them for tuning, etc, when the time comes.

I have been to almost every shop in the twin cities, and Recovery Bike Shop is by far the most friendly, humble, genuine, and honest shop in town. They treat you like an individual and a friend, not like a walking dollar sign. They carry an array of used bikes, new bikes, parts, and soft goods. They truly care about your problem and want to make sure you are satisfied and safe on the roads. Everyone of the employees is passionate and knowledgeable about bikes, and takes pride in helping you to the best of the their ability. Why go anywhere else??

Recovery is a fantastic, locally-owned bike shop conveniently located in NE Minneapolis. I have referred numerous friends there to purchase bikes and parts and all of the staff, but especially Alex and Josh, are extremely helpful and patient. The team is knowledgeable and friendly, and the bike, tool and accessory departments are well-stocked. Recovery also organizes a variety of events, including open shop times to instruct and help beginners with a host of common bike maintenance how-tos. This is a great all-around shop.

This was a amazing bike shop for many years until recently. As a former employee of Recovery Bike Shop, I will honestly say that the ownership as of recently has changed what Recovery Bike Shop has been known for. There is no longer experienced mechanics on hand nor working for the company to assure you have a awesome ride. The owner can not afford to keep experienced people on hand to even help/train new people. What was once a staple of the mpls bike community is now, sadly, almost a thing of the past...

Super helpful and friendly staff, less than stellar selection. I really enjoyed going there and getting my questions answered and found the staff to be super helpful and friendly, but their inventory of bike components wasnt that great. Clearly its a much better place to go get your bike repaired, to buy tires/tubes, or to buy a used/new bike, but beyond that theyre kinda lacking in peripherals and accessories.

I took 2 bikes in for a tune up. I went here because of previous reviews on price and service. One bike was done perfectly. The other still had an issue with the pedal mechanism. Sounds like metal on metal. Dont know how they could have missed it. Feels like the new era of car mechanics. Just never know if you get a fair price.

Employees were really nice and helpful. I didnt feel judged even though I dont know much about bikes. They helped me find the exact bike I wanted and this used bike was way more affordable than a new one. I even got to pick out my own handle bar tape color! Highly recommended.

As someone who doesnt know a lot about bikes I came in here expecting new bikes over $600. Instead I bought a new bike which they adjusted to my size and swapped out some parts I didnt want in the store. Great service will come again.

Customer service was amazing, especially considering that I am only a casual biker and was looking for something used to meet my tight budget. I asked a ton of questions and staff were patient, kind, and genuinely helpful.

Recovery is a great, locally based bike shop with talented staff who work quickly and diligently. Ive taken several bikes there several times, and I highly recommend them and their sister shop Recycle.

Love these guys. I bought a bike there, and had it tuned up a year later. Great service, very friendly and helpful, and prices that are very good. Best bike place Ive encountered in the Twin Cities.
